Took the delivery of Xeta 1403cc on november 2006. Performance is too good. Good pickup and noiseless engine. Though the power and space is more or less of Swift and Getz..but cannot be compared with the finish. Mileage in city i am getting around 12km/lt AC on. I was told the mileage will improve after the first service. but i got around 15 km/lt on high way AC on. that is great for the investment, considering the power and space. Shock absorbers are okay but not as smoother as swift or getz. Be careful on inspecting the interiors before taking delivery. Inspect thoroughly before accepting it, as i faced problem in changing the front dashed board which had a patchup marks on the brand new car. Otherwise i am extremely happy for my first new car purchase after thorough survey on other cars in the same class.Good looking, worth for the moneyInteriors not up to the mark ( check thoroughly before you take the delivery)

I would like to write a few lines about the new XETA 2007 model. While the technical features of the car are kept untouched, the company has considered the reivews of its customers and have made some changes in the exterior and interior of the Cars. Now the car gives you a sporty look. 1. Elegant new front grill with chrom inserts. The grill has been modified from Smily look and the size reduced so that the car gets an good look. 2. New front look with wire mesh at the bottom gives the car a sporty look 3. Set of single beam clear lens lamps, front fog lamps and sleep tail lamps 4. ORVMs have also been modified in line with the competitors viz. Honda City has such a ORVM 5. The beige interiors pepped up with fresh new seat fabric. 6.The instrument cluster has also been redesigned. The meters now pose a black look from its earlier white background 7. Last but not the least, now the new Indica has 4 new shades viz. Amazon Blue, Pastel Green, Arizona Ochre, Cavern Grey in addition to the old shades Salsa Red (*), Carbon Black(*), Artic Silver and Mint white. But the new look will cost you not much only 1% extra. The Company is giving Rs.20000/- cash discount (from its earlier Rs.25000/-). But the increase in cost is worth while considering the facelift. I am very happy that eventhough, I have booked the vehicle in Dec 2006 last week, I am the proud owner of the new looking Xeta 2007. New Xeta 2007 model - Sporty Look, very goodPrice hike.

Almost everybody laughed at my decision when I zeroed down on Fiat Palio and Tata Indica Xeta almost 14 months bk ! Today I laugh at them spending approx. 30 - 40 K extra for cars that are as good ( or less worthy ) than Xeta. First of all all of us should be very clear that no car is perfect on all counts - we have to be very clear about the priorities of features we are looking out for in a car - inexpensive , roomy , safe , good responsive engine , driving experience etc. I had my priorities in place - 3.1 Lacs for a min.1.1 L engine with AC and power steering and spacious ( both leg and boot )  - Xeta outscored both Hyundai and Maruti on these accounts ( engine with approx 100 cc more and all torque at initial rpm for city traffic driving ) . Estilo shape sucks and Hyundai was overpiced .Xeta weighs approx 100 - 150 kgs more than Santro or Estilo and that takes a slight toll on the mileage but I found it also adds confidence on steering adventurous curves  - the same I found lagging with tallish cars like Estilo , Santro or Wagon R . So friend if its your hard earned money give a second thought to this car - and if you have a pampering dad financing your car - your options are wide open - lucy you!Good fuel eco. , space , grt lookng nd torquey engine at a price to put Maruti /Hyundai to shameavg. after sales service and not very good fit n finish

I have purchase this car in 2007 and i found its best decission to by Tata Indica Xeta. I don't feel any problems in this car.its lesser meaintenance cast than othe make car.people have wrong mind setup with Tata Indica due to Diesel model because its create more sound than Petrol car. This car will Excelent and good fuel economy.  Good looking ,style, Comfortabe & also fuel econmy.I will get 15Km/L in cityand at highway 18km/L.Nothing bad in this car only bad thinking of Indian People who think its Indian car thats why

Interiors of Indica as compared to WAGON R,Santro: Indica has interior room comparable with most mid-sizers. Plastic quality has improved but not excellent. But functional enough to serve your needs.Old Indicas wer having problems of rough edges.I feel Tatas have taken care of this in V2.AC control switches are improved.Great interiors, Great value for money, SpaciousFuel consumption looks on higher side but looks expected from a big vehicle like this.

i bought this car 1.5 yrs back,it was my first car.i had a limited budget and wanted a spacious car,for 5 people.myself, wife ,my child and my parents.it fits us all comfertably.

next was its performance-it gives a reasonable mileage of avg.14km/l.but-if you turn on your ac the mileage drops considerably to 9-10km/l.rides are comfertable, smooth.

the only problem i have faced is the tubes of tyres.they got punctured 9-10 times in last 1.5 yrs.after repeatedly asking the dealer there was no response,so i changed the 1 tube on my own.

i reccommend this car to those people who want a car at minimal budget ,for spac.,and buying  a car for the first time.

use it for 2-3 years get aquainted, buy a good new car and sell ur xeta.

spacious, value for moneypoor mileage especially with ac on

      Hi Friends,

I m Rajesh from Hyderabad. I bought Indica V2 Xeta in November-2008. Next year, I would be with Marithi Swift-Diesel. I hope this review may be helpful to the new buyers.

Exterior I think Tata could be in another way of styling exterior with the same metal and cost. But why not it, a million rupees quesion. Sice nearly 15 years, the same styling, really we, Indians are great for our tolerance.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) No doubt, plastics are of cheap quality.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox It is good. It rolled 16 thousonds km only in three years, as I'm more interested in Bike driving only in City. Car is mainly used in sundays with family and on out door journeys. Mileage is on highway-15 km/lit with 95% AC on, In Hyderabad 12 km/lit with 95% AC on. Gear box is not good. It is hard in first and second. Break is in not full function while in Reverse gear.(Informed to servicing people, but no change).

Ride Quality & Handling It's OK. Some what better, I think, than Alto in view of space and driving comfort.

Final Words I thougt of budget and security, while taking tata-xeta petrol in 2008. I think, tata people absolutely fulfilled the same.

Areas of improvement The external styling should be improved.

Driving comfort, Children movement space.Old styled body, Poor show room guys response, Poor service centers number.
