This car is very good in every track . its fuel economy is very nice and good for my budget so this is also suitable for me and other middle class family . This new car is an epitome of modern premium compact styling and fuel efficiency. lt was much waited car and made a grand entry with the petrol version into the Indian car market. The diesel version will definitely be success.Just like i10, the i20 too will make a good fortune for Hyundai.

There is no doubt that i-20 is a good car. But the lukewarm attitude towards it is due to the fact that, i-20 is a huge car but powered by an smaller engine. It should have atleast a 1400cc under its hood.
Instead of a gasoline car, should Hyundai have launched diesel car, market response could have been better.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Except for Turbo Lag, this car has stonking performance, good fuel economytoo. Engine is pretty refined too.

 

Ride Quality & Handling Light steering spoils the party,but it makes it easy tp park in small dimension parking lot. Ride quality is good too.

 

Final Words Very good VFM Package. A car worth looking into. When the turbo is on song, the car's  performance is phenomenal. When the turbo is not kicked in, there is nothing below 17000 or 18000 rpm. When it does, 120km/h comes in like no time. Absolute beauty! Light steering is a boon  for city but is not on for some high speed stuffs. Chocolate brown interors also looks cheap. Hyundai could gone for something better. Fuel economy is good too. Features are very good too. The car will certainly holds it's own against Maruti Ritz, VW Polo. Both these cars are very good too. Actually VW Polo is my favourite here. Polo actually looks the best here and looks decent and extremely stylish as well  whereas i20 has more of flashy style comparatively. Ritz is a tall boy here. Style here is your personal preference I, personally believe that this car will not age for a long time to come.

 

Areas of improvement Chocolate Brown Interiors should be done with something better. Also Top of the line version should get leather seats for the premium price Hyundai is asking for.

Exterior Bold, stylish, changed the factory fitted tyres and iron rims. upgraded to R15 alloys with Michelin 195/60 shoes.

 

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Feels like a sedan. one can expect premium matertop-quality materials used for this Premium hatchback. leg space is what one can vouch for.

 

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Gearbox is smoother after first servicing. 1st to 2nd is a bit stiff othewise good. FE is excellent on highways. it gave me almost 19kmpl on banagalore salem highway. Inside the city with 24-25 degree AC / low fan, the car gives an average of 12-13kmpl. not bad!

 

Ride Quality & Handling Well after changing the tires and rims it has become more stable. steering is butter smooth with the OEM tyres. with the wider tires it has become stiffer marginally. I don't mind that.

 

Final Words The car listens to you.

 

Areas of improvement Heavy steel has been used for the extra safety. So Hyundai should use at least 1.3L engine keeping in mind the weight of the car.

Exterior Good and impressive. It attractes attention on road lights are attractive. Exterior is tempting. the moment you see the car you want to take a drive.

 

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Very good, comfortable. Music system and its performance is impressive. the colors and upholstry is better and soothing. the interior of the car is a stress buster. boot space is also very good and large in comparision with other cars in this segment.

 

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox All are very good. The car is fully loaded with all required features in this segment. Mileage is better than any other car of this class. gear shifting is very smooth.

 

Ride Quality & Handling Riding quality is very good. driving this car is a pleasure and not tiring. Handling is very smooth and comfortable.

 

Final Words have that much money for this segment...? Go for it...!

 

Areas of improvement Rear end should be higher, Company should think over the colors. I feel they should come up with some attractive colors. company should review its pricing which is on a higher side. this factor is making people think over some other cars also.

Exterior Good, eye-catching exteior as compared to other cars of this category.

 

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Very comfortable for 5 persons, good bootspace, but headlights are not so strong.  Comfortable for long drives.  Less ground clearance.  Plastic quality good and excellent music system.   Not Loaded with all features, like blue and me in Fiat Punto.  Rear window should be more lengthy. Seats are comfotable.

 

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox power satisafactory, fuel economy somewhat less(12 with AC on), needs more power in 2nd gear when AC on, AC cooling satisfactory.  

 

Ride Quality & Handling Sitting for long journeys not very uncomfortable, good and  comfortable for passengers. Handling a bit tedious because of width of the car.  Turning radius less as compared to other cars in this category.

 

Final Words Good purchase but price could have been little less.  At this price 2 airbags could have been included.

Exterior As this is my first car, we (with my wife) researched a number of cars before finalizing one. We had tested Figo/Beat/Puno/Aveo earlier. But when we saw a dark gray i20 in showroom, we were simply astonished by its bold and solid look. That was its second generation model which is much more appealing than its previous one. It is really a big car. To us road presence of Barry Red color is much more attractive than the Dark Gray one even the latter one is more gorgeous in well furnished and arranged showroom. Its double tone metallic finish color, front grill chrome finish, head light really rocks. Overall this car simply makes its distinguished presence on the road. We finally selected the Barry Red color. The mirror mounted turn indicator adds the quality of the car in a great way.

 

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) You enter the cabin and it gives a real feel of richness and completeness. The blue LED is ultimate. The instrument cluster, the look of the gauges makes the cabin as a well decorated small drawing room. Back seats are very comfortable for fairly long journey. Front seat and driver seat is really well placed and ergonomically shaped. As I am an average height guy, a height adjustable driver seat would have been very helpful. Inside chrome finish especially on the gear top is very pleasant. Its dash board seems bigger than the usual cars. So a lot of spaces are wasted on the top of the dash board. The Leg room is more than enough, the footrest gives the nice comfort while driving. Its large boot is really helpful as we travel to our native place very frequently. Its audio system is a real pleasure and fun. Additional USB port adds more to it. AC works fine but never tested strongly as this is winter season now. Overall it gives you a very compact, classy and comfortable feeling when you are inside this beauty.

 

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox I stay in Haldia, West Bengal. This is not a typical city drive or highway drive. One can assume it as a hybrid of 50%-50% drive overall. The engine starts very quietly. It runs like silky smooth. Noise is almost absent. Reach around 60-70 km/h speed, the engine works absolutely noise free. Pick up is slightly lower than Swift or Beat, no doubt about it. You cant start like zooom... But it gives a rock solid road grip and smooth gliding feelings. Gear box is butter smooth from the moment of delivery except the 1st gear. Hope it will too become smoother after couple of services. Its gear changing indication is very helpful. I haven't crossed more than 80 kmph till now and play only in Haldia, I am getting about 11.5-12.0 km/l on AC off mostly with two passengers. Hyundai Kharagpur says it will increase after 2nd service for sure. I have done about 500 kms and waiting for my 1st servicing.

 

Ride Quality & Handling Ride in my i20 is absolutely a pleasure. Back seat easily accommodates three adult of normal size. one can make a fairly long tour easily, no need to take a SUV. It gives a comfort like sedan. Power steering is very sensitive and listens to you. Moving the car in a long jam of hundreds of trucks in Haldia road has become a play for me not a matter of worry. Its low carve radius is really helpful in crowded city driving. Its two mirrors size is bigger than the usual, so be careful when driving in crowed.

 

Final Words It is a great family car with all its essential and luxury requirements to you. The car definitely catches the eyes of others. You must be proud of having this big beauty. Definitely you may get bit low mileage as this is a heavy car but the difference is not that much to worry you. My final word is "GO, GRAB IT".

If you have planned to buy the car from Keshav Hyundai, Kharagpur, be serious and cautious while dealing. These people are having less experience in business. They are nice people, helpful but they are not that professional in their work. They are cordial but can make number of mistakes during dealing.

 

Areas of improvement Engine may be more powerful for a big car like i20. Driver seat height adjustment certainly adds more usefulness to it. I think price is bit higher than what it should be.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Excellent except for driver seat height adjustment, short (not tall) drivers wil have problem with front visibilty due to raised dashboard design of the car.

Performance is excellent, i worried about its performance as i had not test driven the vehicle before purchase due to non availability of test car in the showroom.

Was very happy with the performance on my trip to Ooty, it terrained the hills comfortably and had great power and control - family  also enjoyed the ride with it cofmort features (ac, music system, front and rear defoger - was very usefull on the cold ooty journey ) overall the best car i have owned.

 

Fuel Economy I am expecting a litle more (16 on highway) which i need to check on my trip to normal highways apart from hilly terrain. Finally the best car in the segment and i am proud to own this car.

 

Areas of improvement Showroom sales and service was not satisfactory

1) No test drive car available during booking.

2) employees not very trained to explain about the features.

3) not very clear on the price and its offers.

4) after sales (1st service) was not given good importance as I was expecting somebody to explain about the benifits and dos and donts after the first service.

5) company should work hard to promote the car atleast by giving after sales service and customer satisfaction to the owners of the car as they are the good promotors.
