It all began with a teaser sort of an experience of a star-studded 70mm product for us when we went for the fun and frolic filled media drive, with a good friend, fellow journos, a good-lookling lady and a former racing driver to make for an electrifying company, and returned back only to get drunk, exchange pleasantries and sign off. It all went well. But I was feeling restless.
Almost all of us have experienced this once atleast, maybe even more. What I am talking about is the feeling of eagerness that you experience after watching the trailer of a really talked-about motion-picture. You always look forward to the release of the movie to actually see what the buzz is all about. It has been a similar state of affairs for the latest compact car to crowd the small-car segment even more. Hell, I suck at talking ‘Bollywood ishtyle’, don’t I?
I was getting impatient to drive the damn thing again. Yes, I know, getting impatient to drive a small-car sounds rather absurd, it ain’t no Ferrari afterall! But somehow, (and I know quite a many people, motoring journos included, will disagree with me) it was a sense of occasion when I saw a Hyundai i10 clothed in a sparkling ‘champagne’ colour come to a parking halt in front of my doorstep. Why such a feeling? It’s hard to explain. You see, I was about to drive, for quite a few kays and test it in the bargain, a car that might just go on to write many pages in the book of Indian automotive history. So then you tell me, why should I not have felt the way I did?
