I purchased a Tata Zest petrol variant in 2016, my car from Day 1 has been a disaster.
My Tata Zest is currently just a waste of space lying at my Garage unused. The car stuggles to keep up with the mileage *7-8 Kms per litre.
The car had always struggled in bumper to bumper traffic from day one as it stutters and stops in 1st gear. All this while I was being convinced by the service center (concerede Uppal), that it is a known issue with all Tata petrol variant, as of now the car has covered 17000 kms and the issues were nerver sorted mainly because the technicians are not capable enough or just lazy to find fault with the vehicle.
The battery broke down within 2 years and was forced to purchase a new one. Apart from this the car has overheating issues, idle hunting and noisy engine.
The car never had a smooth idle, till date it stutters/jerks in idle and idle hunting starts under load with headlights dimming along when the rpms fluctuating.
The service center neven bothered to clean the spark plugs or take look at the ignition or the fuel line each time we went out to them with a complaint they tried convinicing us saying they are always avaialble in case something should go wrong. All that was done to the car was just ECU resets, after which the car feels better just for a few days.
Now that I was pissed off by the pathetic service, had to try out a third party authorised service center that thorougly checked my car and suggested that I try and change the clutch plates as the pressure plate was found to be defective(manufacturing defect) and since this would not be covered under warranty. The car also had ignition coil leakage issues. Even now after spending 2000/- for car servicing apart from general servicing from concerde(costed me around 4000/-) dont know for what reasons. I still can gaurantee they just may have changed the coolant and nothing else.
Free service just for the sake of it. On the day of purchase itself the paint work on the car was marred by the so called teflon coating which was nothing but a low quality wax applied using a broken rotor that developed swirls all over the car.
When discussed with the service center, the service engineer laughed stating who looks at the swirls these days, later on had to get that fixed at 3m auto shop.

Final Words Have always been a fan of the Make in India but after such a pathetic experience I'm forced to look out for other brands.
