poor service quality. car ride quality is average. 10-11KMPL (mixed A/c on) mileage is really not acceptable for this small segment car. Buy only if using it for city drive & if you are not very fuel concious (hard to find people not concious about fuel with current high fuel prices).
Service center lacks trained/experienced staff, who can listen & understand the problem. You try your best & end of the day they would return back the cehicle with problem/s as it is or another problem cropping out.
Overall the vehicle can make you happy with the price proposition but think about the post sales service. Service Rating 2/5.
One cannot expect a 1000 cc engine to guzzle fuel @10-11 KMPL. I have a data maintained if anybody wants.Mileage rating 2/5

The day i bought this car i just fell in love with it.It just cost me Rs 3.45 lakhs to buy this comfyride.
I can say that this is the best car in its category because i have used some of the other cars in this category.But spark has some real spark in it.
I have driven all other cars of this category but what spark's speciality is it gives unmatched comfort even for a taller guy(5'11") like me.
Its real big from inside.A good legspace,nice interior and more than that what a good stable, silent,smooth ride it is.Its not shaky like other cars of this category even at the speed of 110.
Its compact design makes it smooth to park.
Its engine is so silent that sometimes I idiotically key it again to check that it is on or not.
It has better ground clearance(Botom of car is not gonna hit the speed breakers or stones at all).I am driving it on roads of Madhyapradesh and I can tell you from my experience,no matter how bad your road is (can't be bad than roads of Madhyapradesh) you will not feel the odds of any road if you are sitting in chevrolet spark.
My car has crossed 3000 km. and giving a good mileage of 16/lt.
In the end I will talk about its style...you can judge how stylist it is by seeing the admiration in eyes of peoples crossing by you.It feels good when somebody personally come to you and admires the looks of your car..More than 50 strangers have complimented my car since january 1st of 2009, the day i bought it.

Exterior I bought this really wonderful car in june09.WOW what a car.The first thing that attracted me towards this car is its great looks.I initially thought of buying an alto but my daughter insisted that i try other makes also Thats when i came across SPARK i really appreciate GM for giving many good features like power steering , tubeless tyres for such cheap price.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interior is really cool with full beige upholstery but the dashboard is a bit dull But the car is a compact five seater and really suits my family of four It is a great city car, fun to drive around.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The engine is impressive and smooth but the gear box is slightly sluggish. it gives the best mileage in city with full time ac on.
Final Words My family loves spark i also strongly recomend spark for all those seeking to buy their first car. Because of its small size parking in the city is no problem it also offers many free services and hence maintenence is no problem.
Areas of improvement The dashboard can be accesorised well and the gear can be improved. For all those owning a spark HAPPY DRIVING :-).

We just bought a Spark 25 days ago, and it's a beast. Though it's been driven only 150-200 kms till date and no trip > 20km was made, it's current performance has given a fairly good idea of what's it gonna be in the future. Thanks to recession, I got it for 3,21,000 [Insurance + Registration included]
Highlights
1. A powerful and ultra-smooth engine. For those who're crying about the lack of valves, don't go by the specs, feel it run.
2. A highly efficient cabin when it comes to sound-proofing. If you've rolled your windows fully, you can't be sure if the engine is running or not.
3. A nice AC.
4. Little features and pockets at every place. More than what you could wish for.
5. Best machine in it's range. Estilo equivalent model i.e. LXi is expensive by about Rs. 20,000. Slightly more expensive than Alto but gives additional displacement of 202 cc [Alto-796cc, Spark - 998cc]
6. Watery steering. Doesn't require any effort to turn.
7. Excellent feeling while driving. Zen[older model], Alto, 800 feel like toys but this one actually feels like a machine.
8. A little low mileage. Though it might be because it's new and hasn't been tested on long trips.
9. The worst thing is that it's so lovely that you can't bear to see a speck of dust on it. You keep running around it with a bucket of water and towel.
Again it hasn't been tested on long trips, and long time, these are only short time observations. But if these do remain, it's a best buy, esp. now, when we got a discount of about 45,000 due to recession.

Spark has excellent exterier distinct with newly designed tail late
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort): The car is spacious interiors than we expect from outside view. The rear seat passenger will have enough leg space. The car is ideal for who suffer from back ache and spinal problems.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox: The spark's S-tech engine offers a good power with silent operation. It highly powerful and doesnot feel underpowered when you switch on AC. Well designed engine packed with enough power
Ride Quality & Handling: The car is agile when in the city traffic. You feel its agility when U are parking the vehicle in a slot or driving though the bussy traffic.
Final Words
Valuable for Money. You can not expect more for this price.
Areas of improvement
The reflection of the dash board on the windscreen creates ghost images. It affects the visibility.
The service of dealers should be improved. GM never responds to any emails addressed to them. GM has to build a strong relation with its customers directly bypassing the dealers. Then only the pulse of the customers reach the manufacturer

I purchased Chevy Spark LT on May 2nd ‘2011. Have already driven it for 150 KM. I will also post my feedback once I complete 1000KM later. My current experience is as below:
Before delivery experience
1. In 4-4.25 lacs budget I was looking for a car which will provide me good performance, mileage & decent features (if not the best). Some mid models of Wagon R, A Star & i10 were in my original preview. However I later decided for Chvey Spark top model which not just offered me excellent features, but also gave good mileage, low maintenance cost etc at that too at a lower price as compared to other manufacturers.
2. In order to ensure that I got the best deal I interacted with 3-4 Checy dealers in Mumbai, bargained hard & got an amazing quote through GIAN motors in Sion. My experience with them was far superior as compared to any other Chevy dealer both in terms of cust serivce & competitive pricing.
Exterior Both the front and back are very well designed. Side mirrors are no longer body colored. Also, wiper on the rear mirror has also been discontinued since a month or so. Websites are not updated with this information. 60/40 rear seat split is also no longer available. All this was a setback but a deterrent to buy another car.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)
Features: The front dashboard panel is well made. Music system is fitted well in it and overall it has a good finish. Bage interiors give a aesthetic look. It took me time to understand the digital meter in the dashboard. Not all information comes in the display & at one go. You need to do a few clicks to change the display options.
Space: Good space. 3 people can sit comfortable in back seats.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox For 150 KM run with AC, I got approx 15K mileage (50 - 50 split highway & city). This was as per expectations. Shifting to reverse gear is not smooth always (have read this in other reviews as well). However I think this is more to do with getting used to with the car rather than a product issue.
Ride Quality & Handling I have not driven on greater than 80 KM speeds since the car is new but my experience in 150 KM run is highly satisfactory.
Final Words Very good car for the price range, powerful ac even on 1st level. Rather than spending more on the models I mentioned above, go for this car. 3 years free service warranty also lead to my decision to buy this car. Be sure about the features mentioned in the website. Not all is currently offered. It may be the reason for your switch to some other car. Choose the correct dealer. If you bargain hard you will also get CPCO (spar parts warranty for 3 years) free and good cash discount. Go for GIAN motors if you are in Mumbai.
Areas of improvement Reverse gear shifting. Basic products/features like rear parcel tray, body color mirrors etc don't come by default (not sure how much chevy will save by not providing all this).

Exterior The Exteriors of the car is pretty good, strong and I have no complaints about it.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) I think the car is offered with decent features; however, the space in the car is not up to the mark. The comfort level of the car is of Top quality with respect to any 1000cc car.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Perfect Engine, The car is over 41000 Kms old, the sound of the engine is as good as day one. When you sit in it (at idling speed) you cannot make out whether the car is on or off. I have no complaints about Fuel Economy as it gives me 16+ KMPL (AC on and off) in city traffic conditions and on the highway it gives more than 19 KMPL (AC on and off). The car was driven for over 1400 Kms during the first week of October 2011 and there is no sign of giving up on the part of the engine or mileage. Regarding the gear box, I'm not a mechanical engineer to comment on it. But, as a layman, I can tell that the car has precise gear shifts and no vibration from the Gear Nob even at speeds above 110 KMPH. However, I felt vibrations from the steering wheel when driven above 120 KMPH.
Ride Quality & Handling Ride Quality of the car is perfect, on the highway there were many places that had uneven patchwork, potholes, ditches, huge speed breakers, suspension breaking roads for a stretch of more than 70 kms at a time. The car handled all of that without causing difficulty to the passengers who were onboard. The handling of the car is par beyond excellence for a 1000cc car. In city, when I have to reach office and I'm in a situation where I have to race against time, I usually drive rough and change lanes in parallel manner and turn at high speeds. Honestly, I tell you this car never let me down in handling at slow or speeds at 60-70 Kms in city driving. The car behaves the way I want it to behave.
Final Words I usually do not market a product unless someone pays me for it. Nevertheless, after coming back from a Highway trip, that included the NH along the Eastern Coastal region and the terrible bypass and village roads of India. I must say that this car is a 'GEM' and the Best among the small hatchbacks. The car has given me more than 19 KMPL for a trip of over 1400 KMS within 4 days. As mentioned earlier, the odometer has clocked over 41000 KMS, it shows no sign of fatigue and the car is still Eveready for more long trips.
I recommend this car for anyone who wishes to travel with 3 (Healthy) people, 3 cabin approved suitcases and 3-4 backpacks for very long trips, small families and people who wish to enjoy a quick, precise ride in city driving conditions. I also feel that GM India has got it right and they are making cars with international quality for the Indian market. GM cars are the cars to buy. I don’t mind buying another GM car in the future.
Areas of improvement The important area for Improvement is 'space', I feel GM should take note of it and do something about it. I'm a healthy person; hence, space has to improve. Also, I suggest the petrol engine should be replaced with a diesel engine of Chevrolet Beat.

I have bough my spark in 2010. I have driven it for around 15000kms. When I bought the car, I made a thorough research about the car on internet. I didn't miss any single review about it. So I am surprised or shocked by the performance of the car after I started using. I knew the pros and cons of the car. I have summarised my views about the car below. My advise to people who consider buying this car, please remember that you are going to pay aroung 4lakhs for the car. So dont compare it with a car which cost more that this proce. Even santro is costlier than spark. For this price this is undoubtedly the best car. Ofcourse there few cons for this car, but every car have got its own cons and we need to take a balanced decision considering both the good and bad aspects.
