Hi, I was looking for a good looking hatchback/Compact SUV car under 8 Lakhs to upgrade from my 2nd hand Swift ZXI.
I was considering several options in Tata Altroz, Grand I10 NIOS. But, I finally settled for Renault Triber looking into the kind of space, great looks and excellent value for money the car was offering.
Buying Experience and service:
I ran into NCR Motors Renault showroom, Sohna Road, Gurgaon and had a great buying experience from the dealer. The dealer offered us best deal and on the spot availability of the RXZ variant in Mustard Color. After buying the car I never had to visit the showroom for anything. My car number plate, RC everything was delivered to me at my home and the dealer showed great customer service with respect to response, information and service regarding the overall buying. The dealership connected me to the customer service over a whatsapp group as well and all information related to car was readily available to me.
My 2000 km's service was a good experience as well where the car was collected from my office and was delivered to my office where the service engineer had taken down the points raised by me and taken care of the same.
Engine Performance:
I have driven approximately 5000 km's in last 3 months and the car is absolute stunner with highway mileage 17-19kmpl and city mileage 14-16 km/l. I was a little concerned in the starting with respect to the engine performance for high power requirements but I drove the car from Delhi to Mussoorie and the car very easily climbs very steep hills with ease with 4 passengers on board. The pickup is also fine and doesn't feel underpowered with 4-5 people on board. The engine is not noisy at all inside the cabin and you can have a nice comfortable ride.
A turbo option is a must for this car considering a 7 Seater MPV option.
Interiors and features:
The car interiors might not be of greatest quality but it suffices the purpose . I have put box type leatherette seat covers with side cuts in the front seat covers for side airbags. The AC is great with rear vents up to the third row. The storage spaces offered are like in none other car with dual glove boxes in the front , middle cooled storage. Also, the key highlight is the big boot which we get for long trips when travelling with 4-5 passengers by removing the third row easy fix seats. The rear recliner and sliding feature is not available in even costliest of cars. This gives ample comfort for the rear passenger who can even sit with crossed legs without any discomfort.
Some major cons:
1. Even in the top variant some basic features are lacking like Automatic Climate Control, Alloy wheels, steering mounted control and driver seat armrest. Anyone would expect these in the top variant. I wouldn't have mind paying 30-50k extra for these features as they are. very basic things for me.
2. The infotainment system is not best of the lot with some lag in basic operations. The Android Auto is not wireless which creates fuss many times.
Overall the car is a good buy for anyone who is looking for a spacious car for up to 4-5 people regularly and sometimes can be used for 6-7 people as well with basic features.
