      Exterior

      I like the best looks of the front,it's massive having the feeling of a massive car.Tail lamps are not so good,but it's always better and gives good visibility for the people driving at our back,especially lorry drivers who can see the tail lamps blinking at their height. It's tall car and getting in and out is easy.Especially for a tall guy like me also the high seats when compared to other hatches it's great.I was wondering before buying this car comparing with figo that it has flexible bumpers,but it was not stated in vista,but actually it too has flexible bumpers,doesn't get damaged in our heavy traffic.Infact i once had a small impact but there was no damage on the bumper. It's a heavy car and can be felt from the weight of the bonnet. I just love it.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

      I like the most spacious interiors,it's loaded with feautures,but still as i stated the colour combination if it were been chosen wisely by tata it would never have been felt like others say 'cheap'. But i would never say at any point that for this price any manufactures would give these features except for the new competitor Ford. The seat belt warning,automatic door locks getting activated after 10kmph,and the theatre dimming light all makes it feel luxurious. The best part is i like the design of this steering wheel in this aura plus variant. Ther's load's of space everywhere.The visibility at the front is a question,becoz i am not able to look the front ends of the car.but nowadays it's getting very common in today's car's becoz of their european styling and pedestrian safety and things like that.

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

      It's been just 600kms.no noise inside the cabin,but definitely i feel the difference between the old vista's and my new drivetech vista,gear shift is not so much but still better than the earlier vista.Engine is power hub after the turbo kicks at 1750.but earlier shifting on 4th and 5th at 1000 rpm would make it bit hard to react on the highways.But on the whole it's great car. it's very easy to drive even in the city.While sitting inside i feel it's a big car but while driving it's very easy.

      Ride Quality & Handling

      The best part. Didn't even feel a bit of road irregularity inside the cabin except for the sound of the road thud,tat's all. I heard of the body roll,but i took some good turns at 75 to 80kmph,but didn't feel much,may be i dont know they hav made some changes to the suspension setup of drivetech4,not sure. On the whole i am satisfied.

      Final Words

      The best car for the budget ppl and for those who want best comfort equivalent to higher models and more features.but i think may be on the handling side not still upto the mark of the swift but the drivetech4 version is much better to the earlier vista. But for me it's a gem of a car.i am beggining to love it.Initially was worried about many ppl sayin abt bad experiences of the service and dealers,but i didn't feel anything like that after my first free service.

      Areas of improvement  

      the underneath botton sheetmetal part used for lifting the car using the jack looks awkward,not in good shape. Could incorporate or provide 195 section tires for high end variants just like fiat and VW.

      Dear All, I am a first timer to a car forum on a website. But regular reader of Carwale. After going thru lots of reviews and advices I opted the Vista Safire Aura model. Earlier I was having right from Maruti 800, Maruti Alto, Maruti Swift and Chevy Spark. All these cars really good in those catagories respectively. But none of them are really spacious for 5 people which I was really looking for.

      When Vista Launched in 2008 I really liked the car but did not want to take a risk as it was relatively new model and decided to wait. After closely watching it thru car forums for one year I was some what satisfied that Vista Safire is good value for money car.

      Finally I bought the Aura model (Marine Silver) from Concord, Chennai during Diwali season. The OTR price is 4.2 lacs after discount (Free insurance and exchange offer).

      So far I have driven 900 Kms. The feel is really good. Like driving Sedan. Really spacious. Comfortable Driving postion (courtesy: Driver seat Hight Adujustment and Steering Wheel Adustment and also Lumber Support ( Only In vista in this catagory)). Road grip is excellent eventhough the wheel size is 13 Inches. If it would be 14 inches the ride quality would be much more better..but Mileage :(.

      The heaviness of the car (more than one ton) is really good factor for steadyness on high speed but troubles the puny 1.2 FIRE engine a lot in initial pickups. I drove morea than 500 Kms in my 900 Kms on highway. After crossing 60 Kmph the story is entirely different. You can over take any vehicle. The pickup is excellent. But if you happen to apply break or reduce speed below 50 the entire momentum goes down and you need to step down the gears to regain the speed. The fun is lost by that time. This part is little irritating. You need to Rev the Engine hardly which may result lesser mileage. If you are very patient press the pedal gently to save some fuel. The breaking is excellent. Very crisp even on 100kmph you would feel confident while applying break. Gears are bit stiff (may be new car) but sharp. All my earlier cars including swift had problen in reverse gear. Never fell in slot in first push itself. But in Vista all gears fall in possiton with out any hiccups ( FIAT eh :-))

      I felt some what irritated about the power steering of vista. Bit stiff and tough. The FUN of EPS in Swift is missing here. I drove Swift for 2 years. It was really fun to drive (only because of its power steering). Very effortles and confident cornering. But in Vista its missing. For this heavy car the power steering should be more effective. I hope this could be rectified in my first service.

      In city drive the car pulls really good. Better than Swift. My swift needed frequent gear shift in city traffic. But Vista moves without any jerks even on 20kmph at 4th gear.(Think about its just 1.2 engine and its weight) The engine is really well tuned. 96 bhp at just 3500 rpm. I think its really good. Experts what you say?.

      Where as in Swift even in 2nd gear in 20Kmph the engine would beg you to shift to 1st gear. Vista is really good for slow moving bumper to bumper traffic.

      Above all...THE MILEAGE..Vista gave me just 12.5 KMPL on highway. I did not check in city. IT must be lower than that. But I drove with 100% AC on with 100 kmph almost.

      Hope mileage would improve to atleast 15KMPL on highway.

      My elderly parents and my grand ma really enjoyed the rear seat ride for more than 100 Kms journey because of more legroom and large rear seat. I feel...its better than any entry level sedans. Boot is ok. Sacrificed for passenger comfort in rear.

      The company fit Clarion Music system is with average sound quality. On high volumes only it shows some grunt. otherwise its very normal.

      Switch controls are much better than earlier indicas. The pedals are really smooth. No vibration on pedals like in Maruti Vehicles. Spark was good in that way. The rattle and vibration free car it is. The same is Vista too. I was really surprised that the Vista is really rattle free even on very bad roads. And there is no cabin noice too ( WROOOOM sound) on bad roads. But it was there in my all Maruti cars. The build quality is really good in Vista.

      And one more important thing is the suspension. Vista's suspension is a way head from Swift. Too good suspension like luxury Sedans like Honda City ( Am I talking too much?...but true...)

      My only concerns are Mileage of Safire engine and stiff steering wheel and low pickup which are pinching my Feeling Good Factor of this excellent car. But I am preparing to live with it since we all know NO ONE IS PERFECT.

      Please give your valueable feedback for this first timer. The Vista Safire owners please share your thoughts and ideas too.

      Exterior: excellent car of its class.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort): acres of space both driving seat and back, long journey i not that comfortable for the accelator is positioned that makes leg pain. Maruti alto maruti 800 has very good access for leg rest on long drive. Any way the car is superspaceous. The car can be 4 star graded

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox: sounds slightly when doors are opened. But i understand this is common in almost all diesel engines.

      Ride Quality & Handling: smooth. but low powered in 1st two gears.

      Steering is not that soft as it has to be. the word power steering has no meaning in this car.

      Final Words: I have test driven this car of my friend for a few kms and using now and then. GO for the car. You feel like a king while driving. comapred to other cars of this segment, this is really a family car. Definitely better than santro, alto wagon R etc.

      Areas of improvement: car better than maruti in cost n quality but POOREST SERVICING.

      I am damn angry at this. Many of my friends, even i experienced some incidents.

      Whats the fun in selling a car without service? Even TV manufacturers worth a few thousands bother much  in satisfying their customers in servicing. Some car manufacturrs NEVER EVER THINK OF PROPER SERVICE.

      Crores were spent in releasing new cars. New models and even extra features WHAT FOR??? IF SERVICE IS NOT EVEN 30%???

      I understand from my friend(s) that Trichy TATA car dealers also RETURN THE CAR BACK TO THE CUSTOMER posing as if serviced,  actually they would not even opned the bonnet it seems.

      SO TATA IF WANT TO REALLY GO UP IN SALES    STRENTHEN SERVICE NETWORK..

      TATA must LEARN FROM Maruti suzuki how to terat n care customers.

      CAN any one tell maruthi cars to be that hi fi at this rate???? Most of them NEVER  but its their servicing network n dedication to customers satisfaction that made them succesfull sellers.

      Customers adjust with what ever petty defects in the car  for their angers get pacified in servicing by maruti people. HOPE TATA never tell TATA to their own customers in near future.

      Indica Vista Saffire Auram is a very well designed car giving comfort of a luxary car. Noise, Harshness & Vibrations are comparing with likes of Ford Fiesta.
      It has a Smooth pickup! The Audio system providing USB option allows one to leave CD's at home!! No clutter in the car.
      The double door seal keeps the dust out.
      Beige Interiors with minor flaws is pleasing & balanced.
      The passenger space is very roomy both in the front and rear seat. A tall person sits comfortably without stress.
      The Lumbar support in the front seats is a great stress beater for long drives.
      Height Adjustable Driver's Seat allows the driver to adjust amply to rest the right elbow on the elbow sill.
      Not to mention the height adjustable steering wheel!!
      The Instrument cluster position in the center is a well designed specially the Clock!!
      Airconditioning and the controls are having finesse.
      The suspension is smooth, even on rough road, the noise is remarkably low.
      It outruns all competition by miles, I look forward to a huge success for the Indica Vista.
      Overall a great package.
      Excellent VFM, Height Adj Driver Seat & Lumbar Support are features of Luxary, Rear Seat is comfySlightly Underpowered,

      Exterior The new looks are very good. Look like a strong car and I feel it is very strong compared to swift,polo and figo.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Drastic change in the interior. Tata has reached the top level by introducing such an excellent finish car.

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Befor purchase, I took a test drive of swift diesel,figo,polo and Vista VX. The performance of Vista VX is uncomparable.

      Ride Quality & Handling After I took the vehicle me and my brother  had taken the car to Munnar and and found very good in ride quality. When we travelled to Trichy, we found the breaking is excellent evenat a speed of 100-140kms where swift breaking is the worst. My earlier swift I sold only because of this.

      Final Words Do not buy any other hatchbacks if you doesn't have any problem in buying an Indian car with international quality.

      Areas of improvement The band indica can be removed.

      I brought the Tata Vista Quardrajet LS last October, I have done about 7000km and here is my users experience.

      Before the indica vista flashed on my radar, I had checked out on the Chevy Beat diesel after waiting for a month for its launch for over a month. What went against the car was its price, an over funky look for a person of my age and almost shoulder tackling with the sales lady sitting beside me every time I tried to check the car handling by taking a sharp right turn during the test drive. It left me feeling like I was oversized for the car. The last nail in the box was my wife’s comment that she will have to carry a novel every time she will have to sit in the back as she can’t see much from the rear view windows except for the sky. So the cute little Chevy Beat was ticked off.

      My last car was a Maruti so the Swift was next on the radar, the black interiors and the feeling of lack of space and almost 70g extra price were some of the things that too went against it. I even walked into the Mahindra showroom to check on the verito, which immediately reminded me that I am not wearing a bellbottom pant with a peace sign and don’t have hippy style long whiskers and side locks, a total 70s Hollywood flicks looks.

      Next came the Tata, all the nightmarish reviews and warnings and the red flags about going for a Tata car was set aside when I walked in to Lexus Motors Kolkata showroom. The sales boy a young kid, first showed me the Tata Indica ev2 as he thought would fit my budget, but something told me I will have a Chevy Beat shoulder tracking experience with my fellow passenger in it too, so it was out. And then I test drove the vista. And that was it.

      You know something you got to have when u want it and so it was in my case. I fell in love with it after the test drive. It made me feel like I was driving a big car and I was the king of the road, no shoulder tackling and no novels for my wife when she sits on the back seat. I loved the power and the sound of the engine the almost zero vibration and no cabin noise. The car was a rocket after the 1st gear shift.

      My running is not much may be 500 to 600km per month. Except in long drives with friends or family, the car is flawless.

      I  use regular diesel, refusing to fall for anything more that’s hawked by the oil companies. I get an average of approx 16 to 17 in the Kolkata traffic and about 20 to 22 in the highways always with AC on.

      The drive and the handling quality is above average though the car is not meant for too much of zip zap zoom type of driving and don’t take high speed turning too well. The steering feedback could have been better and the gear shift needs improvement and so is the breaking. But if you are not looking for a driver’s car, but something that will take you from point A to point B in very good comfort and safety then this one is surely at the top of the list of the hatchbacks currently available. It has great leg rooms both for the front and the rear passengers.

      The AC is not great though but then it has a awful lot of space to cool. So one has to give it a while, before its effect is felt. I have found no quality issues in the plastic quality of the interiors, except the widow openers that almost threaten to come off when u are pulling down the windows. I am hesitant to install a power window that will bulge like a potato in the place of the window opener, unless I find a solution that will install a power window on the door arm rest like in the original fitted Tata Indicas till then I have decided to wait. I am hampered a bit by the lack of LHS RV something the Tata always say they don’t have in stock.

      On my second service I insisted on the engine oil change but the concerned person convinced me otherwise, advising me to get the oil changed only at 10000km. I how ever got the antirust coating done in the underbelly keeping in mind the monsoons.

      Recently I have installed a music system a modest Pioneer DEH-1490UB with matching 4 Sony speakers that fits exactly in the same place where the original Tata speakers are supposed to be. The sound quality is nothing to die for, but my rock and blues sounds ok in volume 12 on a long drive. Anything is better than the Blaupunkt that comes from the company’s stable. I have also installed the Autocop Terminator central locking system which till now has worked fine for me along with a decent quality seat cover (tight fit). My next in line will be GPS navigation and Alloys.

      In the end I must say if you are looking for a set of wheels that looks good makes u feel like a big car owner and want to travel in peace and safety and don’t like surprises, nasty or otherwise this is the car for you at a price point which is very competitive. And I am a happy owner.

      Hello frinds,

      I waited and waited not to write this review and spoil the image of fantastic makeover of Indica (the same I thought at the time of purchase), however can't stop myself after suffering so much.

       I bought a tata indica Vista TDi on 10th of Jan 2009 as I had to travel to Noida (60 Kms up and down to my office daily). i was drolled over to see the space , comfort and feeel of the car and believed that after aquiring the companies like Jaguar, things would change however an irony still that it's the same Tatas again.

      Day 2 of my purchase (10th Jan) power windows illumination went off, asked Sanya Motors Okhla (Delhi) to replace it...answer, we do not have the part avalable.

      Another month another problem... While heading for a dinner, my car borke down, reason...power steering oil leaked and steering was jammed. Car was towed to a gurudwara next door and me and my family travelled by an auto back to home.

       The car was taken to Sanya Motors Okhla -Delhi, and the pipe was changed. ...next month and the month after that (3rd time) I faced the same problem. Again,as the resolution the pipe was changed only saying that it will not happen again as the service engineer Amrik Singh said that it was ratteling of the pipe which lead to that.......

      It's 12 of june (6th month of my purchase) it has happened again (4th time) !!!! Standing at the middle of the road at 12:30 at night have no option to tow this car at my home and again be without car for anther 3-4 days.

      I use to flaunt for this car , now i am ashamed of my decition to buy the same....I use to think that people were fool saying that Tata's quality is not good, now i think I am fooled by themselves.....Mr. Tata are you listning???

       Please do not even think to buy this car,  go for swift LDI or VDI if you can afford the same and have peace of mind for at leaset releibilty of Maruti brand as i have esteem as my second car with 10 years of hasslefree ownership.

      I am sensible enough to understand that manufacturing defects happen, but not for 4 times in 6 months.....Please if somone can help me with the compaint cell / the person responsible who can solve this rediculas issue it will be great !!!

      Exterior Good looking, sporty.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Spacious, Luxurious fill, Very comfortable, Good AC, Tilt adjustable steering.

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Very good, Fuel economy is good, Gearbox is sligtly harsh.

      Ride Quality & Handling I have purchased Tata indica vista Acqua 20 days before. When i took test taste drive, i surprised even in AC i t did not loos power. I totally satisfied. as compared to Swift Diesel it is about 50000 cheaper and also most features added in it which was awsome. It is really value for money. It is answer to all those who always criticized Tata cars. I always suggest to purchase it without any dout.Excellent, Handling is very good.

      Final Words Great value for money. It gives luxury fill, great power, and great handling. I am proud to be the owner of the Tata Duratech Quadrajet Vista. Wheel base is very good. Power steering is very nice.  Awesome.

      Areas of improvement Plastic quality should improved.

      Exterior is not that much good because of unique design pattern of tata indica series. but tata has managed to give indica vista refresh as the look as Manza. its pretty good.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) are good, it comes with 4 spoke sttering with audiocontrols, blue five system for handsfree connectivity, bt the beige interiors will get dirt more easily.

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine performance is very good btween 1500-2250 rpm fuel economy is also good but tata has to make litlle more advances in gearshifting.

      Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality and controllability is good and VX comes with ABS which gives more comfort.

      Final Words Good car when we need to get features loaded car at an affordable price comes loaded with ABS, BLUE5, STEERING MOUNTED AUDIO+PHONE CONTROLS, CHROME DETAILED GRILLE,CHROME DETAILED RUBRAILS,CHROME DETAILED FOGLAMPS,FIATS QUADRAJET ENGINE, AND A LOT OF SPACE.

      Areas of improvement Gearshifting, interiour colour.

      Exterior Good sleek look.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Excellent space both in front and rear.in rear seat. 3,  6ft plus people can sit comfortably ( which is not possible in any other hatchback).

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine performance excellent in both city and highway.

      Ride Quality & Handling Comfortable ride even over pot holes. powerful quadrajet engine gives you the sudden burst of acceleration to overtake slow moving buses trucks and three wheelers bot in city and highways. ABS brakes ensures sudden safe stops even at speeds of 80 kms. Have driven even on ghat sections in ooty, kodai kanal etc and in these roads also excellent performance.

      Final Words Was working abroad since early nineties and have driven all international models and am  proud to say our desi Indica Vista compares well with all these brands. Have just done 12000 kms on my Vista and am very happy.  when friends sit in my car the first comment they say-Wow Tata has come out with a really excellent car!

      Areas of improvement Can provide with a better stereo system in high end models.

      Good fuel economy, good road grip,excellent leg room for 6ft 80 kg plus people like me,powerful acclcan provide a better stereo system in high end models
