Exterior-Apart from the hunched back the exteriors of the Tata Zest are best in the semi-sedan segment and I am saying this after I had a good look of all the other cars(Amaze,Xcent,Dzire) carefully and finally bought the Zest

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)-Tata Zest provides the best features in the segment at a very affordable price.I am talking abou Harman Connectnext Touch Sound System,8 speakers(that have a very decent performance),parking sensors,Automatic climate control and what not.The features were one of the reason I bought the Zest.I think TATA focused too much on features and pricing and lacked in comfort, especially the driver comfort. The driver and the front passenger seats are too short in length and I am talking this from the prospective of a guy with an avereage height(i am 5'8).Their is absolutely no Thigh support in the front seats that make driving for long hours tedious and utterly uncomfortable.Even the size of the clutch pedal is too small and there is not enough space between the three pedals which makes driving even more uncomfortable.Talking about space i'd like to mention that there is no space for bottles on the doors.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox-The engine performance is not as good as advertised. The highly publicized Revotron engine is no better than your average engine. The performance in Hilly areas is even worse and it requires a lot of acceleration. The fuel economy is the area where i am most diappointed. The zest gives a mere average of 10kmpl in city and 13knpl in hilly areas. The gearbox vibrates a lot and the engine is quite noisy(even the petrol engine) and heats up very quickly.

    Ride Quality & Handling

The ride quality is good, although there is a blind spot on the right side which make right turns onerous.Handling is average.

    Final Words

After evaluating all the pros and cons and experiencing everything for myself(I do own a Tata Zest),I will not suggest people to buy Tata Zest.Though it has really great features and the pricing policy of Tata is very lucrative, yet I would advice people to evaluate other option(Amaze preferably).

    Areas of improvement

Engine Performace,Looks(from behind),Fuel economy,Seat comfort,Engine Noise reduction,Misc. Space like for botlles on the door.

Good music system,Good ground clearance,Good Rear Passenger Seat.Bad mileage,Bad engine performance,Bad Driver seat,
