Exterior : Good Interior (Features, Space & Comfort): Good features, space and comfort. Indica vista Reached equal to ford comfort.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox:
1. Engine is smoother.
2. Performance is good.
3. Gear box Drivetech advertisement is not visible in the real perfromance of the gearbox. It is not at all smoother. I used Ford escort, which has good gear box in terms of shifting. Indica vista gear box shifting is almost disappointing. Feel unhappy with the gearbox.
Ride Quality & Handling Riding quality is good because of the engine. But gear shift makes the drive harder. With Reverse gear and applying break. sound like rolling a drum is coming. FInish of the vehnical is not upto the mark of other indian car makers. Espicially window glass side rubbers, windscreen sorounded rubbers, i am able to see a lot of gap, which allows a lot of dust to settle inside. Airconditurion is moderate. Paint quality is also modarate.
Final Words I purchased aura plus Quadrajet car Aug.2010. The car looks good except, source from vibration from driver side (can hear from cabin not from outside), viper blade holding metal part has rust, while taking reverse a sound like rolling drum is coming. I yet to reach dealer. If any of you already had similar problem and rectified, please let me know the cause. It will help me.
Areas of improvement
1. Build quality
2. gear box shifting smoothness.
3. At least the car should be rust free while delivering to the customer.
4. Make the offers from Tata to be very clear. I am not happy with the offer being said by the TATA and is given by the dealer.

I do not own this car but I test drove the Aura Quadrajet version and have listed my impressions.
Pros:
Space: This is the first thing that comes to your mind when you think of an Indica. There is space everywhere you see. Enough Legroom, Shoulder room and Head room for even 5 people.
Visibilty: Driver's visibilty is excellent. The good driving position, large rear shields and windows render unmatched visibilty for its size.
Features: The Aura version offers lots of features like Audio warnings, Integrated stereo, Power windows, Adjustable steering, Height adjustable driver seat and the list goes on..
Engine: The fiat's engine which is doing duty on 4 cars now is brilliant. It is refined, accelerates well and produces enough torque to keep you rolling.
Styling: This is a subjective one but to me the Vista looks better than the swift or palio. The rear makes it looks like a Van and the front with upswept head lamps give it a modern and aggressive look.
Ride Quality: Cannot be described in words. You have to feel it. It takes everything the roads can throw in it. Just great.
Cons:
Cornering: Large Gap between wheels and Fender and smaller wheels for a tall car means lots of body roll in corners. Tata should work on making better handling vehicles.
Interior/Switch Gear Quality: The dual tone beige interiors certainly look good but lack a quality feel. The plastics, the seats still leave a lot to be desired in terms of quality. I'm not sure if this was in the test car but the power window switches and door knobs looked very cheap. The plastic seemed unfinished and lacked a tactile feel. Tata should certainly improve this.
Gear Shift: This could be a specific problem. The gear throws were long and the gears never really slotted into place. I had a tough time hunting for the 2nd gear. When I asked the sales person, he said the test car has done about 5000 kms and this could have caused it. But I don't see any justification in a gear box creating problems in just 5000 kms.
Build Quality: Yes, much better than the previous indica but still not upto the class benchmark. Panel gaps do exist and you hear rattling when the car goes over potholes.
Center Console: Tata highlights this as a plus but I disagree. How many passengers are interested in the speed or the amount you rev your engine ? This is not a good idea and it ironically proves it of not being a "Driver Focussed Car".
Conclusion: This is a huge leap by Tata Motors in terms of Technical and Design accomplishment. Also, the pricing is good. But the lack of quality take steal a huge margin from the VFM factor. If Tata can work on this, the Vista will be a sure winner.
PS: Those who call Tata as a truck maker or the Indica as taxis, think again. How many Indicas/Indigos/Safaris you see on the road that are not white in colour (Colour of cabs) ? I tried once to count them but couldn't. You are seeing many many (and will continue to see) Tata cars on the road.

Hello Everyone,
This is really Good News for all Indica Vista Lovers!
I have come to know from some trusted sources that Tata is soon to launch Indigo Vista. This will come as a relief for all those who feel that the boot space of Indica Vista is really some drawback. So now you can really have ample space for all your holiday plans. I only hope that it does not become bulkier like Logan.
Another good news is that Tata has plans to launch Mini Toyota Innova or you could call it another Honda Jazz, but it could be slightly bigger than Honda Jazz. It could be named "CROSSROADS". It is expected to be launched by end of this year. It is most likely to have Fiat Engine with high high power and better mileage. I think that Tatas' understand the Indian road conditions better that others and therfore they make vehicles which are totally INDIANPROOF.
If anyone has more information then please share it amongst all of us.

I have been using the Vista Aura Saffire 1.2 for about a week and a half and here are my observations.
I had looked at several other cars in the same price range and same segment and ultimately zeroed on Indica Vista 1.2 Saffire Aura thinking it to be the best value for money car. I was a lot apprehensive about the fuel economy of petrol engine as Tata did not do so well with the earlier petrol engines.
I have been driving a Maruti Omni for 10 years and never faced any major issues/mileage problems with the car.
What I thought to be a perfect combination of style, technology and economy is quite far from perfection. I am briefly trying to give you the reasons which broke my heart after buying the
The mileage of the car is unbelievably low about 6-8 kms with the A/C on in
When running the car above 40 KM/Hr, the front wheels are getting heated up and smell of burning rubber is coming out.
The build quality of the mirrors, bumpers and mud flaps are extremely flimsy. Two days back the left mirror just fell of by itself and broke. The mirror was not damaged or hit anyway. I just sat down in the car and closed the door when I saw the mirror falling off into the footpath.(Not the full mirror, just the glass inside the plastic cover)
The power steering is light and easy to drive but not suited for sharp bends or curves. The turning radius of the car is
The horn does not work when the steering is at the extreme positions like full left and full right. This is not only annoying but very dangerous.
For me, I have got many a times false reverse gear like the reverse lights glow but the car goes not go back.
And it also takes extra effort to change to reverse, you can go nuts if you drive in city traffic where others vehicles start honking horns even if there is a delay of 2 secs.
I checked with one of my friends who has recently brought the Indigo CS and he reported the same problem.
Not that great Air Conditioner people seated in the back seat does not feel comfortable unless the car has been driven for 30 minutes with full blower and full A/C. Besides you will feel the lack of power from the engine, when trying to accelerate after a slowdown to avoid a pot hole or rickshaw with the full A/C.
Ground clearance is not that good (
If you are taking a test drive does keep these points in mind and test the car accordingly.
That’s all about the car and here goes some of the bitter experiences I faced before taking delivery of the car.
I had to wait for 15 days to get the Cavern Grey color.
I had a scratch on the bonnet, dealer claimed that the damage done was during the transport and will be patched up during 1st service.
I got the owner’s manual for Vista TDI/Quadrajet even though I bought the Saffire Aura.
I checked other Vistas at the same dealer location and found that all of them had some scrat Exterior/Styles Comfort & Space Performance (Engine/Gear/Overall) Fuel Economy Value for Money/Features
