Jeep Compass [2017-2021] User Reviews

I bought a Jeep Compass Longitude optional a year back in Sep 2017 and was enjoying my rides like any other users, the overall performance of the vehicle is as good as expected, BUT when I went for the service my overall experience is turned down. I met with a minor accident and went for servicing the car at TURBO auto in Vijayawada, Andhrapradesh as I have only one choice in this city and they informed me that radiator and inter cooling system needs to be replaced along with the front bumper. It took 11 days for them to complete the work as I understood that the time would take for them in general is not more than 2 or 3 days. the reason as I understood is the spare parts was not being maintained by the service centres and I wonder the first thing that will get damage is the bumper and radiator when a car meets with the accident. Though I got the comprehensive insurance, when went to take the vehicle for delivery I was asked to pay 8600 Rs additional amount as they installed a bumper with chrome which they claim is not covered by the insurer (Bharathi Axa). which after enquiry with the service advisor understood that the part which the service centre guys ordered somehow changed ( I wonder how this could happen for a service oriented industry's these days) and when I denied to pay for what I have not asked neither chose the service centre guys denied to deliver the vehicle and asked for one more day to remove the chrome from the bumper to and deliver the vehicle and I have to leave the vehicle again at service centre to fix the right one. So after all these experiences I wonder why I chose a vehicle which is good to drive but very bad when you have to get it repaired.

If you are planning to buy some other car then forget it Go and buy jeep compass i have driven the car for 30000 Kms its base model only provides anything so if you don't have a budget of limited or limited plus don't worry its only cosmetic changes buy sport model it will fulfil all your needs. It has a great road presence

Buying experience of this car is outstanding because if you love driving and adventurous you will love this car if you want excellent road presence if you love your life - the build quality is outstanding if you want a stable vehicle which gets more stable with more speed. The riding experience of this car specially in a petrol engine is outstanding and rides well around the corners. Looks of this car are great with seven slat grille proportions at the front and the rear look is simple and elegant with large glass area and it's true SUV proportions and Jeep DNA make it look a bit bigger than it really is. Performance of this car specially in 1.4-litre Multiair petrol engine that delivers 163 bhp and 250 NM of torque and this engine surprisingly punchy and fun to drive and the fact you get an efficient and well-engineered petrol engine is good enough. Servicing and maintenance of this car are not good because the company needs to ramp up service networks to make the model more attainable and jeep service costs are usually higher than that of competition and annual maintenance cost is around 12,000 to 13,000 that is much expensive to maintain this car. There are some pros and cons to this car:- PROS:- 1.) It offers excellent ride quality with great stability around the corners with no complaint about body roll on the highways and open road performance is excellent without any much problem. 2.) It gets additional features like 16-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone climate control, Reverse Parking Sensors but does not include in sports variant. 3.) 6-speed manual transmission is slick, joy and easy to use with a light clutch pedal. 4.) The Independent suspension setup of the jeep increases off-road capability. 5.) The compass comes with essential features such as ESP, ESC, Traction Control, Electronic Parking Brake, Hill Start Assist, Hill Hold Control, Roll Over Mitigation, all four wheels get disc brakes, ABS and Airbags (2 as standard and 6 on top of the variant) 6.) It gets Terrain all-wheel-drive system - auto, snow, sand and mud - the system adjusts the engine mapping and traction control to move easily over the selected terrain. 7.) Plastic quality in the cabin is outstanding among the rivals and all-black interiors in the cabin make more appealing and feel very premium. 8.) 5-inch touchscreen infotainment system is easy to use. 9.) It has excellent grips around the corners, the steering response is outstanding on the highways and highway stability is also outstanding and the compass feels rock-solid in a straight line even at high speeds manner, excellent commanding design. 10.) Jeep is known for its brand value. CONS:- 1.) Rear Seat comfort is a bit cramped for three adults. 2.) It lacks some features like sunroof, cruise control, keyless entry and even leather seats. 3.) Too much pricey 4.) It has highest turning radius 5.7mm than of its rivals and not good for the city. 5.) The brakes are good, but while slowing down from high speeds it seems to lack the necessary bite for sharp and effective braking.

Indeed a powerful SUV in a budget below 20L it gives a remarkable experience. Compare to all SUV available below 25 lacs it is one of the worth to buy SUV. Even on long drive upto 800KMs I drove and excellent comfort,Road Grip and perfect on National highways and state road as well. Perfect for both Urban and Rural India with its engine power and road grip

Exterior Best looking mid range SUV, good street presence. Front grille is a treat to the eyes. Squarish wheel wells add meat to the body. Built for off-roading terrains. The roof slides down to the rear giving a very Evoque feeling.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Seats are the most comfortable in the segment. 5 seater hence people looking for 7/8 seater will most probably won't like it. Interior plastic quality is top notch. Is not be feature loaded like Hyundai's or Maruti's.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy, and Gearbox One of the best BHP figures. Economy decent although not as good as wafer-thin Japanese cars. It's either handling/build quality or economy... never both. Gearbox is smooth but sometimes gives a very stuck feeling still no issues faced. Diesel engine is same as Fiat which has been declared national engine of India.

Ride Quality & Handling It's a Jeep/Fiat then I don't need to comment on handling. Best suspension in class.

Final Words Best and solid built mid range SUV. Winner after Linea from Jeep/Fiat.

Areas of improvement Fiat/Jeep dealer network and after sales service.

Tank like build quality, performance, pricing...Maybe not feature rich but who cares about tons of useless features...

It's ultimate... never felt such a driving experience ever before. Superb... no sound... only power pickup and comfort.handle grip, suspension,sound, lights everything ultimate. Look wise it looks like army tank with heavy motion. But again so smooth. No hustle and bustle inside. I drove it on worst road of Jaipur highway in Jodhpur city. Everyone simply started to watch it.

It is some costly but fair and smoth body easy space good design good mileage this is extremely charming and useful for rural areas also this is first car which give us completely different satisfaction due to a little quality explanation space I will end my thoughts compass is our time whenever we tiered hapless saddy we will go a long drive.

Just 1 month after purchase, engine malfunction light started glowing. Took vehicle to local dealership and light went off. Soon it glowed again and engine started excessive vibrations and jerks. Took again there and they kept it there for about 10 days and said some parts are replaced. After driving of around 100kms engine started emitting some burning smell. When I lifted bonnet and engine cover I am finding oil leakage from somewhere. I'm frustrated now as what to do as no satisfactory response from dealership or company. I would recommend no body should ever commit such a mistake of buying such a defective vehicle.

I got a chance to Drive this Car. I got the Trailhawk DSG 2 ltr engine This engine Gives a lot of Power It's Really Awesome I don't have any words to Say About This Engine It's Really Awesome. Up to 2000 rpm There is a Lag but it's Pull so quickly and The Performance of this car absolutely Phenomenal. The 9speed DSG gearbox gives More performance And The hydraulic steering Gives a Lot of Confidence At high speed and The Main advantage of This car has No Body roll we Get Comfortable Riding In this car. And The Rear Passenger Gets Arm Rest and AC vents. If you Looking For an SUV go and Buy this.
