My first new vehicle. INDICA DLG TC - Took delivery 15-Dec-2006. In the initial exploring stage, on the internet, I gauged that several service related issues/complaints existed on this vehicle. However, I learnt that backdoors, TATA has been working on the INDICA and I took the decision when my local garagewallah told me that the Turbo Diesel INDICA was a good choice. With a city running of almost 70 Kms daily, I think I have a winner on hands. Even compared to my old ESTEEM, I find the ride quality better, seating position more comfortable and the vehicle extremely responsive, where it matters. I did not find anything wrong with the gears or ride quality, however, the initial drag is something that you have to get accustomed to, if you are used to petrol cars. There is more than enough power and any discomfort in bumper traffic (as some people have put it) is just a matter of getting used to the vehicle. I am extremely happy with the interiors too as well as the hvac airconditioner. Some minor issues have come up like a problem with the glass movement in one of the power windows and a vibration sound at the rear (after I put the seat covers) probably because of the rear seat lock lever, but these are inherent issues with any new car and should be sorted out soon. Yes, there is a problem with service quality, however I have gauged this only from the initial response given by service staff from where i purchased the vehicle. TATA Motors may think of bringing out some radical changes in their service quality/personnel (mostly with the dealer network). Most practical choice for people looking for overall economyNothing that makes me worried, so far.

Much-2 More Refined then earlier Indica. Comfortable , Spacious. It glides on Highway soundless , You woun't feel sitting in a diesel car. Just Press Pedal and one Turbo come in to picture you are far far ahead any other car on road. Fuel Efficient... 14-15 in city 19-20 on highway (In 50% a/c) Mind blowing HVAC system , You may feel a bit jittery in bumper traffic. But worth buying it...........Great Fuel Eco. , Highway Beast, Comfort , spaceA bit Jittery in Bumper to Bumper Traffic

My Indica V2 Turbo has completed one year of run around 10000 Kms. It is one of the best small cars in the business today.

I have also driven the new Swift Diesel... & find nothing great in the car when compated to the Indica Turbo. The Swift Diesel is surely not worth Rs.5.4 Lacs (on road price in Bangalore) & definitely does not deserve the hype created by the media & Maruthi Udyog. I was also not happy with its power & pickup.

Surely, at the end of the day, I am a proud owner of Indica V2 DLG Turbo

Good pickup, fuel economy, leg space, powerBad interiors

The Indica Turbo is Perfect Value for Money. I have owned it for almost a yr (completing this month end). What i am not very satisfied with is its average (14kms), when one compares it to the new Swift Disel (18-20kms). Though I am very satisfied with the Indica Turbo, I must say Tata needs to yet put in immense amount of effort for the interior quality, with simple things like your fuel tank at half full makes you aware of the fact when driving on bumpy roads of Pune. Overall, for the cost at which it sells, I'd say its definitely amongst the best in the Indian Market.Definite Value for Money, Very Spacious for its Size.Poor interior quality, Rattling

We bought one in April 2006 for my parents.

Good space.Great in the city.Decent on the highway. Economical. Comfortable.

Turbo Lag in second gear is a PAIN. The car cries when you go over a speed breaker and it takes quite a while to build up revs after you slow down and shift down to second.

I am wondering how it will feel, if one is negotiating the hairpin bends on the Sigur Ghats on the way to Ooty.

Tata AFTER SALES Service needs a swift kick in the rear end! This car came to us with a constant fan belt/ AC Belt squeaky noise. Despite many attempts to get rid of it, it continues. The latest thing to conk out is the rear door central locking mechanism forcing one to stick a hand out and open the door from outside.

Build quality is not fantastic and the tyres are too small and tiny despite the 14 inch rims!

This car however is great value to use and is very nice and easy to park etc in crowded cities, while still being very spacious, even at the rear seats.

I am wondering about the re-sale value though.

Fuel Economy. Space. Value. Extras not available in other similar size carsService, Turbo Lag in Second Gear, Overall image. Wondering about re-sale

I bought Indica DLG Turbo in Jan 2006. I drove 21,000 Kms in it. This is a good value for money car. The pick up is good. When it comes to the milage it is giving a fentastic milage of 20 kms per litre for  highway drive and around 13 kms for city drive.I love the space inside this car.I drove to ooty 5 times in this car, It climb very well if we maintain hight RPM. I am unhappy about the Jasper Industries serivce in Vijayawada.Good fuel economy,Space and PickupPost Sales Service

Good Car. Value for money. Comfort in long journey also. Only unhappyness in Belt & Engine noise and AC sudden stop after 200KM continious running.

Incase the small small problems can improve, it is the best car in this price tag.

Also an good exchange price from TATA MOTORS is expected incase of buying a higher model car.

      Regards,

      ARIJIT GHOSH, KOLKATA
