I bought my vehicle in 2010. I had basically bought it for moving my machine parts for my industrial engine for repairs. Being a TATA, I was very sure its the cheapest in its class, largest backseat and easily repairable. I did not plan to keep the vehicle for more than 6 months keeping in mind all the noise issues faced in TATA vehicles. However, I've been using it till now and I'm highly impressed as its not what TATA used to be. It's amazingly refined, lively interiors and no noises or sqeeks. I did face problems with stability due to a manufacturing defect in the vehicle, but that was well handled and rectified even though it involved replacing everything apart from the body and engine of the car. To sum it all up, all parts were changed under warranty.
I am highly amazed and reccomend this vehicle if anyone wants a value for money yet powerful car.

Exterior THE NEW VISTA D90 LOOKS SAME AS THE ONE I HAVE I.E. THE 75 BHP REFRESHED VERSION BUT FOR SOME EXTRA CASH TATA CAN PROVIDE YOUR D90 WITH A BODY KIT THAT COMPRISES OF SIDE SKIRTS,REAR SKIRT, FRONT SKIRT & A F1 TYPE SPOILER AT THE BACK WHICH SEEMS OVER THE TOP BUT OVERALL WITH THE "INFINITY CONTRAST ROOF" AS TATA CALLS THE ROOF WHICH IS DIFFERENT IN COLOUR I.E. ON LIGHT COLOURS THE ROOF IS BLACK IN COLOUR & ON DARK COLOURS THE ROOF IS WHITE IN COLOUR (SAME AS THE CLUB CLASS MANZA) IT LOOKS MORE SPORTY FROM THE OUTSIDE.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) THE MAIN THING YOU WILL NOTICE ON STEPPING INSIDE THE CABIN IS THAT THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER IS BACK IN ITS PLACE LIKE THE MANZA UNLIKE IN THE MIDDLE WHICH MY VISTA HAS.THOUGH I WELCOME THE CHANGE, I DO THINK THAT THIS PALCEMENT OF THE INSTRUMENT CONSOLE WILL RESTRICT FRONT VISIBILITY QUITE A BIT,WHICH WILL BE A PROBLEM FOR SHORT DRIVERS.YES,I KNOW THE D90 HAS HEIGHT ADJUSTABLE DRIVER'S SEAT BUT STILL FRONT VISIBILITY IS BETTER IN 75BHP VISTA I THINK SO.BUT THE FEATURE WHICH I LIKE THE MOST IS THE DRIVER INFORMATION SYSTEM(DIS) WHICH IS THERE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DASHBOARD WHERE THE INSRUMENT CONSOLE USED TO BE IN THE 75BHP VISTA.IT SHOWS DISTANCE TO EMPTY,AVERAGE FUEL ECONOMY AND AVERAGE FUEL ECONOMY THROUGHOUT THE TRIP,AMBIENT TEMPERATURE AND A CLOCK. THRES ALSO A NEW TOUCHSCREEN INTERFACE WHICH HAS GPS,USB,AUX,BLUETOOTH & SD CARD CONNECTIVITY.THE ONLY PROBLEM IS THAT THOUGH IT CAN PLAY VIDEOS, IT ONLY DOES PLAY THEM WHEN THE CAR IS STATIONARY AND THE HANDBRAKE IS PULLED UP,THEREFORE YOU CAN NOT WATCH MOVIES WHILE GOING FOR A TRIP OR LONG DRIVE.COMING TO SPACE,THE PRIME FACTOR OF CHOICE FOR MIDDLE CLASS FAMILIES, JUST SEE MR.SIRISH CHANDRAN'S REVIEW ON THE TATA MANZA WHEN IT WAS LAUNCHED.HE HAS SAID IN THAT REVIEW THAT THE VISTA IS THE MOST SPACIOUS HATCHBACK YOU CAN BUY IN INDIA. BOOT SPACE OF 232LTS IS OKAY FOR ME,BUT FOR MOST OF THOSE PEOPLE WHO LOVE TO GO FOR TRIPS WITH THEIR FAMILY,IT SEEMS A LITTLE LESS.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox THE D90 BOASTS OF A 90BHP QUADRAJET ENGINE PROVIDED BY FIAT WHICH DOES DUTY IN THE MANZA,ERTIGA,SX4,PUNTO 90HP & LINEA.I AM JUST 13 & HALF YEARS OLD SO I DON'T KNOW ABOUT HOW THIS CAR FEELS TO DRIVE,BUT FROM READING ABOUT IT IN SEVERAL MAGAZINES LIKE AUTOCAR,OVERDRIVE,etc I FEEL THAT THIS CAR IS A BIT HARD TO DRIVE IN TRAFFIC AS THERE IS NOTICEABLE TURBO LAG BELOW 1500RPM BUT AFTER THAT, THERE IS LOADS OF TORQUE CUTTING IN UPTO 4000RPM.COMING TO FUEL ECONOMY,MY 75BHP VISTA GIVES A GOOD FUEL ECONOMY OF ABOUT 19-20 KMPL IS MY ANSWER TO TYPICAL INDIANS LIKE US WHOSE FIRST QUESTION ON SEEING A NEW CAR IS "KITNA DETI HAI?" GOING BY WHICH THE D90 SHOULD GIVE A FUEL ECONOMY OF ABOUT 15-16KMPL IN THE REAL WORLD.THE ARAI CERTIFIED FUEL ECONOMY OF 22.3KMPL IS UNDER STANDARD TEST CONDITIONS,WHICH INCLUDES DRIVING ON A SPECIALIZED TRACK WITH NO POTHOLES,NO SPEEDBREAKERS,NO START STOP TRAFFIC & SO NO FREQUENT GEAR CHANGING,SO ALWAYS REMOVE MINIMUM 4 TO 5 KMPL FROM THE ARAI CERTIFIED MILEAGE & SO YOU CAN REMOVE THE MILEAGE IN REAL WORLD.GEARBOX IS EVEN IMPROVED,BUT STILL DOES NOT HAVE A SMOOTH FEEL LIKE THE SANTRO XING WHICH WE HAD BEFORE WHOSE GEARBOX HAS WON PRAISE FOR ITS SMOOTHNESS BY EVERYONE WHO DROVE IT.THE 1ST 4 GEARS SLOT EFFICIENTLY AS I HAVE SEEN WHEN I SEE ANYONE DRIVING MY CAR,BUT THE 5TH & REVERSE GEAR NEED SOME BICEPS TO SLOT THEM.THIS IS REDUCED IN THE D90 BUT IT IS STILL THERE.
Ride Quality & Handling RIDE QUALITY OF TATA CARS HAVE ALWAYS BEEN CLASS BENCHMARKS & THE 75BHP VISTA WAS NO EXCEPTION.BUT THE D90 HAS STIFFENED DAMPERS AND SPRINGS WHICH MEANS HIGH SPEED RIDE & STABILITY IS BETTER BUT LOW SPEED RIDE IS NOT THAT GOOD AS THE 75BHP VERSION.BUT THE STIFFENED SUSPENSION MEANS HANDLING IS IMPROVED & THERE IS LESSER BODY ROLL.SURE THE FRONT TIRES WILL SQUEEL A BIT WHEN YOU ARE ROUGH ON HER IN CORNERS,BUT NOT AS MUCH AS THE 75BHP VERSION.
Final Words A GOOD ATTEMPT FROM TATA IN ORDER TO ATTRACT YOUNGER AUDIENCES WHO EITHER OPT FOR THE ONLY SPORTY BUT IMPRACTICAL MARUTI SUZUKI SWIFT OR THE GOOD BUT EXPENSIVE HYUNDAI I20 OR FIAT'S SPORTY BUT PRICEY,FEATURELESS & CRAMPED PUNTO.THE VISTA D90-A JACK OF ALL TRADES.
Areas of improvement BOOT SPACE MUST BE INCREASED A BIT & TATA SHOULD IMPROVE ITS AFTER SALES SERVICE WHICH IS JUST AVERAGE.

Exterior Solid Built. Cant tell from front if this is a Hatch.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Best In-class space. I am 6 feet and person can sit comfirtably behind me.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is good. I generated 19 kmpl driving 800 km's in 2 days. In city, Delhi-Guraon-Delhi it gives 15 kmpl, Delhi - Noida - Delhi, it Gives 17 kmpl. Gearbox needs a bit of improvments.
Ride Quality & Handling Superb ride quality. seats are comfirtable and three people can sit comfirtably on rear seat.
Final Words I drove it more than 15000 kms till now. It gives everything what I expected from this car + it comes in budget (Cheaper than swift having same engine, cheaper than I20 having similar comfirt). Swift vdi does not come with ABS where as Vista vx comes with ABS and EBD + Sterio with USB and Bluetooth (Streaming and calling) + Stearing mounted controls. A car definiely to go with if you are looking for a diesal hatch.
Areas of improvement Sterio is good, but speakers are not upto the mark.

Exterior Good.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Good, but low utility space. Dosent have a bottle holder for front and rear seat. Best in class rear seat comfort. Leg space for rear seat is amazinge , not other Hatch back hav this much spacing(even though it reduces boot space). Enough room inside the car feels us comfortable inside even for a long journey.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Really Good, I just love it. I will foget all my sorrow when I enjoy its power :) (No lag for the turbo to get start)
Mileage >20km/l
Gear Box: Not bad. Can handle easily.
Steering: Good. Its Hydrolic stearing, so those who have used electronic stearing may feel this difficuly. But the car is perfectly balanced with this hydrolic power steering. (may be difficult for ladies.)
Ride Quality & Handling Good, but the tall boy design dosent makes it tittle unstable compared to other cars like punto, polo.
Final Words Its value for money. The best thing is low maintenance cost. While I spend just 4000 for its service at 20,000km, an i20 owner has to spend more than 15,000.
Areas of improvement I experiance some issues with the door lock, but i hope thats bcos I fitted the central loking system from outside. I suggest buyers to go for atleast LX model, so to avoide such issues.

Final Words
My experience in dealing with TATA Motors and their dealer network has given me the inspiration to name and write this Article.
My journey began with TATA in the year 2010.
Buying a new car for the family and seeing all my imagined road trip come to life was truly a mesmerizing experience that cannot be expressed.
Its some thing that we all my go through when we buy our automobile for Maruti / Hundia / Tata/ Ford / General Motors and many other manufacturers inIndia.
I bought my car with the intention to drive it benefit from its features. I return I came to experience that before buying a TATA Car is should have done a diploma course in “Quality Management In Cars”. I hope one day Tata Motors introduces this course for all its prospective buyers which will help them to understand their quality better.
After a period of 3 ½ years and many correspondence with TATA Motors including their retired chairman Mr Ratan Tata I concluded that the problem was not in my car but with the management of the company and the policies that they make.
It’s my personal advice to all that if you have any quality issued with your TATA Car you must sell it rather them waiting for TATA Motors to help you out.
Remember they will only provide you with a life jacket to stay afloat in the ocean but they will never pull you out of it into safety.
In other words, they will fix your problems temporarily till the warranty wares out, after that your one your own.
Happy TATAring.
(Which mean’s come more to workshop for repairs rather them driving the car on road.)

I took a test drive and it is a good Value for Money. If I can get whats in Swift (even more) for less than 50 K why will I go and buy a Swift. I am 6'2 and the space inside the car is amazing and when seated inside the car It didnt feel like an indica, TATA improved a lot. My next car is Vista no doubt .
The best part is engine.
My comparision with Swift (Swift Owner's No Offence)
1. Same engine
2. Space Space and Space Huge space in comparision with Swift (You need to see to believe it)
3. Cheaper than Swift
4. TATA Service Network is Ok
5. Looks stylsh yet very comfortable
So, This car can be called as King of Hatchbacks.
Please visit to believe, I was shocked to see the car (the way TATA improved their Vehicle from Old Indica .. its amazing)

I bought Indica Vista in 2010 March. Till now I have driven 22000 kms. It has always been a problem with the reliability of this car. During first 6 months it broke down 3 times and in last six months it broke down 2 times. Always there is a problem with the Alternator of this car but the dealer never agreed to replace it they always repair it and always ask for 2-3 days to repair. Its always very embarrising when u r going with your family on a long route and your car breaks down in between. and you have to leave your vehicle in a city where u dont know anyone for 2-3 days. Very poor service quality. always a problem with service dealers they never service the vehicle properly. In last 1 year car has always a problem of sound coming from Dashboard but none of the service center people corrected it after multiple complaints. car never crosses 100km\hr even after full acceleration i have been complaining this from last 4 months but no solution to this. Many times dealer asked me for labour charges even when the car is in warranty(1st year warranty) to tighten the engine belt which was creating noise. They never changed it and it always starts sounding after 1000 kms. I will suggest everyone not to buy this car..go for any car but not Tata.
say No to Tata Vehicles.

Hi all,
I have bought Tata Indica Vista 1.3 qudrajet Aura model on 27th March in occasion of GudiPadwa. It is my first car. After a long research I finally decided to go for Indica Vista. I decided to buy Indica vista for following reasons:
1. I needed good space.
2. I needed good mileage and more power in diesel car.
3. Also car should not to costly.
All things I found in
I have just drive 200 km. in city. And it gave me 16kmpl.
Not so bad….
Fit and finish is very well.
Drivability is also good. It does not give the feel of Diesel car. Pick up of car is also good. After pressing accelerator car take speed. Also while in city driving car easily get pickup. As compare to Swift it has more Torque though weight of car is more than Swift.
Only things is that HVAC system is not working properly (I think so since I have used very less so it may my guess). Car can not cool ASAP.
Plz wait for another review after 1000km…..
Over al it gives me value for my money.
hello every one today i have completed 3500km. and it gives me 19kmpl mileage. This is including city and highway drive.
HVAC system is working properly. and on any significant problem has been found it.
overall This car is very good.
