Exterior Believe it or not, the moment you see this car, it catches your attention. Tata has worked out best possible skills to design and execute a perfect stylish Sedan. Front Lights are catchy. Curved design on the rear side is extra ordinary. Boot is quite spacious. Front appearance is very attractive, and if you compare this car with all its counter-segments, this car stands tall. Overall, my review will be - 9/10 for its Exterior.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Tata has done an extra ordinary job in interiors. It has extremely beautiful interiors, very comfortable seats, and spacious leg space and very large boot. I may give 10/10 for its music system. Sound is extra ordinary. I didn't find any comparable music system in any other car in similar segment. Doors are superb, but the door lock is still old style. So For doors, I will give 7/10. Dashboard is spacious, attractive and designed with lot of iterations. Steering Wheel is compact. Front side seat is adjustable with height, so it fits well for a wide range of tall and short fellows. While, I liked almost everything on the dashboard, I didn't like the dashboard odometer and other indicators position. Somewhere the location of odometer etc. gets hidden behind the sterring wheel, and it is not up to the mark even for the driver. So Dashboard must be given 6/10. Seats, whether front side or backside - deserves 9/10. Driving is very comfortable, and can be given 9/10 with respect to cofort.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is smooth, and is well-proven for Tiago as well. If you are not very passionate for extremely high-speed and are OK with < 80 km/hr, its the best. The automatic variant provides best mileage at a speed of about 50 km/hr. Gear transition is flawless. Claimed fuel economy is about 21 km/l, but I guess, we can expect somewhere near to 15 or 16. So here, my remarks are 8/10.
Ride Quality & Handling Both Ride Quality and Handling is up to the mark. For long rides as well as city commuting, this car makes a remarkable impact. Probably, 8/10.
Final Words Prior to finalizing TATA Tigor XTA, I did an exhaustive survey of all other cars and short-listed - (1) TATA Tiago (2) Maruti Ignis (3) Honda Amaze (4) Ford Freestyle (5) Mahindra KUV 100 NXT (6) Maruti WagonR (7) Ford Figo Asipre.....It was very easy for me to zero down to TIGOR because: (1) Its premium looks; (2) Value for Money. You won't get any other premium automatic variant in this range; (3) Spacious leg room; (4) Comfortable Seats; (5) Largest Boot, and the list will go ON. Well, TATA TIGOR is a promising vehicle and comes for atleast 60 k to 1.2 L lesser than all other comparable cars. TATA has surely worked a lot to make a compact sedan in a premium segment and deserves Kudos. Overall marking 8.5/10
Areas of improvement TATA TIGOR XTA must have Air Bags at the same price. Though not too noisy, but AC sound need improvements. Front side Dashboard can be slightly improved for better visibility.
People say - TATA Servicing is not up to the mark. But I can't comment, as I am yet to get my car servied for the first time. OTHERWISE, A FANTASTIC CAR INDEED.
VALUE FOR MONEY. Stylish Look, Flawless Driving, Smooth Transactions of Gears and Music System.Music System is not Touch Screen. Side Window View is slightly narrow. AC is slightly noisy in Cabin
