Exterior The car is good to look at, though nearly all cars in this segment (UV-A, i20, Polo, Punto) look similar. The colour quality is very good.

 

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The music system is very good. However, there is inadequate storage space as a family car. The front doors have very small spaces and the rear doors have none. There are no cupholders. There are no smart spaces created for small items, the way it was in my 2002 Wagon R. Space in both front and rear seats is adequate. The AC is quite effective.

 

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The engine performance is good enough for a family car, though it appears slightly underpowered as compared to my old car. It just takes getting used to. Fuel economy is 13 km/l in city with AC and 16 on highways with AC so far, after one servicing. Gearbox is precise.

 

Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is definitely better than my old car. This one appears sturdier as well. Handling is very light and precise. It appears low but so far I have only scraped the bottom once in 3000 km of driving (I generally have my wife and two little daughters on board). With five passengers it will definitely touch more often.

 

Final Words Probably the cheapest in the segment, it is a value for money car.

 

Areas of improvement Storage spaces for small knick-knacks in the cabin for a family car, cup holders.

Exterior Well, The figo is not an immediate eye catcher. The side profile is fantastic to look at. The front is not attractive at first, but the design grows on you and then you like it.The rear is good.High mounted lamps offer god view for cars coming at the back.  the front and the rear bumpers are nicely designed. the protruding wheel arches give the car a muscular look. roofline looks aerodynamic. overall the exterior of this car is above average.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) This is figo's trump. The car offers amazing amount of space to all its occupants and for the luggage too. The factory fitted music system sounds fantastic with auxillary port. The plastic quality used in the dash is average, it can be improved by ford. The doors are solid and open wide , so that its easy even for XXL SIZE ppl. The seats are really comfortable for long journeys. Placement of the bonnet opening lever on the left side is not a good idea. The A PILLAR restricts vision severely when we are turning right. overall interior is good thogh not best in clas like VW POLO or HONDA JAZZ. FORD could have done better sound isolation.cabin noise is relatively more when compared to other cars in its class. AC with its 148 cc compresor is clas leading and makes the cabin cold after 15 min, but definitely the best in class.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The 1.2 alpha series motor churns out 71bhp which is not great. This engine feels more like a diesel engine with a turbocharger. The bottom end grunt is bad and the car really picks up in all gears only after it croses 1500 rpm. sudden overtakes when going at low speeds  are not possible because of this . The gear box is fantastic. The engine seems to be really noisy when revved and produces alot of heat.  fuel economy is bad when compared to other hatches. just 10- 11 kmpl inside chennai city with 50% of ac on. The pick drops heavily when ac is on, owing to 148 cc compressor.

Ride Quality & Handling EXCELLENT. FAR BETTER THAN ANY OTHER CAR IN THIS CLASS. HIGH SPEED RIDE IS SO GOOD. during lane change manouvers, this car is extremely stable. hydraulic power steering is so good. it offers god feedback.

Final Words Buy this car if you want good VFM. SPACE GOOD FOR TALL PEOPLE LIKE ME.

Areas of improvement INTERIOR PLASTIC QUALITY, COST OF SPARES , NOTHING ELSE.

Exterior Stylish, yet decent.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) When it comes to space, FIGO beats every car in the segment. May be its leg room, or boot, its really spacious. Audio system coupled with bluetooth connectivity is good. Driver seat height adjustment gives the extra comfort both in city & highway conditions.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Well, I am not into automobile engineering & hence, don't want to comment on this. My experience was really good & feel, the view @ grip are above standerds. Not yet tested the fule economy.

Ride Quality & Handling Apart from low GC, their is nothing to blame about. The feel of the stearing gives u a confidince that u r in perfect control.

Final Words Great compition to Swift vdi. Value for money. Mentainence cost lower vis-a- vis Swift vdi.

Areas of improvement Interiors. GC.

Looks, Space, Grip, Boot Space, Value for Money.interiors lack rich look.

 

Exterior Exterior is decent and nothing so special , But its very nicely designed and its decent.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interior is too spacious . Good Road view , comfort seating .. Feel so pride to drive and overtake big big giant cars :)

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Power is excellent , Milage is superb . Gear box is little tight sometime . May be its not a big issue at all. Its quiet gives more comfort in driving at high speed (more than 120 km/hr).

Ride Quality & Handling Its very comfort to drive and steering handling is too smooth and excellent.

Final Words I dont think that , swift can reaach near to figo with features wise and comfort wise. Figo is value for money when we compared to anyother hatch back cars in Indian market.

Areas of improvement Need to stylish in interiro designing . should come up with more colours in dash board . Rear window is the main drawback where all customers points.

Exterior Good Aerodynamic design and great look.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Excellent, Plastic quality is so good campared to other brands. AC performance is awesome. Bluetooth Feature is the highlight among all. The Figo’s interiors are pretty spacious, well equipped and solidly built, and in fact the Figo comes across as a Fiesta without a boot.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Good throttle response, need to check with the fuel economy after sometime as its a brand new car. Coming to gearbox, its very smooth and smart.

Ride Quality & Handling Outstanding Body Stability even at higher speeds.

Final Words Good value for money interms of features offered by Ford. Figo has really swaped my drive from purchasing Swift.

Areas of improvement Its too early for me to comment on this as I purchased the car few days ago. Will comment on this after few days of use. However, heard that Ford need to really concentrate on after sales support in India.

Good Looks, Superb Music System and great driving & Seating Comfort. Finally, good value for money.No Rear Power Windows(Not really matters)

 

Exterior Suits everyones taste.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Well built,but lacks feel of quality and premium feel,spacious.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Both engines are not winners ,cannot match with swift or ritz,but do their job.diesel more preferable with more performance and mileage.[i already own a figo petrol also.

Ride Quality & Handling Better than swift.

Final Words It was a value for money car.but slowly ford is stepping out from that thinking of companies benefit and not customers.price has increased by 30,000 for each varient.zxi which used to have electrical mirrors ,rear defogger and wash viper has been stripped off from that now. I was planning to exchange my ritz for figo diesel but I have now second thoughts.when other companies are trying to add more features on varients ford is doing opposite,.its bad for the sales.already figo has some features missing when compared to swift like tilt steering,engine performance,quality level etc if they take such measures it will affect badly.figo became popular just because its spacious and cheap with more features compared to other hatches.but now things have changed and figo is loosing its advantage.increse in price is justifiable but reduction in already provided features with more price hike is not a good eqution.

Exterior Exteriors are quite good. Nice low profile and longer than few other hatchbacks.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

Space: is abudent. Boot space is also quiet large(i.t. 280 ltr). Nice car for long ride both at front and rear.  Music system is very good, AC is freezing cold(kidding, but cools fast). Little bit addition of height to the car would make the car ideal. But that's not a big concern.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is bit noisy or the cabin noise is high. Not sure. Fuel economy was between 10-11 (50% city, 50% highways) KMPL initially. Now after 5000 Kms it's gone up a bit. Getting 13 now. Gearbox is bit hard, but I like it.

Ride Quality & Handling Superb. It is the best thing in this car. Ground clearance (not a big issue if you change to high profile tires).

Final Words With some problems as explained above. If you are looking for spacious car with all basic features like AC, MP3 player etc under 4.5 lacs, go for it. If you are willing to spend more go for swift, Punto, i20. This car can't be compared with space of i10 and handling of swift,vista.

 Ford FIGO looks really cool as the name indicates. figo=cool....i own a red figo, just love the color....stands out amongst the other cars..its 12ft long wide car hence yu get the added space for the boot..

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

 lots of leg room for a hatchback (4+1), big spacious boot space, music system(kenwood) is really awesome...no need to upgrade it...the AC cools up the cabin pretty fast....basic features fitted into console...ALL packed for an indian family.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

Ford legendary TDCi engine what else to say abt it..very gud throttle response with the turbo, it gives a mileage of 20km/lt in city(AC on) on highways give a 27km/lt...short throws in gear shift is huge factor for driving in city..Sleek...

Ride Quality & Handling

 this is the big PRO in this car...awesome handling..ride is very smooth n comfortable...ABS is an added advantage in braking...

Final Words

FIGO won the car of the year 2011, against really major competitions..still going strong..

we wanted to buy a hatchback with ABS at 6 lakh,

we chose the FIGO from TATA VISTA(poor interiors n exteriors),CHEVY BEAT(rear legroom n boot a BIG CON) , SWIFT ( figo is lot spacious compared n damn cheaper too) ...on the factors considered, i now own the COOL american buddy.

Way to go , FORD

Exterior A little outdated from the rear, bearing resemblance to the old Ford Fusion can't be good but still one can make do with it

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) It comes loaded with features like bluetooth, a very good audio system for this class, the AC is very powerful. Space, comfort and ride quality have set a new bench mark in this category which no car has been able to match yet

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The engine could have done with some more power. But the power is very usuable since the peak torque is delivered at 2000rpm. Great for city driving. It is the best manual gearbox I have ever used. Fuel economy depends on your driving style, should be between 14 to 19 in the city.

Ride Quality & Handling The ride quality and handling is unparalelled. The suspension can handle much more power and    it can be pushed to the limit! Ford is very rightly called a poor man's BMW.

Final Words Looking for a diesel hatchback in this category, it's a must buy.

Areas of improvement Looks need to be improvement, a little wider tyres would be good too and they certainly shoudl remap the ECU to deliver more power.
