Compact car with power and grip on road.

 

Exterior Fine, but if you see the car from far and side, the design ends suddenly towards the rear side, gives an impression that the designer was in hurry to finish the car design and suddenly scrapped out the rear design and had cut it instantly. From front it looks cool. From behind it looks fine, but from sides it gives impression that a part of the vehicle is missing.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Not so bad but not so good also. Rear side seats have very less margin for people to sit. A person with 6 - 7 Feet height cannot sit on rear seat for sure. His knees would pain a lot. Vehicle is not for Tall guys. Driver seating is good. Dashboard and the Gear are all in very much accessible positions for driver. head room for the driver is nice but not for the others specially for tall persons sitting on rear seat. power window and locks work nice but the speed of raising the window glass is too slow. a "Steering Wheel Spinner/Knob" is must for the driver to drive this vehicle in the city as the elbow gets bangs quite often with driver side door panels while making U turns and sharp turns. "NO BLUETOOTH SUPOORT FOR MUSIC SYSTEM" secondly it is difficult to arrange the same. dealers ask for very good amount to do this which is not expected from Maruti. Boot space is less due to design issues like you can’t put a normal "CHECK-IN" size trolley in the Boot area. a cabin trolley would occupy the half of the area of the same. the hatchback door / backside dickey door does not give good sound while closing it. it gives very low class bang sound while closing it. just like olden days inferior class cars. Overall vehicle features needed to be given a bit more attention and internal space is a problem for this vehicle.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Nice Work on the Engine. Though the engine is not even of 1000 CC presicely but the perfomance is quite appreciable. I drove the vehicle for approx 2000 kms in two and half days with highest speed of 150 kms/hr on some points of the journey. Vehicle did not show any engine issues and found to be quite stable. It gave me an average of 17 - 19 kms/liter on Petrol (Speed of BP) throughout the journey with Air conditioner switched on. Gearbox works nice and no hassle in switching form one gear to another. However it would be appreciable if Maruti improvise the engine to make it of 1200 CC which would easily defeat the i20 of Hundai.

Ride Quality & Handling Nice but need more space at least for driver side where the right elbow bangs quite often with the doors during U turns and sharp turns. Tires are fine but may be a bit bigger (Not Broader) wheel size would have given better look as well as comfort and mantle assurance to the driver... Handling is very nice especially when the steering spinner knob is used. brakes are good and life saving. works comparatively quickly. still bit bigger brake disks would have given better feel or safety assurance for the driver and riders.

Final Words 5 seater vehicles should be for 5 people. I bet that 5 people from punjabi or andhra family cannot sit in this vehicle properly. the vehicle is good for small height people. it’s basically a 4 seater or the vehicle is for a couple with one or two kids (a small nuclear family).

Overall, nice compact car with provision for maximum Two Kids sitting on the rear seat and not for 3 adults sitting on the rear seat.

Areas of improvement Design, it looks like the design was cut in between and the vehicle was made smaller in order to give a compact look. This gives an impression that some part of the vehicle is missing towards its rear side.

Wheels, Small for this vehicle, a bit bigger (not broader) wheels with bigger brake disks would give more acceptance level by the prospective owners.

Space, mainly due to design, Door Panels are required to give some sophistication as these make very bad bang sound while closing; these put the owners on inferior side of the impression as well as indicate low class of the car.

Fuel efficiency (received 17 - 19 on highway for 2000 kms with AC on), Car design is ok.Not even 1000CC, backside seat does not have much space, difficult for 5 people to sit, real compact
