      I had brought spark LS last dec,and it has been 5 months now.I feel totally satisfied with its performance and the service that GM offers.The look is good and the performance during long travels is really superb. The leg space is good and has no problems while driving in hill stations. I would suggest this car for the ones who plan to buy the small segment car.Good style when compared to other cars in the same segment

      My car has been completed 5000 kms. And I went to the showroom for Service. you know how much I have been charged. 00.00 Rs. Milege is awesome. 17km/l Petrol. 16.8km/l GAS.

      Really Nice. If you go around 130 km/h. It's really smooth. I am really happy with my Car.

       Milage is really good. I researched with other car owners. WAGNOR and SANTRO They are getting only 10-12 Max. When compre to the other cars, Really awesome.

      I bought it on 31st Oct 2009. It's good. Milage is really good. AC is good. and Legroom is good.

       

      If you see the back seat. It's really nice. you can not get pain.

      Engine is very smooth in GAS and really good while your road inclination is more and If you climb a mountain. Really performance is good. I have never faced any issues with my car.

      But only with the dealer. I went for service to KROPEX. They did very worst service. I asked them about the service. They did not respond well. I raised a complaint againest them with GM. Immediatly they called me up and took my car. I was surprised. They did the service good. Really nice. Serviced my car properly with out Single NP. They changed all the Engine oil, Break oil, Power steering oil. Coolent. Really nice. GM has taken care of all these. Really nice.

       

      I hear from some one like, they are facing issues. Just raise complaint againest them with GM,.

      Hello viewer!

      I have PS Model. And I must agree for its fine work. First I thought of comparing it with Alto. NO WAYS mate. It is far better than Alto. There is in fact no comparison. The gear movement at Alto sucks. In Spark its unbelievably smooth. Seamless handover within gear shifts. Mileage yet to discover but i guess 12 with AC is what the minimum we can expect. Co claims for 14.9 with AC on highways.Its a better brand anyways. Parking is much simpler now! What people get afraid of is - Cock pit style placement of speedometer stuff. Well enjoy the difference dude. Your mate at the neighbour seat puts a hold and checks on your topping up speed. Its true! Best way to judge SPARK is go have a drive. Wait for a week drive other cars. Drive again and then decide. Also drive higher segments cars that would help you appreciate its gear system. All the best for a sparkling future with SPARKing car mate.

      I was a bit confused at the onset, as i wanted a car which is blistering quick but at small prize.Initially there was only swift in my mind as it has got more BHP than others in that segment.but traditionally maruti cars are not known for their speedo gimics,so again i was confused.Then a close friend of mine told me about this small mini spark.Looking at the car at first instant i thought this mini can it live upto my xpectations?the interiors though are not the best as far colours are concerned but as it was a product of world's NO 1 company it werent bad as either.The spark hosts a good different instrument cluster at the centre.the lights in front of steering column are very lively and full of varied info about the car. The most important of all is the small,blistering quick 63 bhp engine.I was quiet shocked to see the output of this engine.The gears ratios are so nicely spacedthat you dont feel the lag at any moment.Dabb the throttle hard on the floor and the engines opens up its tap giving an unbeleviable speed of 168 kph.I was very impressed to see the speed of this car which was almost similar to speed of midsize sedan.The time required to go from 0- 100 kph was only 14 sec.Even in the city the car is very easy and very manevurable in the drive.The brakes are also very good and AC is quite good.I wish GM has transformed old matiz into modern matiz but with an awesome piece of machinery.They should give tubeless tyres as a standard fitting.Th eview from inside is also quite good.

      THe most important part the fuel economy,I got 18 km/l on highway with AC on and average speed of about 145 kph while on city it returned with 13 km/l. 

      All in all great car to own.

      Couldn't resist writing.I have driven 25000 kms(in 2 years) and my sparkLT gives me immense pleasure every time I drive it.I am happy I made the right choice.Excellent city car (u r always ahead on red lights and zipping , overtaking is easy) and comfortable highway car (cruises silently at 90kms/hour with feeling of control on the road).I have done some good cross-country trips of more than 500 kms single day return in my Chevy and it has been a comfortable drive every time.Engine is still silent and service is good(I am at Delhi).My recommendation for all. Mileage in city(Delhi traffic) close to 13-14 (with 100% ac) on highways approx.17kms/lit(with AC).AC is good even in Delhi sweltering weather.Most refined small carBoot

      Hi guys,

      I jus received my chevy spark-LT model on friday 4-4-08, I am totally satisfied with my dealer national garage in andheri as they promised me delivery in 15 days & i got it exactly on the15th day evening,
                      i look for some futuristic value in any car & believe me i am immensly satisfied driving my chevy so far, it just so silent that even when its ON u actually have to hit the gas hard to hear the engine noise & if u are driving with A/C ON, then its really tough to hear any sound, the interiors are plush with blue fabric & lots of storage space in every nook & corner, the best part is the gas filled suspensions which gave me the feel of the Suzuki Grand Vitara which i recently drove of a friend , as only the big segment cars have this facility. i think none of the small cars in India has this fearture, i ain’t joking u should test drive the spark to believe me, its like a big car bundled in a small hatchback though the boot is a bit low on space but i don’t drive out of bombay or with much luggage so thats not a problem for me, there is also a low humming boom when u drive in high speed, its ok with me but my wife has very sensible ears & she was a bit irritated with it for some time but finally was taken aback with the driving comfort & great features, apart from this i cannot take any cons out,
                      I did a lot of research before going for my chevy spark, all those santro’s, wagon-r’s, & zen estilo’s can take a hike, if u are looking for a small & sensible car this is it guyz, test drive it to believe it.....though if u can stretch your budget a bit Hyundai i-10 is also a great option with super interiors & futuristic design, i have also taken the 3yr cashless ownership offer which is still on & i am told by my dealer that, all i should is just fill my petrol & all parts, repairs, maintenance & any problem will be taken care by them for next 3year, though the battery, tyres & accident bents & damages are not covered, i still feel its a great deal.
      i will also post another review after 1000kms of me driving my chevy.....until then happy driving to all you guys....

      Everything is near perfectt....cheers to gm-chevrolet teamlow humming cabin noise at high speed & a bit smaller boot.

      Hi All....

      After a long long thought process....  i finally bought my first car....Spark LS. I just want to tell you all that most of mind was occupied by New Zen Estilo before i took the test drive of Spark LS.....  and tht was the moment i changed my mind completely....

      Spark LS cost me around 3.26 (on road) which includes and insurance, registration in HARYANA for LS version with metalic color.

      At first glance Spark seems really cool car...  i hope it will prove itself to be the best in this segment.

      I will keep sharing my experiences as i move along with this CAR

      Experience

      I bought a Chevrolet Spark on 17th July, 2009 I have following problems with the car:

      1. AC of spark: AC kills performance nearly half of actuals.

      2. Service/Spare part prices are exorbitant when compared to other vehicles of same segment. Irrespective of what is shown on website, anything not mentioned there costs a fortune. AC Condenser costs 6000.I found out all this after a very small journey of mere 500kms.

      3. I've driven the car for just 6000 km, but have visited workshop 5 times for various problems sinc last year.

      GM believes in selling and forgetting.

      After sales is practically non existent, and the company officials are trained to push aside any service related issue stating "this is not a major issue, it happens & this particular fault is not covered under your 3yr so call free maintence", specifically if the vechicle is under warranty.

      4. I've observed rust in its silencer just after six months of its purchase. On showing the same thing to the workshop tecnician, he said its perfeclty ok. All u gotta do is just make a small expense of Rs. 3000 & have the anti-rust coating being made in the base of the body. He smartly pushed aside the rusting silencer part.


      Finally two days ago, I had been to a destination away from the city 200kms and on the way two major things happened:

      (i) Silencer's thin cover broke off (on the rusted part), pick up gone.

      (ii) the AC failed to function

      5. Today after returning, I had taken it directly to the workshop to get the same being treated, and to my surprise the technician said the AC condensor has blown away and it would cost Rs.6000 for its repair as said by VIPUL.

      So have no choice but to bear these expenes.

      The executive at the time of Sale did make sure that Sir you would not be required to pay a single penny frm your pocket for three years and that even a small thing like fuse of a headlight bulb will also be covered under the same.

       

      NOTE: "Just confirm what all are the things that will be covered under 3 yr warranty package. not to be covered by warranty".

       

      Areas of improvement  

      Service after sales, warranty covers...

      Things what are assured/waranteed needs to be done & practised practically.

      Do not cheat a customer's faith..

      Exterior While purchasing the vehicle before delivery care must be taken to check the entire vehicle. I had a bad experience. Somehow finishing touchs of the vehicle is very careless and you need to check the Door Biddings as they are not done properly. Check the Indicators.

       

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interior decoration is good. But the floor matting is in peach color, which will quickly get spoiled. You need to go for additional matting to cover it up. Care should be taken to check the front dash board as you may experience little noise while starting the vehicle. For a new car this will be irritating. sitting space is very good and comfortable. AC cooling will be less. Be prepared for it. While driving the vehicle with AC on pickup will be very less.

       

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine performace in good after 1st service. Initially Gears will be tight. Slight disadvantage with the Gear box is it is very incovenient to the person sitting next to you, as everytime you are changing the gear, you will be touching the thigh of your friend sitting next to u.

       

      Ride Quality & Handling I purchased the vehicle 2 months back. Presently vehicle is doing good. Hadling of the vehicle from the showroom is a major cause of worry as you cannot believe the dealer. VEHICLE SHOULD BE INSPECTED BEFORE YOU TAKE IT. Service of the vehicle particularly with Orange Automotive Hyderabad is very bad. They will not fix any of your problems even after repeated requests.

       

      Final Words Its a good car. Please check the above.

      A year and a couple of months crossed, and little spark is rocking.

      Mileage - 17kmpl in city, 24 on freeway

      I have been planning to buy a car since April 2011. Initialy I was eyeing at the mid segment cars (5-7 Lakhs price range) and was nearly fixed my mind to go for Tata. Test drove a few sedans too (Linea, Manza, Indigo CS). Keeping fuel economy in mind I did not buy any of the sedans. After quite a fea testdrives and few months of research I finally settled my eyes on Alto K10, Maruti Swift, Hyundai i10 and Chevrolet Beat. Spark was not in my first list.

      Swift is awesome car, but there are too many of them on the road. It is too common.

      Alto K10 has good mileage, but Maruti interiors are really cheap. God knows when Maruti will stop taking their customers for granted. It's time they spend some time in re-designing the interiors with better quality plastic.

      Hyundai i10 is good, but the seat ia a little uncomfortable for my wife, so immediately off the list.

      Finally it was Chevy Beat. I testdrove Beat and was happy with the engine performance. I have read in many reviews that the rear is a bit cramped in Beat. Sop I asked the Chevy personnel to drive the car while I sit at the back. Man, it really is cramped. Gives you a feel of having no window at all.

      The Chevy guy wanted me to testdrive Spark after I expressed that the rear seems cramped. I was not willing much, but decided to go for it, after all a testdrive won't matter, provided that thery are bringing the vehicle to my office.

      I was not much impressed about the looks, but once I sat in thedriver's seat, I could feel the difference with the other cars I drove. It's like you have everything neatly designed and in place. The seat is comfortable, so is the steering position (it does not come with adjustable steering, and height adjustable seat though). I immediately loved it. Best thing is the pick-up of the engine. I did not expect it to be so good. One little push in the acceleretor and whooos it goes. I did some high speed cornering, and the car seemed to be stable (I don't expect much from a car of slightly tall-boy structure). Aero dynamics is really good for this vehicle. Finally bought it at July 7th 2011.

      Droven till date:- 3000+ km

      On road  in Bnaglore :- 4.10 (After a hefty discount of 60+ K from GM) [mind it, mine is the top end model having all that spark can provide] (Nice bargain, right :) ?)

      Exterior Looks good. Looks preetier from back than the front view. View from front reminds me of Matiz, but from back it seems to be very small and cute. Nice backlights and boot design. Metal quality is not very good. You can expect scratches more foten than not. Don't bother you will be safe inside.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

      Features: Read GM brochure for this. There is so much I can't right it down here. (Don't expect steering mounted sterio control, it's a 4-5 lakh rupees' car). Only thing I can say is it does not matter whatever I pack in, there is always a placeholder for things. Bottles, Coke Cans, Papers, Documents, Packed food, Various small things that a women carry with her on a trip, and lot more everything has a place to keep in. It's too many pockets smartly designed in a small vehicle, so that you neither feel cramped nor feel uneasy reaching for things.

      Space: Let me talk about the driver's seat first. It can be moved back anf forth according to your need. I am around 5 ft 7+ inch tall, and my wife is just below 5 ft. Both of us feel comfortable. Can't tell what a 6 ft guy have to say, but all I can state is that, if the seat is at the farthest point from the steering, I have to literally struggle to reach the pedals, and the person sitting behind me has nothing to complain. So that explains it all.

      Comfort: I have never been in the rear seat, so won't be able to tell much about it. But while on a long drive (read 300+ km), my wife can change diapers of my 3 month old baby while the baby is lying on the back seat, and keep he stays lying on the seat happily while I am cruising at around 100 kmph. My mom and dad have grown old. According to them, the rear seat is very comfortable. They say that they don't face any difficulty while moving in/out of the vehicle (i.e, they don't need to crawl to get in/out fo the car), the seat height is properly chosen by GM engineers. It comes with fabric seat covers, so you would not want to lessen the beauty of the interior by putting extra seat cover on those.

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Nothing to complain about the engine. You can slow down to <20 kmph near a speed breaker, while the car is at 5th gear, and still manage to recover the normal speed without shifting the gear (Saves fuel). Pick-up in low speed and appropriate gear is awesome. All you hahe to do is maintain the rmp within 1200-2200 to get a nice driving experince. Say you are in 3rd gear and have a speed of 25kmph, look at he rmp meter, if it is nearing 1800-2000, you better shift up to next gear , i.e, 4th gear. If you can maintain this throughout your drive, you are ought to have good fuel economy. Never ever go beyond 2500 in a new car or you will kill the engine.

      In the first month I was getting around 7-9 kmpl, and was super unhappy with the mileage. After 1000 km it was around 11kmpl. Now that I have completed 3000 km, in peak city traffic I get around 12-13 kmpl and on highway it's amazing 16-18 kmpl. Not to talk about the speed on road. It can easily overtake almost 90% of the vehicles on a freeway. Heard about Swift being really swift? Try this one. It's like a small bombshell. You would not expect what you get in terms of pick-up.

      Talking about gearbox, it';s not very smooth. Biggest problem is with engaging the reverse gear. You should be absolute dead stop before engaging the reverse gear, and that too does not engage properly 7/10 times. I was annoyed in the begginning with this issue, but now have become accustommed with the car. I know exactly how to do it so that it's a hit. Sometimes, if you cannot engage it after several tries, just roll the vehicle an inch forward, stop and engage the reverse gear. It is definitely going to work. You will get the clicky feeling on your left palm telling you that the gear is in position. Apart from this, I believe the overall gearbox transmission should be cleaner and smoother. The gear shaft literally travels a considerable distance from 1st to 5th.

      Brake pedal is booster assisted. It's good other than the case that sometimes you will find the pedal is not accepting the pressure from your leg and car is not actually braking as much as you expect. That means you will feel like it's stuck. Actually the voltage across the brake booster is not enough. Don't panic, all you need to do is press the clutch and then press the brake, it will be smooth as butter. It took a while for me to understand the mechanism.

      Ride Quality & Handling No complains. Very smooth and stable vehicle. I already talked about it. About handling, it has a sharp and crisp response to the driver's actions. Smaller size makes it easy to squeeze through traffic and get through sharp corners.

      Final Words Just go for it.

      Areas of improvement Everybody talks about bad service. I have no issues so far. I would recommend quality improvement in the metal and paint of the vehicle. Other than these I think it a great VFM.
