HOPE IT WILL IMPROVE AFTER IST SERVICE. Ride Quality & Handling AWESOME, stable ride, smooth handling. Basicially i've two cars --- Wagon r and Maruti 800 AC.But after test dive of Beat and comparing it with the other two in regard of mileage , spare parts, Monthly maintainenance i bought Beat LS.
Final Words GOOD PACKAGE, Chevrolet should bring good cars other than spark, beat and cruze in Indian Market.Company should work on the exteriors of spark.

atlast i found a perfect city hatch for me and my family in the chevy beat .
price - in my budget for my first car .
Styling - suits my personality .
features - whats required in a hatchback to drive effortlessly in city .
space - enough for 4 people and some luggage .
power - 1.2 ltrs DOHC , more than enough to win against the altos , santros and indicas around .even the i10 and ritz if you have the racing dna.
quality - finsihing and interiors much better than we have seen in india yet .
test drive - has test driven the car and it has a comfortable and sedanlike drive and interior feel . AC good , music system is not a blaupunkt but can always upgrade it . tyres little lousy in size but 14 inch wheels give you a option to upgrade to a good size .
fuel economy - promised is around 18kmph but we can get 14-15 in the clutch/brake city drive
considering the above factors , i have booked a chevy beat LS version and would recommend to first time buyers who are looking for a quality city hatch at a excellent cost of ownership.

Exterior: the look of the car is very catchy n any youngster who has driven a swift would opt for this car.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort): interiors are comparable to ritz n i10 but feels a bit cogusted for 3 medium adults at d rear. there are no innovative features compared to other cars except for d sppedo console which is been inspired by superbikes. only one lamp is provided in the front which is very dull , it cant throw light till d rear. the seats are quiote comfortable to travel long journeys.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox:performance is really good untill the ac is switched on, once the ac is on engine becomes very sluggish till it crosses 2500 rpm,after that it performs pretty well. m assured that it'll deliver 14kmpl in city n 18 kmpl in highways till d first service is done, gotta wait untill den but acc to arai certificate 18.6 kmpl on an avg is indeed a very good milage for such a car. regarding gear box d first 4 gears are good to slot in but wen i try to put d 5th gear it pulls itself into d slot n on the other hand wen puttin revrse gear it doesn engage properly, i'll have to put it twice . dunno whether its a problem or not!
Ride Quality & Handling: ride quality is jus awesome that the very sound of the engine when you revv it pushes you to beat everyone on the street, handling is also good compared to any other car in its leaghue though i dont mention it is outstanding.
Final Words: i wud suggest any youngster to go for dis car as its very compact in design n is a spirited performer. a perfect urban youth car!

could provide a remote lock n some storage spaces in d rear doors. the plastic used inside doesn seem very elegant even if it is of good quality.

1200 CC noise less engine enough for city and highways as well. I am getting fuel economy average of about 17/18 KM /Litre. Soft gear shift helps in driving with ease. modern speedo meter and techo meter is icing on cake.

Ride quality is excellent/Handling is also good. Very good ground clearance. I love that back door handle.
Final Words
In short indian consumer needs to come out of fixated thinking of brand loyalty to Maruti etc. Enjoy the new designed vehicle at very very competitive price. The beat price is quite cheap compared to Ritz/I-10 or say Swift. Why go for old designs when you can get the new at lesser price ? MUch better than 990 CC A-Star/Estoillo/Maruti-R.

Well I was looking for a Car with a Max budget of 4.5L OTR in Hyderabad, Looked at Spark,WagonR,i10 (ERA) ,Beat and Ford Figo. The Maruti cars had very low quality interiors and i10 was very expensive for the features it gave. The VFM cars left were from GM and Ford stable. Pickeup the Beat for its much better FE.
Exterior The Car looks very good and has a sport look.
Interrior Very Spacious and practicle car this. The Interior of the Car is very very good.5 people can sit comfortably in the Car.The Legroom in front and rear are very good. The Plastic quality and finish is of very good quality.This has been one of the very important reasons for me buying the car. The Low seating position coupled with no height adjustment is a little dampener though.This doesnt cause any visiblity problem (to anyone who is above 5'2").However due to low seating position,your knee level becomes higher than your hip,causing pain while traveling long distance.
The AC is pretty good if not great. The rear seat to me and my family doesnt at all feels claustrophobic.
Ride The Best thing about this car is the steering.Such a wonderfull responsive engine it is.Beautiful is the word.It helps so much in city B2B traffic and easy to maneuver.
Engine is little bit noisy,but i like it (than the silent ones).It gives that sport car feel.
The Mileage i am getting is min 15 Kmpl with normal petrol. The Car handles the potholes well without any noise. The Shock absorbers do a very good job.
Engine The Pickup is good.Sometimes u do feel the lag in 3rd gear,but once u are used to it,its not a big problem at ell.
Practicality Even though Boot space is not at par with peers,the 60:40 rear seat split more than makes for it.The Ample space and cup holders and well thought coin holders etc makes it very very practical.
Overall I would give 9/10 for the car.

Exterior is really sueprb, specially the 2-door feel that it gives you by hiding the rear door handle up the window.The LS model doesn't provide body-coloured OVRMs, but its still excellent.

The first and foremost thing I would like to say about interiors is that there is a heaven and hell difference between the LS and LT model's dashboard. The LT has a b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l- dashboard that consists of the audio system and A/C controls which glows brilliantly and let me tell you friends, that is definitely, definitely worth going for LT instead of LS.But, but, but.....along with that superbly designed glowy interiror comes a p-a-t-h-e-t-i-c audio system that sinply sucks. And the worst part is, its not optional. If u buy LT, you HAVE to take the audio syatem home. Otherwise, the glowy show of the dashboard is gone.
A/C is fine, and interiors are also spacy, though not very spacy.The sporty speedometer and digital RPM and FUEL indiactor are one of the main attractions of this car that gives it a superb sporty look.

Very, Very Important: This car has an odd rumming sound in its engine. I enquired repeatedly to the showroom guys, and also asked one of my friends who is in a senior position in Chevrolet Manufacturing deptt, and all of them told me that the sound has ben deliberately introduced in the car to give it a sports car feel. So for people who like a quiet car, this car is a strict no-no. On the other hand, if the engine sound pumps your adrenaline, then this car IS FOR YOU.
Fuel economy is around 11-12, which is decent and gearbox is a little stiff, particularly the 5th gear, which is a real pain to find.
Ride Quality & Handling
Car is super smooth, can't sense ignition is on from inisde when its not moving. Pick up is ok, though not a dream, and handling is fine. All in all 6/10 in handling.
Final Words
This car caters to a very specific class of people who are fond of sports car and/or is tired of Maruti's and Hyundai's. Its a good buy but not meant to be kept for 7-8 years. Enjoy it for 2-3 years, sell it off.

Exterior Good, rear door handle quite stylish, ground clearance should be improved for Indian roads particularly. tyres are small for this category however wheel covers are quite good.

Space- very crowded for a family of more than 4 adults, interiors are grey- black-litlle bit boring kind, ups- lots of spaces for storage, google,cell phone , bottle holders, cupholder e.t.c.

Power- average city conditions averg around 12- 13 km/l highways 15 km/l only, fuel efficeincy- very poor, gear box- quite smooth, cluthes are quite smooth as well, overall engine handling is quite good.
Ride Quality & Handling Good, shock absorbers are quite efficient, power steering is not that smooth, needs improvement, otherwise decent handling for city driving

Final Words Writing this review 45 days post- delivery and after driving for 1000 kms. I have the Chevrolet Beat base model with power steering and A/C (both are basic – no models without those features).
Background My wife and I bought the Beat after a lot of evaluation of cars in the hatchback and entry level sedans.
The criteria a fuel efficient car that can comfortably seat 5.
The Drive I usually drive in the city to commute to office and back in Mumbai - daily 45 kms, 30 kms freeway and the rest in traffic. I drive with a combination of air conditioning off and on depending on the time of the day. I don’t race beyond 80 kmph and prefer to drive at 65 even on the highways.
I got an average of 12.6 kmpl after initial check up and first servicing. I am expecting this to improve over time. I don’t want to comment on the looks and upholstery of the car as that is purely a matter of personal choice. To summarize the positives and negatives.
