Bought Indigo CS GLS on 31/3/08 thereby saving some amount of money. Sporty looking sedan type vehicle at even less cost than a hatchback. This is the first time owning a TATA vehicle, earlier used to only Maruti vehicles. It is a real revelation how myths can really be shattered.
Maruti has brand value and as such deprives us of simple comforts like a driver side Outside Rear View Mirror adjustment from the inside without opening the glass windows. This car provides it on both sides, driver and co-passenger. This feature really helps when you are driving with A/c on and want to adjust the rear view mirror.
Front and back twin fog lamps are a good addition to this sedan. Similar segmented but premium priced cars like Mahindra Logan give only one lamp even for reverse.
In cabin improved lamp clusters for driver and all passengers is good, giving liberty to the occupants. TATA has digital clock as standard fitment, it sure adds some value which is not available in all the vehicles of the same pricing bracket.
Anti reflector rear view mirror inside the cabin is real useful in night time driving. We can avoid the high beam flashing cars following us and beaming headlights into our eyes by just flicking a knob on the mirror. Seats are comfortable and elegant. If you slip on a decent upholstry the car gives real neat and flashy look.
Had a deal with dealer under corporate scheme to fit central remote locking, and added retro fitted power windows. So the lacking luxury element was inducted in the vehicle. The cost is not much when compared with same segment cars offering similar comforts. (It actally costs a whopping 40-50k more if you go factory fitted power windows and keyless entry luxuries)
Coming to driving, it is smooth. Power steering offers good control. Independent wheel suspension is real good as the pothole on the left wheel does not feel on the right .
Mileage, in city conditions with a/c on (summer is scorching!!) is about 12kms / ltr. Quite reasonable for the look and size of the car. A/C is good and effective. Gear shifts are smooth and are flawless.
Here i wanna make a point. Recently i drove this vehicle from Mangalore to Chennai. About 12 hours out of the 15 hrs travel, vehicle was driven continuously. The car felt fabulous. The roads through Madikeri, Kushalnagar, Mysore, Bangalore to Chennai felt like butter as the car sails. The surprise element, i notched up 19kms average mileage on the entire stretch of approx 850 Kms. That i think is really great.
Power of the vehicle is a concern, but not that it keeps worrying you. Has a decent pickup. But, given the other compensations in styling and pricing, city drivers can very well forget about that and go ahead and indulge in the sedan luxury.
Thumbs Up for this little wonder package.

I have just bought an Indigo CS GLS , I find this vehical as good as any of the any other good cars available in the morning. before this car , I was driving Wagon R Vxi & compared to Wagon R , CS is not having that good Pick up , But it is having a decent pick up , good road stability ,Comfortable sitting position & very effective AC.
But the biggest disadvantage of the car is no central locking & power windows , I thiunk tata shd launch a GLX model with central locking & power windows .
Rear seats of the car is quite comfortable & interior of the car always keep shouting TATA TATA. I wish this car would have come with central locking , power windows & better interiors.
On hoghways it gives around 16-18 Km/l while in city 12-14 Km/l. which is quite a good performance in fuel economy as compare to other cars in the same category .
i very strongly recommend to buy this vehicle .
Great Price & new looks , A sedan in a price of Hatch backnot up to the mark interiors, Tata's lower exposure in petrol cars, No central locking/power windowsExterior/Styles

Bought the car in mid-march.Had almost finalised on accent before test driving the new indigo.Tata has reduced the steering size (for better manouverability). Good pickup-the engine is still MPFI. DOes not clock more that 140 easily -but thats decent enough on highways.Good suspensions.
Broad tyres (this is a pro compared to swift). THese give more stability at high speeds on curves or changing lanes.Interiors and inner lining of doors are OK.But when you drive you re not going to keep on looking at interiors. 20 litres from blr took me Kalpetta(wayanad) 328 kms to be precise. But am sure after service and tuning you would get more milage. Its basically the normal indigo - finetuned to give stiff competition in the small car segment(what more - you get a sedan).THe boot was spacious to carry children stuff (pram/stroller/bags).Boot would carry one large size -international travel suitcase and two big sky-bags and two small cabin baggages.
To top it up - Be Indian Buy India :)
Fuel economy,anti-sub seats - excellent for long drives, great road visibility, good control of the vecould not find any that stands outExterior/Styles

Overall a good car to buy and value for money. But lacks the basic feature of Power window. The sad part is you cannot install the power windows as the dealer says that the "Electrical Warranty" of the vehicle would lapse.
I am getting a fuel economy of approx 11 kmpl but this is the 1st month, so I am assuming that the fuel economy increases after the 1st Servicing.
Overall a good car, no issues faced till date.
Good Style and Excellent interiorsFuel Economy: Getting an avarage of approx 11 KMPL in City with 50% AC on.Exterior/Styles

I bought CS-GLS on 08.08.08
(i) Apperance : Except quality/finishing of Interiors (Fiber Used) exterior looks are simply superb..!
(ii) AC : Excellent
(iii) Comfort : I feel rear supensions are not so comfy especially on bad roads, 'coz of this whole car is slightly jumping but dealer said suspension will become soft on usage..!
(iv) Its really a family car of 4-5 members with good luggage space
My Weekend Trip Experience :
Last week I planned weekend trip with my family- me, my wife & my kid along with my parents to Kolhapur & Ratnagiri of 3 days trip, as we all love long drives during monsoons..(Yes its a risk during these season with family members) everything went very well & we are very happy with our new car..its performance on ghats is amazing..there are numerous narrow roads where its not for 4 wheelers plus we didnt even found any other 4 wheelers on these roads, but our car has truly made its own road without any hassels nor turning back..!
I really felt like we are all on some Jungle Expedition..yeah I'm not talking about our National & State Hiways..we went to remote & tribal areas to experience the beauty of nature during monsoons..there are ghats which makes one shiver..definetly not for Cars..but god was with us & our journey was terrific & memorable..yet we reached safely to our home, still we feel that how amazingly our new car supported with us..I feel no other car can beat this in performance on these dangerous tribal area ghats..!
I truly became fan of TATA Motors now..!
Exterior looks are superb..its a family car..!Low Quality Interiors, Finishing touches (Fiber, plastic materials used) at edges/nooks are not good

Exterior: exterior of Indigo Cs is undoubtedly good
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) the interiro is good, In fact these two features are the trap in which a customer is trapped for life. either you have to carry on the high maintainence bill or have to sell the car on heavy losses. Particularly in petrol variants TATAs are nowhere. I would not recommend any petrol variant of TATA. In deisel too the after sales service brings the people to tears.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox: all poor. Engine can give up any day once the vehicle is out of showroom. Never plan for future for changing vehicle in 2 or 3 years. TATA will not let you sleep in peace. It is the vehicle which may ditch you anywhere any day or night with no mechanic in sight to help you out. Even the tata service dealers are not capable tofind out the problem and rectify the same most of the times. Fuel economy : they themselves do not claim it to be very good. with frequent breakdowns you will not get time to check the fuel economy.
Gear box: May be requring an overhall within the first two years. totally depends on your luck. They are not even ashamed of the poor quality of maintainence their service dealers are providing, that too on high rates. Repeated complaints to customer care, dealer, local branch didnt provide you any releif. Even the local market mechanics are unable to fix the problems of TATA vehicles in particular the petrol variants. Even the chasis and petrol tank of my vehicle got rusted and gave way in the third year of careful use, with regular service at TATA only. This is a reflection of the quality of sheet they are using.
Ride Quality & Handling: With frequent breakedowns on and off the road, the ride quality is nowhere in the question. Handling depndes on how much can you afford on repairs from the very beginning. This is not Maruti vehcile that you dont have to spend a peny on it for the first three years. This is TATA, be prepared to pay large part of your earnings in the repairs.
Final Words: I would not recommend anyone to purchase a TATA vehicle because it is not the matter of variant, it is the value they extend to their customer. Not attending to complaints is not related to any variant but is a part of culture of an organisation.
Areas of improvement : Overall quality has to be improved for the product. In addition customer has to be taken as a purpose of the sales and service centers. Instead they treat the customer as if they are doing some favour to him. Redressal of complaints need to be sympathatic towards the customer because no body has time to file false complaints to get any benefit from the company.
Indigo CS is a good looking car, spacious and that salllong lost of cons. every part changed within three years. no resolution on reporting, high maintaine

Bought the GLS model 2 months back.
Pros
Very spacious, even more or equal to Honda City. The car looks good especially the boot. The Arctic silver color glows in the sunlight. A good value for money car.
Cons-
Considering its kerb weight, the car is quite underpowered.
The first gear does not take it above a speed of 10, 2nd gear can take it only till 20 and the 4th can be take it till a max of 40-50 kms. To reach a speed of 80-100 kms/hr, it requires more time then the other cars.( Had an experience wherein even the Alto has overtaken my car easily.)
Just wanted to verify on one point--- i have been reading user reviews regarding mileage for indgio cs petrol which say that the car gives 11-12 kms/ltr in city driving.
But during the last 2 months I have been able to get a max. mileage of 9.4 kms/ltr in Mumbai traffic with regular unleaded petrol.
So just wondering whether there is some fault with my car settings?
