Exterior Great looks. that's the best part of this vehicle. Imposing, commanding, it announces your arrival. Heads turn, people stop and ask. If you like attention, you'll get loads of it in the Xenon. I still stare at it sometimes myself, after owning it for one year.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Typically Tata.. read tacky plastics, finish. Could be much much better for the price. Space in the front is good, but the back seat is too upright and legspace is not the best. The back seat folds partly for nothing at all.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Great engine, fantastic pick up for such a monstrous truck. I regularly beat petrol cars at the traffic lights. Fuel economy is acceptable. 11 on the highway w/ ac. I used to ahve a Skoda, so anything else is a fuel guzzler. Gearbox. was really hard at the start. Much better now. But it's still a bit rubbery and is definitely not the best. Also u need to change gears often. The 4 WD is great. on the fly so I don't need to stop. I do a bit of offroading at work and I'm glad it works like a charm.

Ride Quality & Handling Poor, but I guess that's because of the rear leaf springs. That said, i used to drive Ford and Toyota pick up trucks in Australia, and they rode much smoother. Can we expect international quality in our Indian cars as yet? Or am I being fussy? The handling is quite good, though THE TYRES ARE WEARING OUT AT 30k KMS, despite getting them checked every 5K kms.

Final Words Overall, it really depends on your usage. For me it works because I do a lot of highway driving, carry stuff around, do offroading, and I have a second city car. Not practical if u want to use it in the city, and if you're not going to use the tray and still want to buy it, you need to get a life.

Areas of improvement Hmm... where do I start. Firstly Tata needs to improve the overall quality of its vehicles. I have been to the service centre numerous times for small niggling issues. This never happens with my marutis. Second, Tata NEEDS to improve its interiors trim if it wants to be considered a par with foreign brands. Third, the suspension can be improved. And fourth, THE PRICE IS RIDICULOUSLY HIGH. I bought a display vehicle at a cheaper rate, but there was no way I would pay 10 lacs for a pick up truck.

Engine, 4WD, tray, looks, reliabilityPoor interior finish, detailing, niggling problems, bulky for city
