I bought the car in Nov'2009. In August'2010 I have completed 15000 kms.

When I gave the car for 2nd service ( 15000 kms ) , the service people told that there is a problem with the brake booster . Braking was hard and i felt it lot of times. But I thought it might be because of the ABS. The service people have told me that the booster is defective as the packing got loose and air is entering. They promptly told me that they cannot deliver the vehicle unless it is fixed. They ordered the part and the issue is resolved .  Sad part is that I had to wait for almost 13 days.

The service people were responsive and pro actively identified the issue and resolved.  I guess the service is getting better with the tie up TATA. I enjoyed owning the Grande Punto and I love driving it. It gives a different feel when you drive the top end Punto .  It is worth the money.   

SWIFT/RITZ might be good in lot of aspects ( Price , Fuel efficiency etc ) , but the drive is not comparable to Grande Punto. Driving Grande Punto gives a different kind of pleasure. You can feel the weight of the car and feel secure.

Way to go FIAT !!

Advice to FIAT Make the parts avaialbe quickly.

 

Ride quality and handling , Bold driveLeg room at the rear , Fuel economy ( only 13 kms in city )

 

Exterior The looks of this car is awesome just like dream comes true. Best looking hatchback in India thats what I feel. The rear look of this car makes car different from its rivals its so sporty.

 

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interiors are so good. Black & Gray combination is of my taste, easy to maintan. The comfort from seats is too good. The dead peddle is amazing when you are going for long drive. Features like Real time Fuel Consumtion Indicator, Average Fuel Consumption really helps to get the optimum FE. Trip distance, Trip Time feature of MFD is too useful. The steering is great the design is very good.

 

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox If you are looking for only power then go for Punto 1.4 Petrol or if you are looking for decent power with great FE then go for Punto 1.2 Petrol. As the people said Punto 1.2 has less power I dont agree to them. It has sufficient power.  

 

Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality of Punto, no other car india will beat that in its class. No one come close to it. I dont have words for the ride quality of Punto. Just Amazing.

 

Final Words Close your eyes & go for Fiat Grande Punto 1.2 Emotion. Best value for money. 

 

Areas of improvement

1) Speakers in Punto has very less power. Need to provide bit powerful Speakers. 

2) Reverse light should be on driver side & not on co-driver side.

 

FE for such a heavy car, The best handling, Driving Pleasure, Steering Wheel,Multifunctional DisplayPower delivery after AC on better to go for Punto 1.4 Emotion for people who wants power.

 

Exterior Looks good.

 

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Reasonable for the size.

 

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Not so great especially  while overtaking.

 

Ride Quality & Handling That is the one good thing about this car

 I took delivery of the car on 20-7-09 from RF Motors, Cochin. After 5000 KM I found that there is a dip in oil  level  and I reported the same to the service engineer at CONCORD MOTORS,Cochin. But they told me that this may be because the car is new and they simply toped up the engine oil.However the problem persisted and the car consumed one lit. oil for every 5000 Km.By the time I had done 15000 Km, while engaging the reverse gear the Car start to make a grinding noise and here again the service engineer advised me to be more precise to engage the reverse gear.Now I had done 30000 Km and took the vehicle to the dealer for the 3rd service. Fortunately this time  the service engineer at CONCORD Motors, Cochin got convinced that there is a problem with the Turbo as well as gearbox and the same shall be rectified as and when spares arrived and I am now waiting for their call. But the most alarming thing about this car is it shows signs of rusting at many places and I do not know what they are going to do with this problem. The service engineer told me that he had sent photographs to Fiat and waiting for their reply. In Kerala the labor cost is too high and it will be very expensive to have any body repair. This is not definitely expected from Fiat. 

 

Good look, driving comfort and stabilitymechanical problems at the beginning itself

 

Exterior Gives u a great taste of ITALIAN styling and EURO modelling. quality of steel used is by far the best in the range none of the other cars give u this heavy quality.Tyres are broad enough to give u a perfect road grip.Have a look at the car from the front side and u will fall in love instantly.

 

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Good feel of interiors with dual tone interiors gives u a good cozy feeling when u are inside.An excellent quality in built mp3 system with radio and good quality speaker system makes your ride pleasurable only xdraw back though is lack of USB port.

 

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Great performance of the engine and a very good fuel economy in city as well as on highway.No prob with bear box its very smooth and gear shifting pattern is smooth for a comfortable drive.Car is smooth at 30 also in fifth gear.

 

Ride Quality & Handling Great one infact excellent.

 

Final Words A Perfect car for hatch back lovers.

Exterior Sporty Looks and very sturdy built.

 

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort Dashboard console is good, drivers car. Excellent additional features with the price. Speakers and audio system are not good. No USB option with Emotion model. Good driving and steering control.

 

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox 1.2L Diesel - good performance, great mileage and smooth gearbox. Gives me around 18 in city and 21 on highways (BTW the higways which we went were too good and maintained a speed of 100 - 110 KM / Hr (with A/C). Have been from Chennai, BLR, Mysore, Coorg, Kannur - near mangalore and back the same route to Chennai). Hill driving was very smooth, good pickup and superb braking.

 

Ride Quality & Handling Excellent.

 

Final Words Smooth driving and steering control, Excellent millage, very comfortable for 4. Good no of extra options with the price. Overall I am satisfied.

 

Areas of improvement

1.  Ground clearance needs to better

2. No USB option in Emotion which has inbuilt sterio (only Emotion Pack)

3. Sales and after Sales as usual needs huge improvement.

4. Back seat space can be looked little more better.

Exterior sturdy body as Fiat cars are known for...wiper are very powerful,headlights most powerful  that i ha ve witnessed in market.

 

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interior is plush  & royal,very spacious (at the back 4 hefty people r comfortable).AC is very powerful.stereo system with 4 speaker superb.

 

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox 1.2l petrol engine superb!! Fuel economy is worrisome(after first service reduce to 9.2 from 14) Gearbox and hand brake with sensors etc is good.

 

Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is awesome.it gets firm grip of road at top speed or any speed.it makes very less noise. it has great pick up!  handling is also good. had the steering hard problem..but after wheel alignment and balancing got rectified!!

 

Final Words Mileage is worry .as petrol is Rs64/litre. it  is only 9.2km/l after second service also..worrisome!! looks is outstanding!! interior & exterior very good!!

 

Areas of improvement

1) work on mileage.

2) after opening the dickey, the rear trims above the deckspace wear out. the clips inside are very fragile. common problem in grande punto!!

3) Fiat needs to work on customer relation and satisfaction. as my fiat car on delivery developed dozen of glitches. was frustrated to get such a defective car. but after lot of hardwork, every defect was sorted out. i sought for a replacement. but all fell on deaf ears--).

4) Fiat should go out in market agressively alone. as they are lagging in promotion and sales especially the punto car.

5) after repeated reporting and inspection,the brakes hardening remains unrectified.fiat is not bothered. in slow crowded places like vegetable market, after repeated brake application. it becomes extremely hard. which is big worry!!

 

Good style,strong exterior,very powerful head light and back light,firm grip on road,very spaciousmoderate mileage(9.2),Brakes become hard in slow very crowded places,rear trim above deck space weak

 

Exterior  Everything U can Imagine. Front is like Aston Martin db9.

 

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Front is spacious, Back seat leg space satisfying, Super Comfort. Features are also excellent Blue and me is a helpful thing.

 

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Feels like driving a Mercedes, World Famous Engine is very responsive.

 

Ride Quality & Handling Great Handling and ride quality.

 

Final Words Great Car to be used in cities and highways. Five Persons can be sit with comfort. Boot space also is good, Value for Money, This is no doubt a superb car.

The mini-Maserati front end is the highlight of the car, the tear drop headlamps looking striking. Flared wheel arches are well integrated and add a bit of muscle to the car's profile. 15 inch wheels and a wide 195 patch tyre (mounted on 12 spoke alloys) give the Emotion variant a particularly balanced stance. The alloys themselves are not to my taste, but these are a li'l better than most OEM alloy wheels. The rear looks neat & tidy, thanks to the C-Pillar light arrangement. The Grande Punto wears an overall proportionate design and looks particular smashing in red or black body colours. Clearly, the Italians know a thing or two about style. In some ways, the Grande Punto does come across a modern sibling of the Palio. To me, the Hyundai i20 was the best looking hatch on our roads, until I saw the Punto in the flesh on wednesday.

 

Areas of improvement Dashboard has to be better.

 

Styling,Economy,Features,Safety,Powerful ACPlastic Quality Not Upto Mark

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Features Great, Space --Poor Legroom at Rear, Comfort --OK.

 

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine looked alright during my test drives, heard fuel economy was only 9 km in city conditions and the Gearbox was average.

Final Words If i buy this car, it will be my heart ruling my Mind.I want to buy this car because i like the looks of it and the stability.I know it has a lot of disadvantages---Poor service record ( I feel FIAT should step in instead of TATAS ) ,Mileage Bad, Parts getting defective in a new car etc.I have my Opel corsa since the past 11 years and pl trust me, i have had no major repairs OR breakdowns OR replacements.I need the same from the Fiat Punto as well.Well i hv my reservations --- reading so many reviews.I am keen on a Petrol version since i like the Petrol engine refinements over the diesels and my running is around 1500 kms per month mostly in the city.

 

Areas of improvement SERVICE< REAR LEGROOM SPACE<REVERSE VIEW<PARTS AVAILABILITY. I am looking forward to a FRANK advicefrom the Punto 1.4 Emotion Pack ( Petrol users ) only.I have looked at the Polos, Fabias, Marutis, Hyundais as well.Which car do I buy, I need Air bags, Blue Me, A/C.Climatic Controls etc.Punto has ALL the features i am looking for.

 

Styling, Solidity, Safety, Handling ComfortMileage,Poor Service under TATAS

 

Exterior Compare to i20,swift vdi, body built quality is very good & good front look.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Less boot space,poor plastic quality,no rear AC vents, riding comfort is very good.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Powerful 90hp adavanced multi jet egnine with good fuel economy i.e in city 16.5 kms & in highway's 20 kms, Clutch & gear box is very smooth compare to swift.

Ride Quality & Handling Good riding & handling comfort.

Final Words I just completed 2250kms in my vehicle, good vehicle in this segment ,major concern is service ,,so think before u buy in all respects.

Areas of improvement Back shoks( thud thud) noise while going thro' bumps / pathole's, need to be rectified or upgradtion need to be done. Worst service in TATA showroom,no one aware about the technical/ mechanical works. all the time engineer need to come & resolve the issue. Overall experience W R T service is very worst. Request to All fiat people try to keep customers happy by provoding good service.

Out look & comfortWorst service,,interiors is not upto mark i.e quality of plastic is very bad.
