Driving around in the car for last 7 days...
Exterior Except the front look, I found the car looks beautiful from all sides and angles. The shape, size and proportions are great. Maybe MS should look at this and improvise. They can sit with some good designers and see what can be done. The quarter glass in front helps in improving vision on curves. They should have provided stylish door gaurd strips (body colour) to enchance the looks.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The dash board is good and sufficent for displaying all information. Upholstery is wow. Passenger comfort is also wow with proper adjustment of seats. Boot space is yes, less as one would have desired. As per the dimensions, space utilisation is fantastic. The middle row blower is great for cooling the last seat as well as the 2nd row, also since the control of blower is independent of front seat blower, it helps.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is very good , quite and efficient.Tried only city driving till now, but touches 80-90 easily and fast. In traffic and slow speeds, you need to downchange gears on braking, pikup is good so helps in moving quickly back to earlier speed. Gear shift is easy and good. Steering is very light. Fuel economy: metre says 11.0 KMPL in diesel but my calculation says it is higher than that.
Ride Quality & Handling Excellent on plain road. In potholes/uneven road the body roll is more, you need to get adjusted to that (Maybe due to new shockabs??). Speed breakers are handled very well. Less fatigue in driving.
Final Words A very good vehicle from Maruti and also well designed from Interior and Exterior point of view. First time I liked a car from MS & Bought it. If MS is thinking like this, I can expect more and better designed cars in near future.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine sucks at highways, not made for overtaking, tough ride while its fully loaded.
Ride Quality & Handling Fine rides like swift and lacks ABS.
Final Words Its an average but I would like to purchase mahindra xylo e8 which has almost its double of engine of 2500 cc and it have all those features such as 3 row a/c and rear wash and wipe, keyless entry and which are missing in ertiga vdi.
Areas of improvement There should be three row a/c engine should be improved and should also be improved seats leg room and knee room. Maruti is known for its fuel economy but for competetition in market there should be all those factors which should be kept i mind while purchasing a car but there is no such features exciting which are notin other cars but moreover it lacks such exciting features which should be there in car which costs more than 900000 rupees as it enters into luxury class and for such condition there should be foldable flight rays in ertiga and also voice command technology as compared to mahindra xylo ertiga is very less but being a fuel economy car it will manage its position in market.

I own an Ertiga VDI now, got last week, done around 500km all in Hyderabad city traffic. Over all good experience, not that great fun to drive in the city. This weekend planning for a high way trip :)
A query to the Ertiga Diesel owners,
1) Do you hear the fuel pump noise in your car? to test this take the car to a silent place switch off the Engine and first turn on the ignition, don't start, then listen any sound coming from the under hood of your car, some hissing sound. It will go off after few seconds. The sound comes back once you start the car. It is audible in my car if I lean and listen try to listen from the underhood of the car, below the middle row driver's side. The sound is not audible if you sit in the car evenif the windows are open.

Exterior Colour choices are not attractive. Further, no designs on exterior view, to have a sporty look. The looks are as normal as Maruti. I could not find a single customer in 20-30 age group. The vehicle is positioned as family car with medium builtup.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Looks good.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox I have seen meter showed as 11 kms as average fuel efficiency. Engine may be underpowered as Innova and Mahindra vehicles are almost have double CC. no comments on gear box.
Ride Quality & Handling Excellent as far as test drive is concerned.
Final Words May not be successful in northern India, but successful for extended families wtih conservative mindset and who compromise for comforts to fuel efficency.
Areas of improvement Luggage space is big concern, there should have provison for luggage tray on the top of the vehicle.
These views are on the basis of test drive and looks at Showroom, may change over a period of time.

Exterior Very Good, looks like Ritz. It could have been made further better like INNOVA.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Awesome. Excellent interior. Giving Arm Rest in 1st row could have made this vehicle more valuable and made driving easy. Arm Rest in 2nd row could have been made still better.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Very Good. Good pick up particularly after 2000 rpm. Fuel economy is uncomparable. I have driven around 12000 KM so far on all type sof roads, inluding highways. Mileage on highway without AC in between 20 - 21 KMPL. However in City with AC it is more than 15 KMPL.
Ride Quality & Handling Awesome. Like a Car.
Final Words Perfect MUV. Value for the money. for self driving, better than all the vehicles in this segment. Go for it without any second thought.
Areas of improvement Missing Arm Rest in 1st Row, Missing Defogger and rear wiper in VDi and VXi Model. Vehicle could have been made around 06 inches longer to increase the boot space with 3rd row sitting. Front look could have been improved, atleast like SX4 or on the pattern of INNOVA.

Exterior is fine but way too similar to the rits.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interiors fine as usual.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engines good doesn't junkfeel as said below 17.3liter on highway.
Ride Quality & Handling Handling is fine but the antilock braking systems doesn't work and the tyre skids at good speeds, the brakes need improvement as well. I don't know but if it's the same dzire brakes than its way too risky to drive the car above 100 Kms.
Final Words Maruti needs to do some thing about the suspensions, I have already driven 11657 Kms on the highway in 3 months. It won't last for more than a year. The last car I drove was the etios vd it was awesome. I have done 176000kms in it. Still working but in city now.
Areas of improvement Suspensions are bad at the rear. The Car is heavy for the existing suspensions. I ypthink the inoova suspensions are much better at least it doesn't jump.
