I just got new Swift Dezire VDI after a hell lot of 1 month research and confusion between AVEO And Dezire. However, i now feel, i made a right decision by going for Swift Dezire...Especially when I put my leg onto Accelerator and the car crosses 2000 RPM in 2nd gear...Honestly My Car Fly's...!!!! And secondly, when i stop by a diesel station for fuel...!! Dont know about FE yet, as im new to it, however heard wud easily give 18 kmpl...Lets see if i can take out more or less.....
Interiors arent that great..however they arent that bad even...
Great car, great performance, dont know whether it would still be the same going forward...but its real FUN driving, as i feel the POWER and ENERGY when i accelerate..!!!

I have been using swift VDI since apr 2009 and has done 19000 till date. However this car is not fully loaded with features unlike other cars,this is sure to be one of the best car in its class. It is fuel efficient,powerful,comfortable and a value for money car, the driving position is fantastic and the seats are too very comfortable. I use this car mostly in city and it gives around 15-18 kms/ltr with A/c on. It has a very powerful 1.3 DDiS engine which can do 0-100 in around 13.5sec which makes fantastic to drive it. Wait for 2000rpm till the turbo opens and then it is a rocket. The seats are very comfortable. Offers a good thigh support. However the brakes are not very effective. It has to be improved. Other than that, this car is surely a bang for ur buck.:)
Ride Quality & Handling The ride quality is however little harsh in bumpy roads..when it comes to handling department,this is one of the best car around in its class.
Areas of improvement Brakes has to be improved, tyres should have been little broader to offer better road grip,lacks features.
Final words A perfect driver's car under 6 lakhs..!!

Exterior Is very beatuiful and very stylish.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Features are ok but space between the front and the rear seat ie leg room is very less. When it comes for comfort the driver seat is not comfortable since no adjustment is provided in the seat for the driver. If not both the height and front and back adjustments proveded mainly the height adjustments shoudl be made available in all the models right from the basic model as it is not the question of comfort but it is the question of the safety of the driver also. Only when the driver is seated comfortably, he can drive the vehicle safelty.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine performance is good and gearbox is also swift no problem with these arears but again mileage is not so good when compared with other vehicles of the same class.
Ride Quality & Handling Riding quality and handling of the vehicle is very easy and swift. It can be easily handled by ladies also. No problem with it.
Final Words Improve upon mileage and dont make the safety featurees like seat adjustment and tilt steering facility available only on top models. Try to bring in these features from the basic model as these features or not fancy or luxury ones they are the satey ones. You can charge for these things we dont care to pay for this in the basic models rther than other features which are not a must.
Areas of improvement My strong opinion is that Seat (height) adjuster should be provided in all models and it should be catagorised under safety head and not under the head of comfort. Only when the driver is seated comfortably he can drive the vehicle safely. So than any other advanced feature in a car first priotity should be given to the driver seat and it should be compulsory in all the models and people like me are ready to pay extra for this feature which ensures safety than comfort. But for this provision not in the LXi or VXi model I am planning to go for Hyundai i10.

Exterior Looks beautiful from outside,the dynamic styling of the swift has made it relevant in this market.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Though the interior is dark I still like it very much. The way the equipments is placed,the plastic quality is good,looks simple but styling,the back seat is little cramped but thats not a big issue. The comfort level is fair enough.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Performance of the K12 engine in the swift is just brilliant,superb pick up, the fuel economy too has improved,being in there u would feel like flying, the engine has too much of get up, just push the acceletor and feel the pace it has.
Ride Quality & Handling You just compare any car in its segment with the handling swift has, handling and ride quality of the swift is just superb.
Final Words If anyone is going up to buy a car having a budget of approx 5,00,000 definately go for swift, u can't get anything better than it.
Areas of improvement Obviously space inside should be improved but this is not a worried issue since maruti is going to launch the new swift soon.

Exterior Exteriors in the swift are good. Many people have liked the looks which was something unconventional. The metal used for the body seems to be a bit thin and you can feel it when you press on it. The bumpers are of decent quality in can easily absorb small impacts without getting damaged. The outside rear view mirrors fold beckwards as well because of which they do not break easily when a biker/cyclist bangs against them. The steel rims are pretty much standard like in most other cars. The headlights could have been more powerful and is problematic on the highways. As for the fog lamps they are very good and give sufficient visibility in the required conditions.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) In terms of features, this car will not make it to the top of the list. There are many cars out there which have many features in them. While the interiors are better than some manufacturers they could have still been better. Space in the rear row is something that Maruti has not given much thought to and is cramped for 5 full grown adults. The car is just average in terms of comfort. The shock absorbers are just above average and any irregularity in the roads can be felt inside. The comfort could have been much better. Ac also is not great and does not cool the cabin fast in summer. Something Maruti should definitely address ina country like ours
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox This car is a pure performance car. The 1.3l engine is great to drive and easily pulls from slow speeds in higher gears though you can hear some knocking if the speed is too low. Even with 5 people on board the car performs well and is very responsive as well. The gear box is not that great. Sometimes the car slips into neutral while shifting the gear which can get irritating. Also if you stop the car and immediately engage the neutral you will hear the slattering noise without the gear getting slotted but this is there in almost every car.
Since the metal thickness is lesser this vehicle gives good FE at the cost of high speed stability. In city you can get around 12+ depending of how light or heavy your foot on the accelerator is and on highways you can easily get around 15-17kmpl. Not bad for a 1300 cc engine. Highwat stability as mentioned is not good if there are only 1-2 people on board. With people it becomes much better though. Steering is better than some cars but still needs improvement. At high speeds the response is not so good.
Ride Quality & Handling This is not one of the best handling cars out in the market. There are much better cars when it comes to the department of handling. Ride quality is strictly average, could have been much better
Final Words While this cannot be termed as a premium hatch (atleast I would not) it still is a good hatch offering you most features. It performs well and is low on the pocket when it comes to maintenance and FE as well. maruti A.S.S.C. is one of the best around and you wont be disappointed in this area. However certain areas like rear legroom need to be improved. Unfortunately in the new swift they have slightly improved the legroom but the boot space is horrible. Maruti needs to consider this to make it an all round hatch. You can hear rattles at around 15k kms itself.
Areas of improvement Rear leg room, AC, handling, highway stability, overall built quality, headlamp throw.

The car comes with Decent and classy looks, one of the apple of eyes in the market, bulgy muscled looks gives it a Manly feel, where as the big head lamps reminds of the first love of your life.

The car is extremly spacious and with comfortable seats, Good leg-space and Head-Space as well gives you the freedom to relax when you hit highways for long drives, One of the most important Feature the A/C works as it's meant to be, Chills out the cabin in quick time and lets you enjoy the journey at its best.

A well behaved 1.3ltr Powerhous follows your nerves in such a way that you enjoy the power to rule the roads, The Car is a bit thirsty interms of Fuel consompsion however 12-14 in city traffic is acceptable. Changing Gears in traffic is one of the good parts of the car, its smooth.
Ride Quality & Handling
Superb handlelling on high speeds is ideal for the "Speed in blood Guys", Nomatter what the road you are on the cars is comfortable and makes it easy to travel on bumpy roads as usually found in Indian Monsoon season.
Final Words
One of the b est Things i have come accross, been driving since age of 18 but never felt better as with a car as with Swift. It make sme feels as it is a part of me. So Responsive.....!

Buying Swift diesel would constitute a bad buy. Maruti dealers have no experience with diesel. Besides, the swift engine is a very, very complicated. In a diesel car, believe me, something is always breaking down thanks to higher vibrations. Plus a diesel engine in a small car is to begin with a bad idea as the body is not actually built from this level of torture. Combine all these and you'll have 'nightmare on Indian streets' in a year's time. Expect huge replacement costs as mechanics, not knowing what is wrong, will recommend wholesale replacements.
Also, the body of the car is 30% bulkier giving it the 'mini-cooper's mother's look'. A year from now, when the fashion has changed you'd be driving a fat 'dated' and tired toad. Back seat is dark and dingy. Visibility is poor, thanks to fat nose, and nonexistent from the rear. This translates to accidents, loss of limbs, and death. The undercarriage is much bigger that usual. This means more mud accumulation and eventually rust is very inaccessible places.

I had decided to buy a Santro. And then I decided to take a test ride on the slightly more expensive but fully loaded Maruti Suzuki Swift ZXi. Wow! What an experience that was for me. Come to think of it, the whole experience was a blur - booking a Swift within 24 hours of that, and then shamelessly going to the Hyundai dealer for a refund of the advance amount - in my new Swift!!! You know what the Hyundai dealer said? He said that he was happy for me because I chose a superior car, and not something that did not even match the Santro lineup.
The Swift is a completely hassle-free car. The only problems I've had are the ones introduced by service engineers during the scheduled maintenance checkups.
I love how it revs, how you can steer it so comfortably, how the energy on tap just puts you ahead of the crowd in a matter of seconds, and how sitting in one feels like you're the king of the road. I drove about 6000 KM only transporting my sick father to the hospital and back. And I don't remember being concerned about anything except for keeping my tank topped-up. The high ground clearance gives it, sort of, an all-terrain advantage, while keeping the occupants of the car in good balance and comfort.
The car may have slightly inadequate boot and rear seat space. But I have not had any reason to complain or change plans owing to these reasons. I do wish Maruti would throw in something special for existing Swift owners - like the steering controls that come in the newer Swifts.
I'm glad this was my first car. I love my Maruti Suzuki Swift ZXi.
