      Exterior As I said before it has been styled by bmw designer.the car resembles mercs slk series from a distance.beautiful ovrm automatic mirrors and indicators,rear windows are awesome to look at.great lookin 14inch alloys.the car looks best in white.i got my car heavily tilted.

       

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Chunky steering wheel,blue interiors are a feast for our eyes,steering mounting controls,automatic climate control,immobiliser(updating codes)i.e, immobiliser code changes whenever key is removed from the ignition, security alarm,mine has got 2 airbags,seat belt pretensioner,very spacious when compared to polo or fabia and hyundai seats are comfortable with lot of cushion.

       

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox My i20 comes with a 1.2l kappa engine,which pumps out 80 bhp. i am an  adrenaline junky and i have touched 180kmph with this beast.crdi's pick up is good but its top speed is  176kmph auto 1.4 will do 168kmph.u'll doubt how a 1.2 l will do 180 this is because it has been set at 5200 rpm and the S.I(spark-igniton)engines are much lighter compared to diesel engines.because of aggressive driving style i get 11 in city traffic and on highways 13 but good driving style will give u 13 in city and 15-16 in highways.gear box is butter smooth only problem while downshifting to 2nd gear here pickup is slow.gear box mechanism is a lot better compared to fiesta and jazz.

       

      Ride Quality & Handling The petrol engine is alot smoother and cabin has been insulated.i20 comes with EBD(electronic brake force distribution)i.e, individual braking system and ABS(anti lock braking system).i can assure u hyundai's abs definitely works as there was no skidding while braking at top speeds of 150kmph.handling is easy there are understeers but no steering vibration or stiffness observed at the peak speed.turning radius is good,easy to park.

       

      Final Words It is uber cool.u'r gettin and an endless list of features for 7 lakhs i.e, half the price of civic.these kind of features can be seen only in civic and other higher d segment cars.i'll definitely recommend it for both city and highways. more highway drives go for crdi coz no downshifting problem and great pickup.people with higher budget go for sun roof option.get parking sensors if u live in apartments .u'll love sitting in the car for hours and hours without gettin bored. definitely a tranquility is there in my life after gettin it.go for this beauty u'll love it

       

      Areas of improvement Since hyundai is concentrating on younger buyers for i20 i would suggest them to get a 1.6l engine with TSI injection pumping 120bhp for this beast.coz with all these features u need a powerful engine for i20 to make hyundai  the epitome of luxury. get LED side step garnish.and brabus kind of sports variant into indian market.

      Exterior is Good and attractive.

       

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Features are good .Space provided can be better if rear leg room gets extended.Cabin space could be superb if the dimensions can be increased by one foot length wise.The car finish both interiors and exteriors are eye catching and attractive. 

       

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine performance and gear box are exemplary.However if the fuel economy can be improvided to say 18 km a litre the vehicle will be the best in its class.

       

      Ride Quality & Handling Very Good and easily to handle.Turning radius is great.Silent diesel gives you a feel of petrol engine.

       

      Final Words Good buy and worth the investment.The car looks and feels different from other cars and the diesel engine is very powerful.

       

      Areas of improvement Interior space can be improved and road side view from driving seat is restrictedin the case of Era and Magna as the hydraulic height adjustment is not available in these models.If this facility is made available in these models it will be a big facility for the users.

      Exterior Good Looks.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Best in its class.

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Poor engine strength. Has trouble moving out in 2nd gear (not talking about moving the car from stand still position) Fuel Economy is fair enough. Gearbox is ok.

      Ride Quality & Handling Not Bad, can be better.

      Final Words Wish I had bought some other car.

      This is my first post in Carwale (though I have been a long time visitor) and I wish this could have been a much more cheerful post than it is.

      I bought my i20 Asta 1.2 from Modi Hyundai, Thane on 24th July and though I already knew about the A/C and power output issues of the car, I was overall happy with the build quality, space and look of the car.

      Problems started when the car was about 600 odd kms old. I suddenly found my car (in heavy mumbai traffic) overheated and knocking about. Shocked, I somehow managed to park the car and called up the dealer for help. He gave me Hyundai's road side assistance toll-free no. which I dutifully called and found that this was a call center in gurgaon and was assisted by a executive who didnt know Mumbai from Bombay. Anyways, he promised me a tow truck within an hour. well, no tow truck ever reached me.

      I somehow managed to get the help of a local mechanic who showed me that the coolant had evaporated and the fan was not working. We filled in water in the coolant compartment and I in a stop and go fashion, somehow reached a Hyundai dealer who dutifully took the car in for a "thorough check"

      Later in the day, I was told that they are replacing the radiator since it had a lot of clogging! Wonder how. anyways, happy that the problem was minor, I took possession of my car and carried on my merry ways.

      Another 5-600 kms later... la viola! car overheating again! This time I took it back to my dealer's workshop who did a "thorough check-up of the electricals" and found nothing wrong. Next day, again the same overheating issue. Took it back and they worked on the earthing. thank you Sir! no luck yet. next day, again in traffic, again a problem of overheating. Stale news. so what else is new I thought.

      Tomorrow, I am again taking it back to the dealer... hope they will do something "thoroughly" this time.

      The car works well in normal free flowing traffic. Once you get into stop-go traffic or stop the car, the car heats up. After the first time, now the coolant is not leaking or evaporated out. is filled to the brim.

      Can any Petrol head here tell me whats likely to be wrong?

      Is there a way I can get the car replaced? The car has run approx 1800 kms so far.

      Will certainly appreciate your inputs.

      Exterior I have driven it 1800 KM. Exterior really looks awsome and surely a head turner. You feel like spcial when you are driving in the traffic.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Its really comfertable with very good two tone interiors. Intially I thought of changing seat fabric but the OEM seat is really good and suits very well for interiors. Bucket styled seat will give you maximum comfert and leg space. Clutch foot rest is a very good feature. Audio is pretty decent and performs really well even in high volume. AUX and USB is good too. Seat hight adjuster which is not avaiolable in magna 1.2 version is a turn of. I have I10 and Alto VXI other than this newly added I20. I feel superior while driving this car. The width of this cat is greater than honda city and most entry level sedans. boot space is good too. Legspace in both front and back are good too.

      Not available 60:40 foldable seat feature and electric OVRM feature is another turn off in magna 1.2 vertion. Automatic climate controle is very good and performs well.

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Magna 1.2 petrole vertion is having very low acceleration. I mean to say. when you are driving your car at 80-90 KMh at 5th gear, and when you want to over take another vehicle, the power is not readyly avilable. You have to gear down to 4th and over take. Every one drives 1.4 version vehicle for test drive as the showroom guys will come with the top end version only. I also drove 1.4 ASTA version and got fooled by pic up and acceleration.

      I suggest every one to test drive the version wheich they are intented to buy. Even after first service, I am getting only 9kml in city and 14kml in high way (Bangalore mysore high way). So milage is very bad. I drove this car at 160KMH in Nice road Bangalore. What i observed is speed slowly builds up and is not readyly available as in swift or ritz but car is very study even at 160KMH but ritz and swift (test drive vehicles) shook like they were in fever at 145KMH in nice road.

      Ride Quality & Handling Suspention, gear transmission and steering is really really butter smooth and you can enjoy the ride real good. Engine is not noisy and performs good.

      Final Words Really good family car for those who are not worried about power and milage.

      Areas of improvement Definatle power and milage. Same 1.2 versions of swift and ritz give much more power and acceleraion.

      Exterior Fantastic no doubt.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Excellent, under thigh support for back seat, knee room fair.

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox 80bhp is good, no lag due to AC full on-off, good pick-up, no underpower feeling. High speed stability is not excillent but 7 in scale of 1-10.wobulling in uneven roads inside cabin. i20 pertol is fuel thirsty, if rev hard will give mere ~10km/lt mileage.If you will surely drive the best way of gear to accelerator ration will get max 12km/lt irrespective of ARIA claim.

      Ride Quality & Handling Inside feels posh and a kind of self confidence on quality you got.Handling ratin can be : BMW> Polo> Jazz> Swift> i20> Ritz> i10..😄

      Final Words Great outlook, interior excellent.Handling acceptabel but not best in class. The main concern in Petrol is FE with easy riding is max can get 12km/l, with my kind of driving on aggerisive it gives <10km/lt. bad thing felt- kid can't see outside window sitting at back. Not a good design😱

      Areas of improvement Back seat outside visibility can become a Big point is matters as for me a lot.Am 5.7" window bottom edge starts from my 1/2 of neck.even I need to stretech to see outside.this is far away from Brio, Jazz, Polo. Pertol drinker from birth..chossing diesel is good option here.

      Exterior Initially I had planned to buy swift diesel, but then looking from a family perspective I always favored i20 and now that i have got. I beleive in terms of exterior this car is gorgeous to look. My neighbour has a swift and he is jealous of me and that makes me feel good as i am not.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) At such a price and in such category, i culdn't have expected for more. They have taken care of everything. Be it seats, music system, space. Everything is sheer quality. I should say Hyundai scores a perfect 10 on this one. Although, suspension could have been a touch better but I still would rate this better than swift.

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Performance - When you rust this engine to 110 at 4th gear. Then you still have 2 more gears to go, I culdn't try beyond this as where do i find a road . Although Chandigarh da trip ta laana hi hai. Test would get completed. Overall, performance is the best of the lot in this car.

      Fuel economy - I am not sure what swift owners are getting. But i20 is currently delivering me 18-19 in mix city and highway driving. Pls note this is without AC as its winter time now and i usually drive during evenings and mornings. I beleive the fuel economy can go up to 22-23 on a pure highway drive. Also, just to tell you guys, this fuel average would only come when you drive below 2000 RPM's as dis car drinks a lot of diesel when revved about that, so ensure you drive in a correct gear.

      Gearbox - Quite smooth, I din't feel any problem. Although shifting from 5th to 6th is tricky as i sometime hit 4th in the process.

      Ride Quality & Handling Suspension - Its good. I still would have liked if Hyundai would have gone a mile ahead in improving this.

      Handling - Steering is a little lite so one may have to grab it at higher speeds as you may feel that car is drifting through lanes. But this steering works like butter in city driving and that's a pleasure while driving in city conditions.

      Final Words Well guys, if you buy swift for fuel economy i would say pls dnt think that. I20 is equivalent if not better in this case.

      If you buy it because of Maruti, well experience something new. Life comes only once - How long would you continue to drive that common looking car which isn't that a good value for you.

      Final say - Pls buy sportz model as it gives you ABS. I seriously miss it at high speed, although braking without it is still excellent but we never know when we may need it.

      Areas of improvement Car is simply perfect. If they can improve the service interval to 15k or 20k then it would be great. 10k is too less for a car of this size.

      Exterior When I first looked at the Car, I just fell in love with it. The exteriors are aesthetically designed. The curves, the shape, the size, it all looks perfect!

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The interiors likewise gives you a very rich feeling and you it certainly gives you a feel of a luxury sedan when you just get in. The chrome finish at just the right places is very appealing to the eyes! You would never get bored of getting into this car. This car has much more space then all other hatchbacks in the market. Excellent legroom and eaasily fits 5 people without any discomfort. The interior Blue LED lightining is brilliant. I don't see any other car having such an amazing feel when those LED lights are on. Even the power windows button are lighted! Such is the details with which this car has been designed. Seats are extremely comfortable! You would love to go for a long drive with your girfriend/ wife in this baby! :)

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine performance is decent not necessarily the best. This car would be a maniac if it has a 1400 CC engine. This would be just an replacement of any sedan in the market then! The music system is amazing as well. The sound quality with effects from its tweeters are just fantastic. I have heard and seen the music system in other cars, this according to me is best of the lot. Love the blutooth feature, as I can easily connect my OneX to it and play songs with Beats audio chip on my phone for those extra effects! 

      A real negative of this car is clearly the mileage! I have traveled often to office in the peak hours from Malad to BKC where you always drive bumber to bumper, and the mileage is absmally low at 7 to 8 KMPL. I have also driven this beauty at the National Highway with consistent speeds of 80 to 90 and the mileage was approximately 15KMPL. In both the instances the AC was pretty much 100% on. May be 95%.

      Ride Quality & Handling I hit a speed of 150 KMPH on this with relative ease and the car showed amazing stability. However, note that the steering is very senstive at high speeds! So drie with both your hands on the steering at those speeds! :) For the city the steering is so light that you can iterally turn with just one finger and then just leave the sterring and it quickly comes back to straight position! I have had friends sit in this car, and they have invariably asked after getting into the car sayng "Dude, this looks like a fancy car, which one is it" :)

      Final Words A very very satisfied customer for the stuff it offers to me! No regrets whatsoever in buying this! A proud owner of this beauty! (Muah!<3) White color looks great! Couple of others are really good too!

      Areas of improvement Mileage and engine power should improve. But it compensates more in the form of other stuff that has been written than the negatives.       i20 Asta is my first car. I have drove more than 15000 KMs in less than a year. Everything about this car is excellent.

       

      Exterior The car has fantastic looks and great in style. It just looks great and love it.

       

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The comfort for all 5 seats is excellent. Mainly the leg space for back seat is excellent and the boot space is fantastic for a car with this size.

       

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is great I have reached till 180KMPH on Pune-Mumbai Expressway. There was no noise and vibrations and It seems can go further. The ABS give fantastic control on car. The handling is excellent at high speed. Normal speed on highway is 120-140 without any issues. I guess Hyundai can improve on Fuel Economy. I have drove always with AC on and I get around 13KMPL. It might be my driving style also as I accelerate and brake very fast. The Grearbox is so smooth that even a new driver like me faced no issues.

       

      Ride Quality & Handling Excellent smooth drive and fantastic feel even at high speed. The ABS helps a lot and the steering is just great.

       

      Final Words Just go for it and enjoy it throughly.

      Exterior hyundai i 20's design is best in d market. it is full 4 mtr long thats why it has full space for 5 passangers

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) its interior is best in class available in india. it has so many  features that u cant wish other features 2 have. it is much spacious for 5 passangers.

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox engine is strongest in indian market in hatch backs. performance is so good that anyone can fall in love with this in first drive like me. its pick up is best. i bought my asta on march 1st and have completed 3000 kms. i hv touch 173 km as my top speed but i think it can touch 180 giving a long straight. i m little bit disappointed with 2 things first i miss 6 speed gearbox and second is fuel economy. i m getting only 16-17 kmpl. once i tried to get its best economy. i drove it at 80- 90 kmph and use ac only 30%. at that time i fill its tank with 10 liters and travell 176 kms(fe-17.6kmpl).

      Ride Quality & Handling its ride is so much comfortable. good balance between ride and handling.

      Final Words a very good family car it is. friends plz suggest me is there any difference  between the fuel economy of 5 speed and 6 speed. i m not getting so good fe with 5 speed. is there any problem in my car or this is geniune difference between 5 speed and 6 speed

      Areas of improvement drive below 2000 rpm , low ground clearance, fuel economy.

      I bought i20 (MH01 BG1623) in February 2013 from Sharayu Hyundai Mumbai; within a year its engine broke down i.e on February 01, 2014 (Melting of ‘SKURT’ part in engine, due to rising temperature) near Pune and the car is still in the service center (Garve Hyundai Service Center, Vadgaon, Pune – Avinash, Service Manager) for warranty claim. This is literary a kind of harassment while dealing with Hyundai.

      Today its 45th day and counting; I still have no idea when my car will be ready. I have called several times in last 40 days to customer care and service manager; but I feel there is no intent to provide satisfactory services to the customers.

      My car broke down at Vadagaon near to Pune; I had no choice other than taking it to the service center. After all the discussion I handed over the car to Pune Service Center. They filed warranty claim within 5 days with Hyundai head office; and were waiting for all the approvals (as told to me by Mr. Avinash three consecutive approvals are required i.e. Pune, Mumbai and finally Delhi) to come before ordering the parts. Subsequently I confirmed with the Hyundai customer helpline (Sharafat – Mumbai); who told me that there is no requirement to obtain all the three approvals and parts can be ordered even after first approval is in place. This was to my surprise that two Hyundai people/associates telling me different things; I requested Sharafat to speak to Avinash and guide him about the process and order my parts. Finally, parts were ordered on February 07, 2014.

      Till date, parts have not come to the service center as told to me parts have to come from Delhi head office to Pune; which I believe is a real repulsive policy. Whatever would be the case 5 weeks are more than enough to order/deliver/manufacture any item from one place to another in this World, provided there must be intent to provide such kind of service. I believe even Hyundai won’t be taking more than 5 weeks to manufacture a new i20.  

      I spoke to, Service Manager in Pune and Sharafat - Customer Care, both told me that some parts are not in stock and have been ordered to suppliers from head office that why it’s taking time. Being one of the major automobile player in this country, if you don’t have parts in stock or can’t order/deliver parts within 5 weeks; then providing services to customers is ofcourse a big question mark, and customers satisfaction will be unimaginable.

      Also, I enquired in the market; that automobile industry provides back-up vehicle in case of warranty claims or engine break down. I checked for the same at Pune Service Center; they told they don’t have any back-up vehicle so they can’t provide. Then I called up Sharaft (Customer Helpline) and requested him to arrange for a Back-up vehicle till my car is in service and he told me that the onus to provide back-up vehicle is with Pune Service center; since my car is with them. It was certainly a shock that Hyundai quoting that the “Onus of providing the back-up vehicle is of Service Center where car breaks down and not of Hyundai”.

      I really want to question this irrational policy; consider me driving my car from Mumbai to Chennai for a day work and my car breaks down in Chennai, and I give the car for repair to XYZ service center and come back to Mumbai after completing my work. Now I request XYZ to arrange a back-up car for me since my car broke down; will this be sensible that I first go to Chennai again from Mumbai to pick up that back-up car and drive back to Mumbai and use it for a month (with Chennai number plate and registration), and then again drive it back to Chennai from Mumbai to hand it over and collect my repaired car. I believe it’s surely a way of saying NO to customers.

      In such a case, Hyundai can every time keep their hands up and say – that onus is on the Service center or dealer or some other party. However, I have purchased the Hyundai Car and not a dealer car; I have every right to ask Hyundai for my discomfort and harassment, it has caused me in this process.

      I understand that it takes time to repair a car, but my question is more on the lapses in their system of arranging/ordering/manufacturing. When we talk of Hyundai, we expect that after sale services has to be prompt to their esteemed named in the market however my experience with Hyundai was not at all good to cherish and I would make sure that I and my near ones never buy a Hyundai product in future.

      I have complained the above harassment to Hyundai on March 12, 2014, and to my surprise there has been no response from the Company.
