In Dec 2007 I had purchased Indica v2 Xeta -GLS (petrol version).Till date I have done about 1400 kms including a long drive of about 350 Kms.
Iam satisfied with this car . The engine is silent and responsive, the aircon excellent, good suspension, the biege interiors are attractive. The space inside is large enough for a small car. In the highway it gave 15.5Km .I can recommend this car from Tatas without hesitation to anyne who is looking for a petrol version of a small car.
The dealer M/sConcorde Motors Ltd. Velachary ,Chennai needs a special mention as my experience with them in this deal was a pleasant one.

Spacious interiors, silent engine ,excellent aircon and very good suspension.Reasonable fuel economyxxxxxx

Tata says that INDICA V2 XETA is fully compatible for CNG but when i spoke to one of the authroised service centre i was told that CNG is not good for TATA Cars as ECU(Engine control unit) sometimes can not identify between CNG and Petrol and thus crashes, and this ECU cost Rs. 30000 around, TATA gives 3 free replacements for ECU and after that customer has to bear the cost.
I suggest if you want to go for CNG fitment think about other car otherwise wait for the petrol price to set down.

Good looks, very comfortableBad Dealership, imporper delivery

I am a owner of a Xeta GLG for close to 2 yrs. I have driven 21000Kms till now and have not encountered any problem. Its a great car for long distance drive as well as city drive. May be its a little difficult for ladies to drive. Interior looks good, but the plastic quality seems to lack quality. But for this price I think this is the best one can get. The car is VERY BIG & can easily accomodate 5 people. I drive this car in peak Bangalore traffic daily, covering 50kms a day. In bumper-to-bumper traffic conditions, it gives me 12kmpl (with ac sometimes ON). On long distance drive, it gives me an incredible 20kmpl, with AC ON for most of the distance (bangalore-mysore highway).

I have read many reviews on this car about reliability. If at all there were any reliability issues, I am sure I would have experienced by now. I am happy with the car so far.

Spacious, good suspension, decent powerAverage mileage, interior quality

I have been using car since last seven years now, although i have only driven it only for 43000 km till date, mostly in the city of mumbai.I am quite satisfied with the car.Only problem i had still date was of steering needed to be repaired and there was water seeping in from somewhere which mechanic nor tata service center could figure out. Both of that cost me about 9000 rupees. But that i all what spent in last seven years of usage.

I am quite sure this car will last me for another seven years it will do all my day to day work of a workhorse.I have owned suzuki cars prior to and ford ikon. Both of them have given me zillions of problems after five years of using.

If you compare the car with hyundai i 10 or i 20, maruti suzuki swift or alto or any other brand., this car is great value for money, better legroom, better mileage, better technology for price we pay.

Now the only reason what i can see why people dont want to buy their own countries product with everything going for it is SUFFER FROM INFERIORITY COMPLEX.

Indian’s want PHOREIGN thing, they simply not got over mentality of yesteryears.

Let fools buy PHOREIGN,I am quite happy with what i have bought, all my next cars are either going to be either mahindra or tata.

Almost everybody laughed at my decision when I zeroed down on Fiat Palio and Tata Indica Xeta almost 14 months bk ! Today I laugh at them spending approx. 30 - 40 K extra for cars that are as good ( or less worthy ) than Xeta. First of all all of us should be very clear that no car is perfect on all counts - we have to be very clear about the priorities of features we are looking out for in a car - inexpensive , roomy , safe , good responsive engine , driving experience etc. I had my priorities in place - 3.1 Lacs for a min.1.1 L engine with AC and power steering and spacious ( both leg and boot )  - Xeta outscored both Hyundai and Maruti on these accounts ( engine with approx 100 cc more and all torque at initial rpm for city traffic driving ) . Estilo shape sucks and Hyundai was overpiced .Xeta weighs approx 100 - 150 kgs more than Santro or Estilo and that takes a slight toll on the mileage but I found it also adds confidence on steering adventurous curves  - the same I found lagging with tallish cars like Estilo , Santro or Wagon R . So friend if its your hard earned money give a second thought to this car - and if you have a pampering dad financing your car - your options are wide open - lucy you!Good fuel eco. , space , grt lookng nd torquey engine at a price to put Maruti /Hyundai to shameavg. after sales service and not very good fit n finish

I bought the Indica Xeta GLS BS III in July 2008, replacing my M800 which served me faithfully for 8 yrs and 58000 Kms.

Having evaluated Wagon R Lxi, Santro Xing, Chevy Spark for over two months, I decided on Xeta (against all popular advice) for the following reasons....

      • Low cost of purchase. ( Total cost with accessories was almost same as Alto Lxi)
      • Roomy interiors.
      • Peppy Engine.
      • Excellent AC
      • Good features at no extra cost
      • Low maintainace.

After 1 year use my feedback...

      • Low Milage: Run 12800 Kms (30% with AC, 70% without AC), Fuel comsumed 1195 Ltrs - Avg FE 10.72 Kmpl. Usage 100% city, Peak traffic hours.
Comfortable Interiors, Excellent Ride, Good Pickup, Affordable CostPoor Milage, Outdated looks & Style, Loses Power with AC on

Made this choice due to specific personal needs ; Am really ok with this decision today.

Indica v2 turbo DLS is an excellent vehicle overall & infact some small petrol cars should shy away.

If you want to use car on long drives, highways & frequent use - & still want to be economical - this is the choice.

The plastic parts could be of better quality and finish.  The overal body could also have better fit and finish when compared with other hatchbacks.

Sometimes, the power delivery appears jittery with AC during city drives & the car struggles for pick up during an up-hill task ; but the car is good overall.  It these deficiences are taken care OR reduced significantly, then no need to look further in this car range - this easily stands as the choice.

Finally, last year the color choices available were not that impressive.

The pricing is competitive - but definetely TATA need not compromise so much on the interiors & save one rear view mirror with each version down.

economical, good on highwayfinishing, plastic, pick-up on up hill ride is poor

Took the delivery of Xeta 1403cc on December 2006.
Performance is too good. Good pickup and noiseless engine. Though the power and space is more or less of Swift and Getz... Mileage in city i am getting around 12km/lt AC on. I was told the mileage will improve after the first service. but i got around 14 km/lt on high way AC on. that is great for the investment, considering the power and space. It is very spacious comparatively with equivalent models and a good value for money. i have taken this car for bangalore trip . i touched a high speed of 140 km/hr. anybody who is willing to puschase this car i srongly recommend to go with Alloy wheels b'cos the std wheels are very weak and it got damaged often . or other wise it is a good car for an investment of 3 lacs , 1.4 engine, a.c, power steering 5 people capacity . what else you want

spacious and comfortable with fantastic leg roomsinteriors not impressive and should have choosed alloys wheels

we bought this car 20 months back and at that time the dealers promised 14kmpl overall and 16-17kmpl on highway without ac...but when we bought the car...it was giving mileage of 6-7kmpl overall and 12.5kmpl on highway without ac in the initial months...when asked by the company ..they asked us to come to the workshop and get it tested...and the results were normal..and they cudnt figure out wat was wrong wid the mileage...so they blamed it on the newness of the car and that the mileage wud increase after the first service...
so the first service is done in due course of time..and the mileage increases to only 7-7.5kmpl...overall...
and again they repeat the same thing when we asked them about this by saying that it will increase slowly after the 2nd and 3rd service...well it did increase...but only to 8-8.5kmpl overall...and we cudnt even get an lpg kit retrofitted bcoz they sed that the warranty will become void...

the plastics arent great either...but wat cud one expect after buying a 1400cc car for less than 4 lacs...
the power windows are another shitty drawback...they get stuck all the time...
the central locking system isnt any great shakes either...
there are some good things about this car too...
      the pick up is phenomenal...
the engine sounds like a ferrari when it is raced..vrooommm
the ac is damn powerful...u can get chills sitting in the back seat with the fan on at only one ka speed...
power steering is just perfect...not too hard...not too soft....
and the best part is that theres loootssss of space everywhere...u will never feel uncomfortable in this car...and if the front seats are fully pushed in the front...then it ppl like yokozuna can also fit in this car...
the boot is faily large...and is well equipped...
well all in all if u want to surprise a rash driver my nothcing up ur speed and going after him/her...this is the best car ..coz its a hatch and its cheap..and its pretty fast...
i know u guys wont believe it but i won a against a porche in an outrun race on marine drive and my car was doin 145kmph without any hitch...mayb i was lucky..the driver of the porche must be driving in the second gear or sumthing...haha

looks good, good power steering, being a cheap car..pick up is good, feels like a sedan while drivingprone to scratches on the bumpers due to round shape on all side...CRAPPY MILEAGE...

Hi to my readers, Its been about 1 1/2 yrs since i got my 1st car on my own.  Its an INDICA V2 DLS turbo.   My Dad’s previous cars are Maruthi 800 and his current car Santro and not to forget my very fisrt car which got me the License to DRIVE “Standard 10".  Coming back to indica.  They way i look at is you get what you pay for, and no complains i got what i paid for.  Since this is what i can afford, and i'm happy and contended with.  I've clocked about 15K + over this period and had a long haul from Chennai to cochin and back..without a glitch and very often i take the car on long haul between Chennai to Chidambaram and also down south.  I get a modest mileage of about 19-21km/ltr with occasional AC on, as my driving in the highway stood between 90 to 110 kms and city between 30 to 50 kms.  I spend a good lot of time shining my little bird and giving a good care and treating it as my pal.  My only feel is that TATA"S could have put some decent interiors which i really felt its FAR below standards. Lot of people criticised about my decision but i stood since I can only afford that...beggars cant be choosers as the saying goes and i wanted a family car that would take me to places and also give me a worth for money.   Well i really loved AVEO UVA style and was talking to my wife about buying one but only money constraints.  Affordability is one thing and liking is another.  I wish they bring crossover car's like HHR (Chevrolet) or PT cruiser (Chrysler) which I would love to see on the Indian roads as it looks more macho and more aesthetic and something that i would cherish and love to own one in the due course if they ever get launched in Indian market.  I’m sure the competition and the general people’s mind set would change forever if Chevrolet or Chrysler brings in crossover cars like HHR or PT cruiser.  I would rather have opinion poll conducted by Chevrolet to launch such vehicle as it would stir a new competition in the crossover segment as we only have Ford Fusion (not a full crossover) in that segment.

You get what you pay forVery ordinary interiors.
