Tata Indigo CS [2008-2011] User Reviews

I wanted to get my first car so was analyzing a lot of cars and used reviews from carewale.com to shortlist my choices. Untill then i didnt come across Indigo Cs, to be frank i thought it was expensive from the looks of it cant blame me its a sedan.

So anyways went for a query at concord motors, chennai. Well cant be surprised that i was shocked hearing the price. Yet still didnt make up my mind so continued analyzing reviews on this car.

Finally decided and purchased the car and i couldnt be more happier. Highly comfortable, efficient coolong, attractive looks.

But i also felt the bad interiors . and also the plasic on the side of the seat broke in a month.

Other than that the car it jus impressive.

Im getting about 11KMPL in chennai city traffic. and 15 on highways

Exterior Best in the entry level sedan, stunning looks.Fog lamps and indicater strip on mirrer is just owsome.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) I purchased new eCS GLX Petrol version recently. this is my first sadan.I love to drive it, everything is just the way i wanted.Large boot space with comfortable AC and seating. new accomodated features are good but needs change in console design as it looks a little outdated or say 4th generation fighter plane in relative to 5th generation(figo, beat, manza etc.). though enough things are provided at this money to give it a huge thumps up.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Good performance, smooth gearbox and good economy as well, I tried on rough roads as wel and the ride is good.

Ride Quality & Handling Hndling soft n easy, ride quality isexcellent, even the rear passenger is comfortable as it gives enough space, my two childrens hv great space to play.

Final Words GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY ON INDIAN ROADS. INDIA KA RATAN, TATA RATAN.

Areas of improvement FRONT LOOK.

Exterior Looks cool. Especially the metallic crash guard on sides. Indicator on mirror, mirror control from inside of the car were nice.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Some features are cool like can't start without pressing the clutch, child lock for rear windows, location of power window buttons etc. Would have expected the quality of plastic used in interiors to be little better than what I got.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox I thought this area is a bit concern. My Indigo eGLX is giving me 8 kmpl (full tank to full tank). Also found a bit of sluggishness while reversing, have to press the accelerator pedal more than required. Has a decent enough pickup.

Ride Quality & Handling Neat, very neat. Tried on bumpy roads, highways, fast curves etc. You don't feel the pain anywhere.

Final Words For the price that you pay, you won't get anything better. Not at least in current market :-).

Areas of improvement Below 10 kmpl mileage is bit worrying for me, but the car is very new and I expect it to improve. The AC is not good when you compare it Maruti car (I owned one prior to this), but its not bad either. After sale service needs to be better.

Exterior Nice look & feel, steel grill, indicators on ORVMs & blinkers on head lamps give good look.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Decent Interiors with wooden finish console & leather wrapped steering.. Easy to operate electric mirrors, fog lamps & AC switches. Front & rear space is good. Rear reading lamp is also beautifully mounted. Boot space is sufficient for carrying decent amount of language for long drives. Good thing is folding picnic table fits easily in boot.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox With AC getting approximate mileage around 12-13 KMPL in city & 16 - 17 KMPL on Highway. Gear shifting is smooth.

Ride Quality & Handling Purchased eGLX in June 2010.So far driven 2700 Kms , easy control in city & sturdy drive on highways.

Final Words Real value for money for this price, improved look & feel externally & internally.

Areas of improvement Rear power window buttons needs to mount correctly; currently it’s mounted at lower end of door which is not so convenient.

I Jigneshkumar Bharatbhai Rathod, Residing At – xxx, Mann Sarovar, Daxini Faliya, Near Ram Mandir, Sarigam, Tal.- Umargam, Dist. Valsad (Gujarat).

            I purchase a new BURGDY_ROYAL-INDIGO-eCLX on 10/12/2010. and its chassis No.MATxxxxxxAWNxxxxx and Engine No. 1.4CRAILxxNZWxxxxx.  This is my Second car of Tata Motors co. I always trust in Tata Motors but this time I m not satisfied about ur quality, services or policies.

            I do every time regularly my car service time to time in Rathod Moters Vapi, now currently my car has running nearest 23000/- K.M. in last 6 Months and I do every free service on time to time an last Tuesday dated 26/07/2011 I do one more paid serice in Rathod Moters Vapi. I repeat My complain that complain I repeated all time of service in car have trouble of wiring. car is any where any time in running situation car is automatically engine stop and that time i suffering in headache and also fuel diesel pump pipe is two time broken in car running situation and i lost at lise approxlimant 60 liter diesel lost. first time this happened i give this complain in Rathod Moters Vapi they told me this part not in warranty but i say how can this possible to in car running situation pipe was broken. they told me they don’t no how it is possible and second time also repeat this problem in running  car. I told them put a new Diesel Pump but they told me they have not this time having a part diesel pump when it is com we call u. but still right now no any calls or follow up.

            and about ur wiring complain I also do it in Rathod Moters Vapi any cotting on every wiring point by told them but still right now my problem not solve. and today my car not start so i call in Rathod Moters Vapi they told just call on Tata Break Down service and take away ur car. and i call Tata Moters Break Down Service  your service provider give me a complain ref No. 1-13212441081.

            And i toch my car and send to Rathod Moters At Vapi on Tuesday 03/08/11 in evenig time aproxli ment 7.00 pm and today is 06/08/2011 at thay time they could not deliverd my car.

            I want to just say only I think in this car have a any mistake at the time of making. That’s why the car is not in a good result or performance.

            Really sir this time I feel it is  My big mistake to purchase this car.

Exterior Good looks with sleek design  front light should be more powerful.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) comfortable, leg space is good, haven't the place for keeping bottles which is necessity now a days.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine performance is very good but have the noise problem, fuel economy is in my budget as it gives good mileage with air conditioner , gear box is smooth for new driver.

Ride Quality & Handling Ok but not very comfortable, power steering make drivers good in parking in small space. central locking is easier for single person as he doesn't have to lock each door.

Final Words Overall its good. taken good decision by buying this car. need some improvement in certain areas as mentioned below. being a TATA product its reliable affordable in terms of everything be it price fuel maintenance . good for long journey.

Areas of improvement Gearbox, back seat  Air conditioner should be improved, seats are not very comfortable,power window switch are very down.

Exterior Excellent show. No doubt , the Car lying in my porch "adds to my Address". Have ben using Indigo CS ( Diesel ) for the last 3 yrs.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Very excellent features at this price. I have carried 7 persons in my Bangalore trip. Comfortably using for the last 3 trs.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox. Hither to I haven't suffered or worried on Road. Easy overtaking on high terrains too.I have not undergone any type of agony on purchasing this Car.My decision was good. Once I got repaired my car just for                      Rs.17/=( Rupees Seventeen only )

Ride Quality & Handling:  Heavy when compared to petrol cars.Instead, the power steering and good driving habits sustains.No bad feel or fatigue even after very long drives. I have driven myself from Ranni ( Pathanamthitta ) to Bangalore and Coimbatore  without breaks for "rest."

Final Words : The best Car I ever have travelled, owned and driven.

Areas of improvement  : Certainly, the Interiors need Improvements.
