    DRIVING:
    Few thousand kilometers

I purchased the Tata Indigo Saffire Top end model for my own use and am now realising my mistake. I simply went by the advertisement/claims and the test drive to get carried away by the apparently good features for the price it offered. Partly the sales representative's skills also played a role in my decision.

Six months of use after purchase has seen six visits of the car back to workshop with serious quality problems. Just to highlight a few -

    1. The radiator fan gave a huge sound and with AC on - one could feel the vibrations in the steering - the fan was changed. Even now things are same. On a red light with AC on, people around you feel like telling you about the noise pollution it creates.

    2. The gear lever has been adjusted three times by the service guys - still gives a cracking sound when shifting gears. Luckily my driver does not feel bad about it and manages.

    3. Both the lighters are not working. They repair it one day - the next day - the lighters are off again.

    4. The reverse gear backlight is not working from day 1.

    5. The shockers/suspension gives a creaking sound like a truck when brakes are applied.

    6. The rear door lock lever is now not working and sending it again to workshop for repairs.

    7. The wheel caps are loose and have fallen twice.

    8.  The dashboard display goes off repeatedly.

Common response from the service guys - Sir, these are minor problems - happen with all cars - we will fix it. The car has only done 16000 KM and I have put it on carwale only for sale (even at a loss of 1.2 lakhs).

Committed the mistake of believing the Tata quality. Will never do that again. One should go to a workshop and service center of Tata motors to see your car as one among many taxis. The service center where I go to is always in a pool of water and they take you right through that to the workshop to explain the problems. Amazing!! I have been used to excellent service experience of Maruti and Hyundai.

My advise - please check for all quality issues before buying. I have even sent mails to the regional service head of Tata Motors - he has just forwarded the mail to the same service center and asked them to revert. There's no one to take care of you as a customer - pathetic to say the least.

Will be happy to explain more about my experiences.

Very decent leg room and InteriorsTata's Quality problems
