This is my first car.  I'm using this car from October'2014.  I learned driving on this car, and drove 5500+ KM by now.

Exterior Excellent design.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Superior, I can't ask more space than this.  Excellent Infotainment system by Harman.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox I like the performance of the engine in long rides, but somehow I feel the pickup is little bit low.  I'm getting around 13 KM/litre mileage in City.  Getting 14-15 in long drives.  Even on bumpy roads, you feel verry comfortable.  Gear box should have been more smoother.

Ride Quality & Handling One word, awesome, you can't expect more than this from a car with this price range

Final Words You shouldn't expect more than what TATA is giving for this price range.  They put a lot of effort for the interiors, and it is worth to have it.  Infotainment system is very very good.

Areas of improvement Gear box should have been more smoother.  They have to improve a lot in after sales service, most of the technicians seems doesn't have the knowledge of this new engine.

Exterior Best exteriors, projector headlamps, clear waistline, broad tyres, and smiling face attracts you.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Very spacious, after sitting in zest, you will feel claustraphobic in any Maruti car (except wagon R).

1. Most important feature is the multi mode central console with distance to empty, instant efficiency, two trip indicators

2. Driving modes makes you life easy. I love driving mode. I mainly drive in eco mode. Once you reached the 1700 RPM, TURBO shows its power and you can easly zoom past any one.

3. AC is powerfull. Harman Kardon's music is class apart. Only who has listen to it can understand the quality.

4. Seats are very comfortable. 4 people can accomodate at rear

5. Clutch is light gears get smoother. breaks are good

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

1. Revotron is a very powerfull. I have to switch to eco mode if driving in the city. maximum torque is 140 NM which has a very large range of 1700 to 3000 RPM. It helps in any road, inclined etc.

2. It is a car for long drive. On long distance fuel economy is 19+, city drive can go low to 11 

3. Gear knob is premium.

Ride Quality & Handling Heavy car makes it planted on rad at high speed. Saftey fetaures such as airbags, ABS, CSC, door intrusion beam and iron bars behind the rear seat makes it a tough vehicle. Steering is butter smooth thanks to ePas, CSC helps in high speed turns

Final Words I wanted a strong and sturdy car within budget, My friend who is a Territory Sales manager (with Mahindra) recommended me this vehicle and I am thonkfull to him

He told me one thing to check the strength of the vehicle open the bonnet of the car and hold it in your hand. I did it. Zest's bonnet was 2 times heavier than Dzire, Xcent, Grand i10.

Cheapest in the segment.. Descent ride quality Looks are not so much appealing. Performance is really nice. lags are there on the high speeds...in mid-range, it's really good.. Service is satisfactory... some delays are there...but it must be the issue for every company.. It has some issues when one service is skipped....It doesn't get accelerated....and rolls at a minimum speed of about 20-30 km... that's a very disappointing thing..

First a fall brand is Tata and I am always Tata lover so my first choice a Tata car. Driving experience cost average comfortable is most valuable 100% brake, pickup and all over controlling Look is very beautiful a white color and performance is very smooth and driving seat is very comfortable. I suggest a the car maintenance is very important depend a your long driving and handling and change the regularly oil after so the always best car.

Cons: Parts are not available in navi Mumbai service centre... mileage is very poor.. I was drive very light foot and MID average showing 11km... build quality is good... but after 5 years rusting start... pros. ride quality is superb... very stable car.. very spacious car... feel premium.

Exterior I like the exterior look of the car.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Spacious interior but the quality of plastic used is bad.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Good riding comfort from 3 gear position, 1 st gear to second gear movement takes more time.

Ride Quality & Handling Very comfortable. With reservation to Semi Auto Concept, beccause in bumber to bumber trafic you have to burn extra fuel to keep the car in poition. Not suitable for ladies at all.

Final Words Tata Should not have spoiled this good desighn with semi auto gear system.

Areas of improvement Driving seat should have been made optional with that of XT for XMA model buy paying a few Rs Extra.

Same with Entertainment arrangement. Tata has under estimated a customer going for Automatic option. But I like the car it is really good. If improved and taken more care it will make a hit in the market. The mud entering the engine room from the front tyres is really a matter of concern and to be fixed if not it can cause many problems in the future.

Exterior

Exterior design is really good and makes people turn around and look at the car. The projector head lamps, honey comb grill, chrome lining on the doors, led tail lamps and 18 spoke alloy wheels add premium look to the zest. Overall it is a very good design

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

Front seats with rugby shoulder design is very comfortable. XMS model comes with height adjustable driver seat and air bags. The rear seats is spacious and three people could be accomodated easily and it has good knee room as well as head room. The dual tone dash board design and speedometer dial gives you a feel of a european spec car. The music system is good with 8 speakers. I havent tried the connect next system with mobile yet

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

 The 1.3 MJET 89 BHP diesel engine is well tuned to drive in the traffic with minimum gear changes. The drive by wire technology gives good throttle response. The Mid range repsone of the engine is also good though i have not tested at higher rev band of the engine. The AC is effective and good. Gear changes are good though not the very best . I have done only few hundred kms and got an 15 - 16 kmpl in the city with AC On

Ride Quality & Handling

The ride is very good and plush and soaks all the pot holes in the road. The engine noise and road noise is very minimal with all the windows closed.The small steering is easy to hold and maneuver and gives you enough feedback. The 15 inch wheels make good grip with the road and it is stable

Final Words

 Tata zest is good value for money car given its fresh exterior styling, good interior space, good ride/handling and performance compared with the Competition with likes of maruti, honda and hyundai. The mid spec XMS diesel is well equipped with 9Th GEN ABS, Ally wheels, air bags, good connect next and music system for which one have spend an aditional 80,000 to 95,000 INR with same sepcs in the competiton. The quality / fit and finish has also seen a very big imporvement in the Tata Zest.

Overall I would recommend to go for the Tata Zest

Areas of improvement  

 Haven't received the accessories which i have paid for in the dealership. They are saying its imported & may take 2 weeks more.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      .

Exterior EXTERIOR LOOKS GREAT, LOOKS MORE MUSCULAR THAN ANY OTHER CAR.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) INTERIORS ARE EXCELLENT AND FINISHING OF MATERIAL IS SUPERB.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox ENGINE PICKUP IS VERY GOOD, FUEL AVG TILL DATE IN MY CAR IS 9 KMPL, I HAVE DRIVEN FOR 600 KMS.

Ride Quality & Handling WHENEVER I PRESS THE CLUTCH ENGINES USE TO STOP, BUT NOW THIS DOEST HAPPENS, BUT IN THE FIRST WEEK I FACED THIS PROBLEM.

RIDING IS THE BEST PART OF THIS CAR, ITS ECO MODE IS REALLY VERY GOOD FOR PEOPLE IN CITY WITH HEAVY TRAFFIC CONDITION WILL FEEL IT VERY COMFORTABLE, U DONT NEED TO PRESS CLUTCH AGAIN & AGAIN, U CAN SMOOTHLY DRIVE IN 2ND GEAR AT A VERY LOW SPEED, SECONDLY ITS SPORT MODE, JUST ADDS LIFE TO THE PICKUP AND POWER, GO DHOOMMM.

Final Words EXCELLENT CAR IN THIS PRICE.

Areas of improvement WATER BOTTLE HOLDER IN THE CAR IS MISSING, AND FUEL AVG NEEDS TO BE IMPROVED. AGAIN LET ME DRIVE FOR MORE THAN 1500 KMS, I WILL GIVE MY REVIEW AGAIN.
