You will have to compromise on the comfort if you buy this. Looks and style is fine, but the moment you sit in you feel cheated and you start cursing the decision. It's a SUV from exterior and a normal car from inside. From inside, it does not qualify anyway closer to any of the SUV's in this world.The leg space for the driver is really cramped. The comfort has gone for a toss. Especially, last rear seats have too low space. It should have been taken off and could have been made a 2 seater SUV
The doors are making lot of noise as if the material used is of low quality to fit the vehicle in budget.
So buy and park it outside your house, but dont drive. Its a clear compromise if you buy this. Its better to opt for a proper sedan or spend more to get a better SUV

I purchased Renault Duster 110 PS RXL Diesel 4 months back. Have already driven more than 10K kilometers... Initially I was a in a dilemma on seeing multiple negative reviews here. But, after owning the vehicle and driving a few thousand kms, I really don't feel any reason to regret my decision. Most of the negative ratings are based on poor after sales service by Renault, but I feel that it has been improved a lot. Duster is awesome in looks and performance. Gives good fuel economy, excellent comfort, great performance... Duster is the best SUV in the segment.

I purchased the vehicle 4 Months back and have already driven 10K kilometers.
I really like the vehicle, and would recommend the same to everyone. So if you like the vehicle, go for it... Don't really mind the negative reviews here.

Final Words I am using the Duster (110 PS-RXL Diesel) for the past 25 months and done 59000 kms. I have spent more than 60000 rupees only for periodic services. I had to change the drum,brake pad etc twice during this period which cost dearly. High maintenance cost due to frequent replacement of many critical parts of the vehicle, which indicates poor quality materials used. Had to take vehicle for service before the stipulated time due to various complaints. The service provided by the dealer has detoriated over a period. Many complaints raised by me related to the faulty electric system were not attended properly by the dealer due to lack of knowledge. Not worth the price.
Areas of improvement Only engine is reliable..all other materials are inferior in quality. Interior features also need improvement. Service standard should improve.

Exterior Excellent looks from front,side and specially from the rear. Wheel size and arch are the centre of attraction.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Five months of driving covering 18000 kms, the defogger light is not working and there is irritating noise from rear wheels which is yet to be rectified by the service centre at Guwahati inspite of two visits for the same.Space in the rear is best for two normal sized person, another thin person can be accomodated.I would prefer 4 persons for long drives.Driving and comfort is excellent.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is very smooth however it requires some time to heatup to a normal range in Tawang in Arunachal |Pradesh a high altitude town with very low temperature. Gears needs some refinement.
Ride Quality & Handling Riding quality is top grade. Handling and driving on up and downhill roads of North East region of India is excellent.
Final Words Inspite of all this no regrets, but during my drive to Sangetsar lake situated in the Chinese border in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh,the need for a 4wd was evident.
Areas of improvement Gear box, door noise and electrical switches need to be looked into.

Exterior Looks fantastic on the road, robust and wide. It is a head turner really. I loved the shape of the car as it complements its looks.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The interior is a bit dull, it could have been more stylish. The mirror controls are hard to get used to due to their positioning. However, the seating is comfortable. The rear ac is a bit annoying, I always end up nudging it with my elbow 😱
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox I love how it glides on even the baddest of roads. On city roads it gives around 15 kmpl and on the highway close to 17 which is very good according to me. The 6 speed manual transmission makes the ride smooth.
Ride Quality & Handling Driving pleasure is very good and manuevering in the traffic is easy. I love taking long drives in my Duster, I guess that says it all. The potholes on the roads do not matter anymore.
Final Words Best buy and value for money for those who want to buy a good SUV.

I bought Renault Duster 2 years back, just a week after its launch.
It has run 45000Kms and this is the 5th time i need to replace the brake pads and lather.
Everytime company tells me Sir you wont need to come back for brake pads for atleast a year or 40,000kms but every 7000-9000 kms i need to get them replaced.
My uncle has the same car and model. So i exchanged mine with him to see if the problem is driving. In 2 months again my car being driven by my uncle needs a replacement but his being driven by me doesn't. This clearly shows that my car has some problem that their service stations cant fix and blame is always on the driving pattern and wear & tear.
There is no contact details of their high ranking officials to whom customers can contact and neither will they ever give it you since they are i guess busy making money by fooling customers.
Yesterday i sent my car for service and the servie station said "Sir your brake pads wont last long, Change Kardun". Thats when i decided to let people know what shitt they've been pouring over their customers.

Exterior I had liked the duster before it came to India. Amongst the typical 'smiley face' cars this looked different.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The interior is nice witohut it being two affluent. initially one may find placement of a few switches inconvenient but one later gets used to it. My family of 4 sits very comfortable with ample leg room for both front and rear passengers. We are a family of roadies so we have done several long road trips , including Delhi kolkata a number of times. And it has never been a strain. The AC is very effcient and functions even in peak summers effectively.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox A fantastic car to drive especially on the highways. There is power available for for those sudden overtakings. The handling is exceptional with the steering being nicely weighted. The road grip of the duster is excellent maybe due to its wide stance. I have driven my car on the highways in pouring rain without any problem of skid. The engine is not too thirsty and we have clocked mileages of 17 km / litre on highways. The mileage may vary depending on speed . The best milages happen at an RPM of 1800 . The gearbox is smooth.
Ride Quality & Handling Excellent. We have driven close to 800 km nonstop witohut excessive fatigue.
Final Words A great car to buy if one is fond of long distance driving.
Areas of improvement A few more features for safety wrt airbag should be mandatory in all models. The quality of plastic inside can be improved.

Exterior Full marks for the exterior. Looks so amazing that I could not stop admiring it before I took the test ride. The car looks sharp and very impressive.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Rear space is a big disappointment. The seating space says 5 can sit comfortably. I doubt that. A person with 6 feet height cannot sit comfortably as leg space sucks big time. There is no finishing in the plastic handles. The quality is so cheap that one even came out during the test drive. If you plan to drive with just luggage or a pet on the rear seat, the car is for you. Else dont think of buying it.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Pick up is not great. For a SUV compared to 2 other cars I saw, the drive is a disappointment.

Final Words The showroom in Pune is the worst dealership I have ever been to. The receptionist tried to ignore when we asked for any sales person. The service people should "seriously" visit some other showrooms to learn how the customer is treated. There was no one to guide us or ask what car we wanted. We had to locate the sales person ourself as if we were the needy ones. If this is the service standard before we buy, what should we expect the standard for after sales? A third grade service.
