My father bought it for me on my 18th birthday. The buying experience was smooth. I didn't have any problem. The staff was very friendly. For an example my dad decided to change the color of the car at night, and the staff was ready to help at that very moment. They handed over the car on the promised date with everything loaded. Now let's go in depth. Talking about looks the strong muscular creases right from the A pillar go all the way back and blend into the C pillar. The muscular front is very catchy. The headlamps are stylish are offer great visibility at night time. You can also adjust the headlight height for farther or shorter visibility. The car has been fun to drive since day 1. The electric steering wheel, parking assists and wide glass which gives an airy feel as well as broader vision are a boon. The seats are well cushioned and offer great comfort on long journeys. They are 6 way adjustable for you to find your exact position. The steering wheel is light in the city and gets perfectly heavy on high speeds. Well talking about high speeds, the stability is awesome. It is also customizable for rake. You can increase or decrease the height of the wheel as per your convenience.Also the suspensions do their job perfectly no minimum intrusions inside the cabin. Talking about the interiors the fit and finish is top notch with soft Plastic on the dashboard, some glossy areas such as side ac vents which are colored for top variant or black elsewise. The harmon kardonn system does wonders believe me. It can beat the shit out of any car in this segment. As it is TATA they can never go wrong about their air conditioners. AC is quite strong the the fan speed is more than adequate at speed level1 on the scale of 1-4. The key fob also has much more to offer with approach headlamps. Tata has been paying attention on the needs of customers with 22 utility spaces designed specifically for different types of things such as large dobins on the doors, cooled glove box, bottle holders, wallet holder and a special mention of the ticket holder on the windscreen. Infotainment system is a bit slow to react, nevermind though we don't have to focus on it as it's not a smartphone to compete with xD. Even though it's slow the system has a lot of built in customizations. You can adjust the bass, treble also the aux gain, approach headlamp timing, reverse sensor volume and a lot more. The brakes have firm bite and come into action as soon as you press them. ABS as an add on makes you feel safe behind the wheel. Servicing and maintenance is also affordable for a car with such great features. I feel there are no cons in this car expect the engine noise which is justified as this is a 3 cylinder engine we are talking about versus the conventional 4 cylinder. Also the noise is when you rev it harder above 3500 Rpm. This is the best car you can find in this segment. Believe me you'll not regret even denying baleno for this beauty as tiago is 100 times better than baleno in all aspects. Also note that this is a family friendly car and not particularly sporty. Tata takes care of that too with providing multi driving modes that is city and eco mode. The rear Smart wiper is really SMART. The defogger works flawlessly. GO FOR IT WITHOUT ANY QUESTION!! I would like to talk about the look and finish that the car has to offer, in terms of styling and concept Tiago surely feels different than the lot comparing in the Indian hatchback market. One look at the car and you will feel an urge to ride the vehicle only to be amazed by its engine and comfort later.

Tiago scores 10/10 according to me when it comes to the designing of the car from inside, features like theatrical dimming, damped glove box and rightly placed utility spaces make the time spent inside the car a little more worthwhile. The car comes packed with a superbly made Harman music info-tainment system which really has to offer a lot in terms of music playback quality and also phone usage features. The AC is great and works efficiently.

Well if my driving on road experience has to be counted in then you may term me as a noobie or a complete beginner in that case, with just a year and a half. What I have experienced in such a short span of time is that a car needs to offer a smooth engine and soft gear changing patterns, well after test driving the Tiago XZ petrol variant I was in a sudden state of awe. The cabin offered in this car is silent when the car is running and no type of engine noise come inside, I own the xz petrol (revotron) Tiago.

Tiago has excellent riding experience and the suspension both front and rear are bang spot on. The comfortable seats and ajustable driving and teering positions make this car more user friendly than the other cars offered in this segment.

The car has atleast a hundred different features and specifications altogether if all interior and exterior features are summed up, still the most interesting part about the vehicle has to be the aggressiveness with which it has been priced in the car market, starting  from just 3.2 L (ESR).
I have been an owner for just three days now, but what I can tell you car enthusiast fellows is that if you are looking for true value for money and a vehicle which comes with a sense of uniqueness and a proud owner experience then you should take the leap of faith and go wih TATA motors this time.

This car neatly sweeps down its rivals with one stroke and that is great, although immense work has been done by Tata in giving out their best(yet) all I can  complain about is the little vibration that comes out when it is started and then everything just settles down perfectly and you feel to revv hard the engine and let go of all your worries. Exterior Amazing looks for the segment. I loved ford figo, but because of few strong negative reviews, went for Tiago. and I am so glad about it. Styling is so good for this segment as well as above one.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Superior quality than the cheap Maruti. You could feel it. Tata has put its heart in this car. Everything is thought about with absolutely no compromise on quality.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Have been driving for just a month. No issues with the power. Economy will be effective after first service. The number is still climbing up for me.

Ride Quality & Handling No issues whatsoever. Ride quality is also good.

Final Words I am glad to have gone for Tiago than the over expensive Swift or Baleno. Considering the quality, Tiago should have been over the other two. Go for it if you are looking for day to day city commute. you wont be disappointed.

Areas of improvement A 4 cylinder engine would have completed the package.

Excellent interiors & Solid bulit quality in this segment compared to others. you can really feel that stability of the car while driving in city or at highways, car picks up very well even at low rpms so no need to downshift.

 Spacious interiors, classy cabin, stylish seats are very much comfortable even for pepole above 6ft

 i am  6.3 ft tall can drive this car comfortably & the person around 5.11 can seat behind my

driving seat with ease.

Final Words

If you have budget about 6 lacs & looking forward to buy nice hatch with solid built quality then Tata Tiago XZ is an answer.

 Good Interior but AC fan noise is untolerable. Five passengers can be accomodated. Suspension is good, small potholes are easily taken care off.

Most underpowered Engine which sounds like truck when 4 passengers sitting. I had visited mahabaleshwar and Uphill driving was a nightmare. The car just doesnt climb easlily. I had to constantly change gears and press accelarator constantly. You have to constantly press the accelator while driving else the car behind will start honking on you. Fuel economy on highways is 16kmpl and for city its 12kmpl.Even tata Indica can beat this Car in racing. Gearbox is smooth I will give 100 marks for it. I have driven 7000kms and planning to sell this vehicle asap.

Ride Quality & Handling

 Car is tooo heavy. So no body role. You feel safe in it

 Buy any other car but dont buy Tata Tiago Petrol

 Put some power in engine its most sluggish engine I have seen in my 20 yrs of driving Life

 

LooksEngine is powerless, engine Noise, Poor Brakes.

Exterior Definitely the best in it's class. Quite similar to Grand i10. Still the hexagonal front grill and head lamps enhance the looks.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Again for a car at this price range you cannot get more comfort than this. I am a hefty guy. 175 cms tall and 85 kg heavy. I can sit comfortably anywhere in the car. Driving is comfortable. Even a grand i10 owner admits that power steering is better in Tiago. Though AC cools the cabin very well it doesn't have rear vents. Hence when it is hot outside (around 35 degree even) and your vehicle is parked in sunglight for half an hour AC is unable to cool the cabin. If you have covered car parking well and good. Music system is un matched as everyone knows. Long drives are exciting in this car. 

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Typical 1.2 litres engine. Other than being slightly noisy (even petrol) no performance issue because of 3 cylinder engine. Gear box could have been placed near to steerting i.e. right below the music system (similar to i10) so that the co-driver can sit comfortably. It is slightly difficult if the co-driver is having a mischievous child.

On highways if you drive at an average speed of 90 it gives you 20 KMPL and if you drive at 120+ it gives you 17-18 KMPL. In bumper to bumper city traffic you may expect around 10 KMPL and in sub urban rides you can expect around 13 KMPL for sure. 'Distance to empty' is not so dependable. So please go by fuel level indicator.

Ride Quality & Handling I would really love to drive this car even in city. Features like reverse parking sensors are very useful for new drivers. Steering is a delight to turn. You can handle it with just one hand.

Final Words If it is your first car and if you are oscillating between Celerio/Grand i10/ Tiago simply go for top end of Tiago Revotron XZ (or XZA)- Petrol. I dont have any idea about Diesel. Tata gives EVERYTHING for the money you pay.

Areas of improvement

1. Tata Authorized Service centers and NOT widespread. Of course people say that you can get Tata cars serviced anywhere however when the car is new the owners would not want to take a chance. I live next to Chennai still I have to travel around 20 KMS for a service center. After Chennai Chrompet the next authorised service center is said to be in Tindivanam which is more than 100 KMS from Chrompet! So certainly it needs to be improved.

2. Gearbox placement - could have been placed just below the music system (similar to i10)

3. ORVM -  The adjustment can be made from inside however we have to manually open the ORVM. It is not autmatically opening or closing when the engine is turned on or turned off.

Of course the fascinating looks for under 6 lakhs segmentNo automatic open for ORVM even in top end

I had bought a Tata Tiago XZ in Jul 2016 because the design and the features were attractive. However, the vehicle has been fraught with problems immediately after purchase.

Three months after delivery of the vehicle the fuel pump broke down, which was replaced by the company, however, the dealership at Visakhapatnam took one week to get the spare from Pune, during which I had to bear the inconvenience of using a Taxi. That was not the end, six months down the line the clutch wire broke and I was stuck roadside, the company did fix it again and informed us that these are teething issues with a new launch.

Now exactly after two years the battery has broken down and had to be replaced. The warranty provided by TATA is 18/21 months and therefore I had to spend Rs 6100/- for change of battery. Interestingly, the authorized service centre is replacing TATA batteries with Amaron batteries with a 2+2 year warranty, which suggests that TATA themselves aren't sure of their own product (Average battery life as per Exide website is 5 years).

During the last two years the vehicle had to be sent to the workshop SIX TIMES. i.e. thrice for repairs and thrice for regular servicing. Despite being so regular with maintenance and driving very carefully within the city/ single handed, the performance has been very poor. Small parts like the door lock knob, the cabin light overhead switch is of poor quality and keep malfunctioning. I have owened other Indian and foreign branded cars like Mahindra, Hyundai, Honda and Maruti which have been much more reliable.

I would not recommend this vehicle to my friends and family and to you as well. Except for the music system, the rest of the car is substandard. TATA should not attempt  manufacturing passenger vehicles if they plan to have poor quality standards.

MUSIC SYSTEMNOT RELIABLE, VERY FREQUENT BREAKDOWNS

I am a proud owner of Tata Tiago XZ and very happy with my decission of chosing it over Kwid especially the pricing is almost same with +/-50K and we get very good build quality in Tiago compared to Kwid which suffers from cost cutting and poor build. I have driven car now for 2,500KM with absolutely no issues everything in the car is really good and of superior quality. It's the best value for money car :)

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox When on AC the performance drops that's the only downside other than that all is good; Fuel Economy could be improved as on an avg I get 16 to 17 KMPL.

 SUPERB.WHILE DRIVING THE FANTASTICO WE CAN FEEL THE DRIVING COMFORT OF A BIG LUXUARY CAR.THE BALENO HAS 83 bhp  @ 6000rpm BUT THE TIAGO HAS MORE POWER.IT HAS 85 bhp @ 6000 rpm..THE ENGINE POWER  IS THE BEST IN CLASS.I AM HAVING  A GOOD CONTROL WHILE DRIVING THE TIAGO. I AM ALSO OWNING A HYUNDAI GRAND I10.BUT THE TIAGO IS BETTER WHEN COMPARED TO THE GRAND I10.

Ride Quality & Handling AN EXCELEENT DRIVING COMFORT IS GRANTED BY THE TIAGO.EVERY DRIVE OIF THE TIAGO GIVES A FEELING OF DRIVING A LUXUARY CAR.
