Exterior It is a totally subjective point. Personally i kind of like it more than how the XUV Looks (Now looks dated even with the 2018 facelift) Hexa gives a little sense of european SUVish cross over feel. I like the kind of flowing design and how the 3rd row window is not just a straight line and is trying to do something better but at the same time that cheap chrome plastic that says HEXA looks horrible. The front is basically seems like the TATA ARIA facelifted to this and the rear looks kind of boring even with the LED taillights. They don't seem to feel very classy or rather don't feel like they belong to car of this price range.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) I'll just get off 3 things quickly out of the way so this review isn't longer than my ISC exam essay.
Features- IT'S LOADED (But some might miss a sunroof) PS. The infortainment system has a puny screen which would look in something like ZEST or Tiago but looks out of place in the Hexa. Fun Fact- The AC vents have such a big housing around it and cause a big enough bump on the dash to make the screen look even smaller and it already is.
Space & Comfort- Well if your house needs repairs, you can shift to the HEXA for sometime or even forever. There is enough space to lie down, roll, playing football with a couple of friends and host a party too!
Well jokes aside, the interior has tons of space. Even the 3rd row is well sized to fit 5feet 8ish inch people comfortably. Long highway runs can feel a little tiresome due to soft cushioning but over all feels very airy (Thanks to big windows).
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine performace- Adequate for city and highway use but if seeing numbers is your thing then it makes 154 bhp and 400NM of torque.
Fuel Economy- Expect somewhere around 10-11 kmpl in the city because it is a heavy car and for the 4 wheel drive variant, expect something like 9-10 in stop go traffic. Highway drives can get you somewhere around 15-17 kmpl but then again it all depends on how you drive.
Gearbox- Personally not a very big fan of it. The throws are long and kind of spongy (Drive one and you'll know).
Ride Quality & Handling Ride Quality & Handling- Soft suspension is good for indian road conditions where it absorbs most of the bumps for on the high when driving around and about 120 ish, it gets bouncy. Which is incredibly annyoing to me. Plus WHY CAN'T TATA STOP THE WIND NOISE AND ALL SORTS OF RATTLING SOUNDS. I drove a test car which has 100kms on the ODO and it was bad. It really didn't feel like a 20L car. So I thought to myself that maybe the test car had issues so I borrowed a friend's Hexa and similar results. So keep that in mind.
Final Words Honestly, it seems like TATA is trying too hard to improve its design and trying to implant the idea in people's mind that they are way ahead from the bad quality days. Hexa being their flagship product, They tried their best but i'm afraid the competition is way ahead (Tucson & Compass).
I don't think it's worth the price but then we'll always have TATA fan boys (The fact that they have any many me cry) to support anything and everything. :).
Areas of improvement Build quality and over all fit and finish.
The chunky design and the overall improvement in the built of the car.The interior is just plain simple boring. Cleap plastics. Rattling nature of TATAExterior/Styles

Hello All I am happy to own this XTA Automatic, Arizona Blue. Superb. I travelled 900+KM side (Mumbai to Surendranagar) and Back. AMAZING. I am part of TATA by profession and really feel proud to own this car. Very comforable and give very good milage when you are going on highway Cruize Control works perfectly fine and all is well. Getting ready for 2000 km drive in Dec'18 (Mumbai to Bhuj and Back) with 7 people on board. Self drive is pleasant for me. More Review soon. Thank you TATA for bringing this piece on ROAD.
