Driving experience is not that much. Gearbox needed to be better. The exterior shows poor workmanship. Missing little convenience in comfort when compared to Hyundai.

1.) Buying experience of this car is good because the new safari is attractive, plush and well equipped, and with a genuinely useable third row is it makes a compelling case for itself. Sure, it is not a practical 4x4 as the original Safari was but see it as the three-row SUV for the family that it is, and you will find that Tata's new flagship scores where it matters. Safari is built on the same platform as the Harrier. This model of Safari comes at around 14.70 lakh and which is expensive than Harrier base model XE. 2.) Driving experience of this car is pretty same as the Harrier which comes around 170 ps of power with 2.0 litre, four cylinder diesel engine, and is offered with the same 6 speed manual and 6 speed automatic transmissions too. There is good power but in the case of the manual you have to contend with a heavy clutch that is not progressive enough and gears that need some effort to slot. The Safari's softer suspension setup means it rides well over bad roads and potholes. This diesel engine offers good drivability and a punchy mid-range. 3.) Looks and performance of this car is good because when talking about looks this car looks more mature than the Harrier it shares most of its basic design but the treatment of the C-pillar is quite different. There is large quarter-glass for the third row with an interesting design element buttressing it from the roof rails, down to the body panel. When we talking about performance, our quick timings runs did reveal the Safari, that's heavier by 75 kg, to be just as brisk as the Harrier. On the subject, Tata has beefed up the Safari's braking system to deal with the higher gross weight. The Harrier's rear drum brakes have made way for discs and resultantly the Safari does shed speed more effectively. It stays well poised at speed and brings with it a sense of solidity that's becoming a recurring theme on Tata's newer offerings. 4.) Servicing and Maintenance of this car is not expensive. First when we are talking about service ,1st service is on 2,000kms or 2 months, 2nd service is on 7,500kms or 6months, 3rd service is on 15,000 kms or 12 months. While paid service starts from 4th service at 22,500 kms or 18 months and then is service every 6 months. Total service cost for 1 to 5 years is around 8,500 to 14,000. Maintenance of this car is around Rs. 26,000 for manual transmission and for automatic transmission Rs. 30,000 for 5 year unlimited kms warranty. If you opt for 5 Year Gold AMC and 5 year unlimited kms warranty- expect peace of mind and ownership and protect you from inflationary factor in the later years. 5.) PROS and CONS PROS 1.) Extra 3rd row seats brings lots more practicality and utility. 2.) Classy spacious cabin with comfortable seats and a chilling air-con. 3.) Stunning looks and strong road presence. 4.) 168 BHP 2.0L diesel offers good drivability and a punchy mid-range. 5.) It includes safety features such as Dual Airbags, Hill Hold Control, Electronic Stability Program, Traction control, Roll Over Mitigation, Corner Stability Control, Brake Disc Wiping, ABS with EBD, Rear Parking Sensor, Parametric Alarm System as standard across all models. 6.) Extra features include boss mode, all wheel disc brakes, smart charger in 2nd and 3rd row, 3rd seats with 50:50 split, 3rd AC and AC vents, 2nd row seats reclining, roof rails over the base model of Harrier. 7.) Sound quality and bass are enjoyable. 8.) The iconic brand "Safari" is back! We agree with using the legendary nameplate for this car. CONS:- 1.) Heavy steering gets cumbersome at parking, and U-turns, and crawling speeds. 2.) Service visit every 6 months /7,500 km (12 months is the norm today) 3.) No petrol option (almost all competitors offer it). No AWD for enthusiasts either. 4.) By 2021 standards we' would expect wireless charging + front / 360 camera + ventilated seats. 5.) Clutch feels very heavy in bumper to bumper traffic in city driving conditions. 6.) Diesel engine does get loud above 3,500 rpm and its engine note is quite sad too. 7.) Tata's after-sales service quality is a hit or miss. Remains a gamble. 8.) 3rd row access is too difficult in the captain seats variant.

Road grip is fantastic, very comfortable and rear window view is excellent. TATA must work on 4x4 if it's there then it's fabulous. Low engine noise. Handling is very easy on any road.

Amazing car in this price. Tata Safari looks are very good, SUV type and features are almost decent, comfort is unknown because after driving it, then only I can tell about comfort, otherwise one of my favorite brand is Tata Motors. It gives a lot of wonderful cars.

The vehicle is very luxurious and driving is easy even with a hydraulic steering. Features are top notch. My only worry is Sun roof which I need to see over the time as haven't used it earlier.
