I bought my Palio (petrol, 1.2 ELX) in 2002. It has been a wonderful companion - tough, and zero complaints - with the exception of perhaps a month or two when the vehicle reached an age of about 6 years. It needed a little TLC at that time (not expensive, about 15 K worth of servicing), and its been running fine ever since.
I intend to part with my car only to buy a larger car, to meet the needs of a growing family, otherwise it feels good to go for a couple of years more, at least. There are a few people who complain about its fuel economy, but I get about 11-12 in city, with the AC, and given its pedigree, i think its quite all right.
The ride is good, and the car has a lot of features. The car has been tremendous value for money. Negatives - pretty ordinary looks, but its turning radius has got to be the one big negative point for the car.
