Just like any other maruti car it has mediocar look. Height and width is just right for city driving and occasional highway outings.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)
Despite having smaller length, it provides good interior space. Probably because of smaller engine compartment. Beige Interior looks very pleasant and spacious.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
Petrol engine lacks mid RPM torque and power. Hoever above 2500 RPM engine peps well. Gear box is not very positive when compared with vento / etios. Gear shift feels as good as Manza. Its smaller engine will provide good milage in city.
Ride Quality & Handling
Ride quality is stable, negligible ROLL, suspensions are adequete for rough roads.
Final Words
Value for money ??? (Not really) It can not be compared with Xylo or Innova as they belong to different catagories of vehicles. Ertiga is LARGER HATCH BACK for 5 adults with occasional trip with 2 kids.
Areas of improvement
300 mm longer car would have made ertiga a WINNER of all time.

Exterior Great looks, head turner, all colors look good on the vehical shape.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Spacious interiors except for 3rd row (which anyway is used infrequently). Its luxurious 5 seater with emergency 7 seater. Some plastic rattling noise during driving. Could have been better but cost cutting at Maruti end. AC is very effective and chilling. On ZXI model they should have given Bluetooth too.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Petrol Engine is noiseless and very smooth. Fuel economy is just above 11 kmpl in city run (with AC on) and on highway about 14 kmpl. Though the meter reading always ahow between 13.2 to 13.6 kmpl which is misleading. Gearbox is smooth and looks like the gear ratio between gears could have been better as on the lower gears the rpm is high. Very good pickup and speed thrills.
Ride Quality & Handling Gives a feel of the car and not of the SUV, which is good. Some outside noise does disturb and also some plastic parts inside make noise on even regular roads. That might get sorted out with user feedbacks.
Final Words Very good family car and spacious enough and comfortable too.

Exterior looks cool.. after having seen test driven innova many times and xuv 500 and force 1... did not have the mind to go in for a taxi looking innova or badgeless zuv, Etriga my entire family and my inlaws liked it we had a test drive... (one of my family members said they should have taken a photo of the number of people traveled .. it could be a good advertisement
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Quiet comforatable for a large family.. every one could get in and out without difficulty
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine was cool and the gear box was the best.. I own a I10 earlier a IKON.. have driven maruti but this is the best gear box I guess..
Ride Quality & Handling Ride was smooth for a fully loaded vehicle in the city.. did not feel the turbo lag that I expected
Final Words Value for money.. definitely better than bulky innova and ztylo.. there will never be a taxi in Extriga.. so you can confidently buy this

From the first look, the interiors look good, but the back seat is quite flat which is sad, the option to move middle row back and forth is fantastic. The back row can adjust 2 people with less heights.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
I drove a Diesel one, it just does not want to take off in the beginning which is so irritating, what if its fully packed with 7 people and on a highway, i am concerned specially for overtaking on highways and the upward slopes on hills. On running, the turbojet engine gives a good push to it though.
Fuel economy is a plus if it gives what Maruti claims as 16 on petrol and 20 on Diesel.
Indian cars need to really learn from their foreign counterparts in Gear box system. I hate it really in most of the Indian cars, and this is no different.
Ride Quality & Handling
It looks quite open while sitting inside, the visibility is really good. The handling part is appreciable, you will not feel as if you are riding a 7 seater but instead, it gives the feel of a Sedan.
Final Words
Finally, i would say, the concept is a masterstroke looking at the present market demands, the Sedan is a passe now. It looks so crampy in a normal sedan. Overall, i would still think of buying this car, since there is no competion to this concept as yet.The reason is that it gives me an option to carry 2 extra people in case a need arises, Secondly i can plan for a long drive with family and believe it would be quite a comfort for them, as compared to a Sedan.

Exterior New trendy look, very similar to Ritz, a simple family utility car, can easily accomadate 7 adults as the 2nd rows can be slided, having adequate ground clearance which is greater than innova is an added advantage when the VAN is full.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Clocked a milege of 15kmpl, as my car is new n ran only 650kms, so cant tell you the exact figures. Good power for a race you have to travel in light loads, but it can take you almost as a swift can take you, I felt the gearbox is a bit stiff, mayb due to freshness.
Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is awesome u feel u r riding as SUV , handling is just like a car.
Final Words If dont want d brand name of toyota n innova, u can go for ertiga, you wont feel pity on your choice, its far better. Best car for a family of 7-8 :).
Areas of improvement Zxi is priced too high than vxi ( same wid disel ) with not much difference in features, enrty to 3rd row can be made a bit more spacy by making the 2nd row sliding n foldable as in innova. The arm rest coushion can be made softer the joint is stiff n it may cause then center seated person to ache his back in a long run.

Areas of improvement 1. 3rd can split to two, 2 Built in climate control 3. factory fitted reverse camera. Immediate after delivery of two days, I driven from bangalore to home town Goa, via karwar, sirsi wih family (we 2+2sons 16 &13 yr old). In local areas had trips with parents, In-laws and visited various temples & beaches. Some time 3 row loaded with 3 seats. Being petrol vehical no difference felt with dual AC & total 8 passengers absolutly no effect in pickup/fulling. Due to restiction of speed with great diffculty drow upto 65 speed with total km 1900 in my first trip. After 1st service, further became smooth.
Overall I felt my choice of Petrol version Ertiga ZXi is my right choice.

Exterior Though its an individual choice, I just love my Ertiga the way it looks in Granite Grey Color, witrh well balanced contours and profiles. I find too many curves and lines (as in Mobilio) to be Gaudy.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Very comfortable for normal sized people. Third row seat has best underthigh suppport as compared to others in the same category. I happened to see an ISUZU MU7 recently and atleat in 3rd row comfort, ERTIGA beats it 😊. Remove headrest of 3rd row and fold it to have a large luggage space with a wide.... leg space still left for 2nd row.
AC cooling with middle row blower is good. (As an experiment, I switched on the AC with Heater on for 15 minutes, the car was getting very hot inside but on putting your hand against the 3rd row blower I could still feel cooler air coming out! So its not just a blower sucking air from front and pushing back, Its something more!).
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The Gear shifting can be a little smoother but I do not have any complaints otherwise. Have driven with 7 adults and 2 kids in Delhi without any problem. Also toured 700 kms of Himachal hills (including narrow, winding, single lane hill roads) without any problem (can't drive continuously in 5th gear though in hills, as some people expect and I believe thasts an impractical expectation). FE is ok in city and is better if driving on long stretches.
Ride Quality & Handling Smoooth. Drives like a small Car. Suspension is quite smooth and cabin sound is very well controlled (Roll up all the windows and heave a sigh of relief!).
Final Words Totally values for money. Perfect for occasional 7 seat requirement. Feels more premium than its price (Zxi). Feels safe with ABS, EBD and Brake Assist. Ok for slight off roading (Negotiated well a 35 kms of hill climb on practically non-existing road from Nalagarh to Swarghat).

From outside, the car just looks like the extended version of swift/Ritz with almost same width, but increase in length and height. The styling even though does not have cuts and finishes, still it looks good and simple like innova. Simplicity is what everyone liked about ertiga and the reason to go over Mobilio which has weird exterior dimensions.

Space and comfort is the trump card of Ertiga which scores 4.5/5 in every aspect. As a 6'3" person in driving seat, a 5'8" person can easily sit behind me with the minium leg space with third row folded. This shows the flexibility of the car and how we can use according to the situations. It can be used as a 2,3,4,5 and 7 seater. 2 Average height persons can lie down and sleep with 2 rows folded with length equal to side upper berth in train. So while going for long drives, kids can sleep well. The seating position is awesome and under thigh support is the best.
Features are ok. Basic ones are covered well.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox 4/5
Engine performance is good except the turbo lag in diesel till 1750 rpm. Petrol engine is responsive. When the turbo kicks in, it can easily overtake any car in highway with the acceleration from 20-80 kmph.
Fuel Economy is good in both city and highway. I have done 600 kms in ZXi and got 11kmpl in city and 15.4 in highway. The economy will increase after 1st and 2nd service. Engine performance is better in petrol version than diesel even though the latter is designed mainly for highway driving. Petrol is peppy and easy to drive in city. In 35kmph, the vehicle can go in 4th gear with 5 persons on board which makes it perfect for city driving. Gear box is smooth.
Ride Quality & Handling 4.5/5
Best ride quality is experienced in Ertiga. Compared to innova, the Ertiga scores best in fuel economy, ride quality and handling. The car is well suited for both city and highway driving. Parking is also easier as it is 20cms lesser than innova. Cornering, overtaking and changing lanes seems to be easy.
Final Words
Value for money - Compared with other competitors, car is priced well with 1.5-2 lacs lesser. With the top model coming to less than 10L for petrol and 11.5L for diesel, the families who are looking for a sedan can think of this option.
Best MPVfor Indian family and roads - Flexibility and utility is important for a big family which this car provides you the best.
Younger brother of Toyota Innova😎 - Car stands with his elder brother just like a sibling with covering 85% of whatever Innova provides. With almost 5 lacs less, the middle class family can afford to buy Ertiga and be proud to take on innova in highways.
Areas of improvement If the facelift can come up with 1.6L engine and several added features, then Ertiga is going to be selling like swift.
Should provide airbags in all models as safety standards. A little change in styling will give Ertiga a new look, but should not overdo like Mobilio or boxy like lodgy.
