TATA STROME GOOD CAR BUT LOUSY SERVICE FROM TATA- My experience of owning it.
Through this post would like to highlight my experience of buying TATA Strome Safari. Before I started looking for options for buying a SUV, there were several options which were evaluated and post series of test Drives came to the conclusion that TATA Strome could be just the right option which I would like to go for. However while going through the internet it was very much evident that a major drawback of buying a Tata car was lousy service of TATA; which seemed to be a common feedback from most of the bloggers.
Taking things in right perspective I went ahead with my decided to go ahead with buying a TATA Strome thinking service support cannot be terribly wrong. Driving Honda for close to a decade now there were certain service standards which i got used to but experience would TATA would actually be so bad was not imaginable.
Right at the time of first service of the vehicle at Him Motors Patapganj, I got a taste of it and it took not long to realise was I should expect from TATA when it comes to customer satisfaction and service. Down the line these service and customer satisfaction doesn’t mean anything to the staff. I was called to pick up my vehicle post the service and made to wait there for hours before finally my car was handed over that too after i insisted that they can’t treat customers like that. It seemed making a customer wait there was hours pretty usual to them and when i objected none of the staff there was able to relate to my problem. When the available staff was not able to resolve my problem I called the General manager Mr. Rupesh Pathak and his reaction over phone refelected exactly why down the line staff could not understand my problem, even the General Manager level official dint had any concept of Customer Service and he was very cool after listing to my plight and dint not offer much help.
Finally I wrote my experience in the feedback form but really sorry to note there was no action taken on my complaint/feedback. Though i have received few calls after this experience from TATA motors asking me how the vehicle was performing and I have repeated my bad experience to each such caller but as on day no one has even said sorry and offered to help.
I am really sorry to say TATA STROME is a good car but with clubbed with extremely poor service from Tata Motors don’t think so they would be able to successfully sell any of their cars. Tata Motors team is still to realise that selling commercial vehicles and private cars are two separate distinct markets with very different customer profile. Every buyer of Tata vehicle is not to be treated as a commercial vehicle driver.
Recently, noted TATA STROME prices have been further curtailed, but I don’t think so that would make any positive impact of the car sale. All you need to change is your attitude towards your customers.
*I had a horrible experience during my first service of my new Tata Strome on 28th September 2014.

Exterior Looks gre,has an unstoppable appeal.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interior was good n improved a lot, space was great, comfort plays the main role for drive or passenger.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Performacne was good ,fuel economy for me is nearly 15on hiway ( it's just 2 passengers n maintained a speed at RPM 2 nearly 270 km )n 12 in city, gear shifting is bit old but has no problem could have been 6 gears,for such a beast.
Ride Quality & Handling Ride was excellent,handling in hi speeds also has changed a lot when compared to older version.
Final Words It's been 2.5 years with this beast and I drove 68000 km,has no complaints not even a single one ,the companies warranty was superb its for 4 years or 150000 km . mainly the AMC plan was awesome the service interval was at 15000 and I dint pay single penny until 60000 km . I thought TATA was not that gre8 company but after I using strome it completely changed my mind n views of its future models .TATA Motors has changed a lot in its built quality .
Areas of improvement It would be nice if there more features, and 6 gears.

Exterior It is a real beast, it has the looks of a male, a pur SUV without doubts.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Space is good, comfortable to drive specially long journeys, the plastic looks much better than M&M vehicles, greatly improved compared to Safari.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Great power beyond my imagination, very silent engine churning lot of power,fuel economy is much better on highways, was giving me around 16kmpl. The gear change was little hard till 500km run but later became very smooth.
Ride Quality & Handling Excellent ride quality without a pinch of doubt, handling is much better than M&m SUV's & very much improved compared to old safari
Final Words It is a real beast to looks, power & comfort. Excellent handling, suspensions much improved compared to M&M vehicles & old safari. I can definitely say that driving this beast feels me at the top of the World
Areas of improvement Driver Information technolgy, making the steering little lighter.

Exterior - impaccable in its class
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) - there is area for improvement, interior plastic is not upto the quality standards, Audio system is not meeting the expectation for this SUV.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox - Do far its performing very well, i got 12 KMPL in city and 14 KMPL on highway. Engine performance is fine so far and sound is quite low as compare to other predecessors and competetiorss.
Ride Quality & Handling - Well in comfort and ride quality can be imagined with the feel that you are sitting on an elephant........ and riding on a road with a speed of 120kmph... althogh elephant do run so fast but this one can............. so far no complaints
Final Words- its being more than 2 months and 2500 kms, i am riding this new safari strome...... so far its a complete joyfull journey with this................will keep here posted with any further info...

Exterior Exterior gives road presence.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interior not having gps n all but dat doesn't mater as I purchased garmin navigation for that. Very spacious and high position sits feel like sittings on elephant. This feel not get in any kind of SUV in this world. Safari storme is very tall Suv.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is very responsible n powerful with good economy. Gears are very smooth to shift.
Ride Quality & Handling Very first class ride. If not apply breaks on speed breaker den also not feel any jerk inside at any speed. Very exlent grip on road.
Final Words Very great Suv and specious.
Areas of improvement For improvement I think Tata raise the price by few lakhs but it should include more luxurious features like electronic sit adjustments, Sunroof, automatic transmission version, Hid headlights, etc.

Poor, very poor I have a Safari Storme and it has stopped twice in between of road for overheating, both the times it was shown in the service centre but i am not very hopeful. If it would have been honda or other good company it might have replaced the car but i tell u TATA is just not open to resolve the problem of customers, we also have a honda city in which once there was problem during warranty, person from workshop came and changed the entire set within some hours of complaint. Whereas TATA at my cost is doing the R&D as in the first instance of overheating a trail of 40 kms was taken to check the problem, thereafter, i drove for 4000 kms again the car stopped for overheating my god.

In my opinion there are better car in this price range which atlest gives the guarantee of engine

Exterior Looks very nice and stylish but due to high ground clearance people say it looks a bit unstable.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Tata has worked a lot on interior quality but they have lots more to improve. I like the soft armrests and the plastic touches feels nice but they sound too hollow and I canactually see the molding lines on the woodgrains. Also the gearknob and the power button of our car started peeling off.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox I really don't know well as i use a driver but I am pretty impressed about the performance this car shows. The gearbox can be shit or heaven depending on the driver's skill. I find it very smooth so people who has gearbox problems and complain about it just needs to admit they drive horribly.(shifting gears at low rpms,using high gears in traffic ,accelerating and braking like a maniac)fuel economy is not so poor considering it has a tiny engine in a huge car. (It's like playing tennis with a basketball or a badminton raket).
Ride Quality & Handling I used to ride an elantra and a hundai agera(grandeur)back in korea. I don't know which one but either the poor indian roads or the marshmellow soft spring makes me carsick. It smoothens most of the bumps but after the process the car rolls a bit. As the storme was the most comfortable suvs I've ever rode,I guess im a bit sensitive.
Final Words I like my car a lot. The giant size and the sturdyness you get once your inside the car makes you feel proud of your car.It has lots of advantages compared to competitive suvs (Ex disk breaks, poeerfull ac,great ride quality) This is a decision you won't regret.
Areas of improvement Better engine. As i wrote, playing tennis with a basketball with badminton rackets. The basketball is the car and the badminton racket is the engine.
