I own older version of skoda fabia 1.4 and overall it's a good car. Fuel economy could be better given the size and weight of a car, it's about 7l/100km.
But the fact that trunk is being opened from the inside of the car (lever at the edge of a driver seat) is make me want to take a bat and brake it on fabia everytime I need something out of the trunk. Basically you need to leave the door open when you unlock the trunk, if they close pressure will close the trunk door too.
Otherwise this car is great. If fuel consumption would be about 1l less per 100km and trunk could be open classically it would be great.
As said driving it is a pleasure, engine is nice and quiet, handling is also very good and size sure comes handy when looking for a parking place. Overall I recommend this car (in decent shape or new) to anyone who wants nice ride for not so much money.

with the kind of money you pay, i think this is by far the best car your money can buy. the car handles amazingly, even at 100 kmph and even at 20 kmph. the built quality is simply awesome and you can feel the same the moment you step on the paddle.
on the interior it is very spacious, i have a big family and everyone is comfortable even with three passengers at the rear. the boot space is superb, it can accomodate my kids, pram and a 2 small suitcases and a couple of handbags. the cabin feels rich and quiet, however there is this ac fan noise that keeps disturbing you, that the skoda engineers told me is of the play coming from the fan. hoever i still feel skoda can add a few more features like, automatic climate control, sunroof and steering mounted music controls, if they wish to compete in the premium hatch market.
the fuel economy is worst, the maximum i get in city drive is a 10 KMPL and a 14 kmpl on highways. don't ever give in to the sales talk that the sales guy of skoda might give you during your inquiry. the claim is of 18 point something and never have i even crossed 15. the best that i got during my mumbai-pune expressway drive was 15, only because i drove the vehicle within the economy band of 70-80 KMPH which is also supposed to be the ideal test condition.
service network is a little poor, and slow. however once you know your service advisor well, its a piece of cake. servicing cost is at par with other cars in the same category, bearing in mind the fact that by the time you do your first servicing, other cars would have done 3 or probly four. my car has never gone to the workshop apart form the regular service. i bought my car in 2009 and have clocked 46000 and my car's been to the service station only thrice, coz the service interval is at every 15000 kms.
overall the car is a wonderful package and comes from a very reliable house and also gives a premium car feel. the Brand Skoda is more respected that the others in this segment.

amazing performance tried 200Km top speed although it does shake after 170 but before 170 its sooo good and even at 200 it doesnt have any much problem although takes times to accelarate after 160kmph(mind it i am reveiwing about 1448cc i.e;1.4L ambiente)

very good riding ,shockers are real good even after 30000 km and 2 servicing its as good as new..and milege has gone up now i am getting 14 in town with AC and 22 on hoghway if i dont accelarte more than 120 but its hardly possible on good roads u reach 150 easily and u dont feel anything,, braking is also superb.

Exterior Smart looks. I think Fabia has the smartest look. The front grill fives it a very aggressive feel. The bodOtis tough and will not get damaged easily.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The car is very spacious including the boot. The extra features of cup holders and the aux input are well positioned. The dashboard is also pretty smart.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Fuel economy is around 11 in city and 13 on the highway for the petrol version. you can get acceleration only on the 3rd gear. The car jerks when you change gears. at constant speed it can really be smooth on the ride quality.

Final Words The only problem with Fabian is after sales service. The workshops in Mumbai are in the suburbs onlyspares spares are expensive and you do not have any AMC after the 2nd year. The service quality at the work shop is very bad. 2 to 3 trips to rectify problems is quite common. I have taken my car to more than 1 workshop and they all ignore the customer concerns and complaints. Skoda does not seem to be too strict about its workshop qualities. Smaller parts are also not stocked in the workshops.
Areas of improvement If soda does not improve its after sales it will loose the good will it received from its good quality cars.

Once you shut the door you feel they are of higher class like a BMW thud, Lights for passanger and glove box are good. The bottle compartment in the front doors take any size of minery water kinley or bisleri.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox When idling engine noise can be a let down especially when driving the city like mumbai and when someone like me who does not enjoy music a lot and likes silence or talking on mobile, Little slow not like swift [ being driving it since 07 VDI ] gr8 fuel economy mumbai daman 27 km/li with ac speed 80 to 100 morning hrs. The car lets you enjoy the dirve especially if you change from swift where you enjoy going fast. Gearbox is spot on but a reverse on the front side takes time getting used too
100 kms is no big task peacefull. Fuel economy the best at 100 kms rpm only 2200 to 2400 important cabin very silent.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Internal Features are nice, gives u feel like having a luxury car; 2. Space: Very nice in its classl 3. Comfort: Best in its class.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox: Engine Performance is very nice, 10-12 kmpl within city and 14-16 kmpl on highway @ 80-100 kmph speed and 17-18 kmpl @ 70-80 kmph., GEAR BOX: Its nice but sometimes I feel first gear kicks may be due to single fly wheel, so clutch should pressed nicely to get smooth ride on first gear.

Final Words: I would like to drive another class of SKODA into my Family but more of what I feel SKODA needs to work is in the After SALE SERVICE, please.

Happy with this engine performance, I ran this car in 150 Kmph, the good thing is you did not fear if you are driving on a such high speed because you have a trust on the European Car build quality and not like the single sheeted car , welded body and uncontroled body weight like Hyundai and Suzuki.

Ride quality is too smooth and handlig is awesome. I have drove Skoda Fabia, Santro, Swift, i20, Indica, VW Polo, Honda Accord, Skoda Laura on the same road lots of big names in the list but I'm comapring the same segemet cars so i got the best ride quality in VW polo and Skoda Fabia, rest gave me a feel like I'm travelling in Sea Boat :D :P

should beLow maint, spare parts should be in cheap rate, can be increased in average............one good thing is that its first servicing dues after a year/1500km. This save frequent visit of service centre. All the parts are costlier as compare to other car. I think i have mistaken otherwise I could have chosen any verity of MARUTI SUZUKI, the car of INDIA.Do not have good service centre in small city of india. So it is risky to take in small cities. People who are in transferrable job suffer because of this reason. Otherwise, in average it is good car and having a good attraction. People got a topic if you possess this car.

Exterior Exterior wise its a good car. Solid built. no doubt.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interior not very attractive, but decent enough. Cant expect much from skoda in this regard.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox It is quite good to be frank. Even petrol engines need only few gear shifts in city driving conditions. It gives about 12 km per l. Not very bad right? And gear box is smooth. Even clutch,brakes are smooth. No doubt!
Ride Quality & Handling Smooth enough to appease you. Figo has a better ride quality than Fabia.
Final Words Service is very very poor!!! (slow). Not trying to express my exasperation on Skoda, but I am just trying to be sincere. Who doesnt get annoyed for letting their car be in workshop for more than 3 months for a minor damage from heavy rain.
Areas of improvement After some minor damage from heavy rain, we've given it for service. And by now its three months and they are still working on the problem. This is really a very shoddy remark on Skoda. Skoda needs to improve a lot, a lot, a lot on doing things quickly.
Service has to be improved tremendously.

Exterior The look of the car is robust. Built quality is SUPERB.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Spacious sufficiently. Cabin is little noisy, Good boot space. Some features like automatic door lock, electrically adjustable ORVM should be included.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Excellent! It ticked 49000km in 2.5 years but mileage is still 18.5kmpl in city and highway 21kmpl. Some lag up to 2000rpm and needs gear shifting for faster pickup. Easily reaches 160km/hr with full passenger capacity and full boot.
Ride Quality & Handling Little bulky in city specially for parking. Excellent ride experience in City and on highway. Safe even if you break hard without ABS. Superb built, met with accident twice but escaped unhurt. Very stable even at high speed.
Final Words Not for speed freaks...! Go for it if you want calm driving and enjoy.
