I was waiting for this cars release and couldn't resist myself from taking the test drive on very first day. As this car is having same engine & it is in the same price bracket (swift is Rs 4000 expensive) there will be obvious comparison with swift.
The diesel engine exactly same as in Swift. The only difference is, it is BS 4 compliant but the sales person fails to give me any reason for it.
Looks wise, this car is slightly compact than swift. I you take a side view, the length of the bonet is reduced moving the engine slightly inside the cabin which makes cabin noisier than swift and I even felt vibration in the car. The angle in the rear view is not very attractive.
Lets talk about comfort. Being a tall bird, this car is having enough of head room so it could be a good option for tall people. Rear sitting is quite comfortable with enough of leg room but the legroom for front seaters are less compare to swift this might be due to moving engine slightly inside the cabin giving compact look. They have given a big speedo meter by shifting rpm meter up on the dashboard but still the speedo meter becomes invisible in normal sitting position when stearing wheel is turned. There is no difference in boot space compare to swift. The good thing, is it is having 60:40 ratio on rear seat which give more luagage space by folding the rear seat partially & also having space for a person sitting at the rear. this option is missing in swift.
when we talk about fuel economy, the mileage should be same as swift but as this car is heaver than swift so I think should be slightly lesser but not a remarkable difference. Company is claiming 21.1 km/l
Again, Zdi option not avialable.
All in all its worth paying Rs. 4000 more and buy a swift diesel then Ritz
Cheers!!
Good fuel economynoisy cabin, vibration
