I have driven this car now for over 25000 kms and in one go, I have driven it for more than 1100 kms and believe me its best in Comfort car and best in mileage keeping in mind the size and engine of the car. In one trip, I drove for more than 5700 kms and my meter reading shown mileage of 18.7 including City. Moreover comfort which you receive in Tata Harrier on long drive is beyond words. In terms of maintenance, this car can compete any hatch back cars from Hyundai or Ford. In short this is definitely value for money car and I am proud owner of Tata Harrier owned by Indian company.
It's an absolutely amazing car with tremendous road presence.. when you sit in it you feel comfortable as well as feel robust and solidly built SUV. Mileage is also very good if you drive in the highway on eco will get you about 19 kmpl city traffic average is less about 9 kmpl.. Choose safety, better ride handling and legendary platform over the gimmicky and one-time use feature like a tablet on the wheel my friend owns a hector is nowhere near to harrier in ride and handling that you will use whenever you drive the car that's the most imp thing
Taken 5 Harrier Together @ Ahmedabad . Was impressed with look and build quality of Harrier so took Top Model Dark Edition from AMD Cargo Motors.
Few Pros n Cons
Pros
1) Superb Build Quality , You need to double check the Door its closed or not . Impressive Build Quality
2) On Highway, at Speed of 80 to 90, got average of 17 to 18.3, it is really impressive for Automatic. I think manual may have more
3) Interior and Backside Seat and space is amazing , First drive to 600 km and out of 600 km almost 400 km 6 adult were seating in car with little adjustment. Very good boot space. It is much much comfort for 5 Adults
Cons
1) Looks like car is moving towards left side sometimes
2) in Slow Mode when click on Brake or move tyre than some noise comes
3) In City , average is approx. 10 km/l.
Over all , Value for money, Must Buy.
I have bought this car 2 months back from Hartron motors, Gurugram. I was trying to buy this car as I have read a lot of reviews and news on Carwale, I was clear at my doubts about this car & let me tell you one thing when I took a test ride of this car, trust me completely fall in love. but still, my problem was the same (budget). I was looking for a discount as it's almost 20 lakhs (Dark Edition). I requested to agency manager they given me a discount of 70k in the festive season. (Diwali). Really happy with Hartron motors, Gurgaon services the way they helped me. It's an amazing product from Tata motors.
I have been driving this car since Oct month (800 km), The feel of Tata harrier is really smoothy and fresh. Yes, the part where most people simply fall for. It got something unique that shows presence on the road which does look like a beast (Dark Edition). Performance is also fadooo boss !! I have enjoyed the sporty mode, the pick-up it's giving is extremely powerful.
I didn't notice any pros until now: Yeah, but the price should less by 1-2 lakhs. :) The customers look in the end pockets. :)
i HAD PURCHASED TATA HARRIER BLACK EDITION XZ MODEL ON 5TH JAN. LATER ON I HAD OBSERVED THAT THE BLUE TOOTH IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY AS I WAS UNABLE TO TALK WHILE DRIVING. THE SOFTWARE WAS UPDATED BY THE SERVICE CENTRE AND THE PROBLEM IS INCREASED AS THE DISPLAY SCREEN SHUTS OFF ANYTIME ANYWHERE ALONGWITH THE SPEEDOMETRE. THE TATA TECHNICIANS ARE UNABLE TO UNDERSTAND THE PROBLEM AFTER 5-6 VISITS IN THERE SERVICE CENTRE. I M FACING THE PROBLEM FROM LAST ONE MONTH AND NO ONE IS TAKING CARE OF THE PROBLEM. MY NAME IS CHETAN FROM JAIPUR 7413000001
Am owning Hyundai kia and nexon. I had lot of issues with hyundai. kia had lot of technical problems and servicing will hit your pockets very badly. Nexon I completed 1 lakh km. Apart from timely maintenance, I have not faced any issues. Few wear and tear parts still can be improved, but lot better than maruti, hyundai and kia. Amazing engine performance. That was the reason I opted to buy harrier. Amazing experience with new car but there are few issues with service dealers. Not upto standards and availability of service stations. Not distributed across have to go to major cities. servicing will eat away two days of my working. They wont respond properly, KHT motors having monopoly. No competing service providers so they are rude. They don't bother even on complaints company also don't respond properly. In long away this will be a set back for tata motors at present only reason should for not buying tata cars will be service issues..
Worth of money. Exterior and comfort wise it was very good car. And second more important thing is trust on Tata product. Tata car is return segment on New direction towards land rover and jaguar. Tata harrier is New look super spacious car. Now again India will buy a Tata cars. Really it's worthy to buy Tata harrier.
Driven 282 km got front brake disc pad issue worst squkeeing sound very loud gave vehicle for issue to resolve the issue they have taken 8 days to replace the a brake pads .worst service experience from top management they work snales pace now I am one of disappointed Tara car owners. Never suggest tata to anyone
Very good car but clutch is very hard, keep a driver or go for automatic at the cost of more money and less mileage. Rest safety style mileage all are good, no major complaints, driven about 30000 kilometers.
Buying experience of this car is good because 6-speed automatic gearbox works superbly at low and medium speeds, smoother and more refined, massive panoramic sunroof, punchy to drive, the new Harrier 2020 is a cleverly better package than the previous Harrier and is more compelling to buy. Ride quality is outstanding in this segment, a little firm at low speeds but once you pick up speed it steamrolls over everything. There is little bit body roll, but there is also good grip and you can carry rather high speeds through bends. Ride quality and handling is outstanding around the corners and highway stability is outstanding than the previous Harrier. Looks of this car are stunning and best in this segment, solidly build and the Harrier with its unique design and shades of Land Rover styling has already hit a sweet spot in the market. Performance of this car is amazing and it feels superbly off the block and quickly settles into a cruise. 6 speed Torque convertor doesn't feels jerky and you didn't notice it shift gears. It performs very well in city conditions, and when you venture out on the highway, the Harrier will hit three figure mark in no time and will also cruise at 100kmph at 2000 rpm. The improvement in performance is tangible and it reaches 0-100 in 11.25sec as against 12.24sec for the 140hp version. Servicing and maintenance of this car is very good and tata motors provide 5 year extended warranty for Rs 25,960 within 90 days of purchase and annual maintenance cost is around 40,000 for 5 years that's really good for big size SUV. The minimum distance travelled by Tata Harrier for 1st service is 10,000 kms and the estimated cost of 1st service is 4320, second service cost is around 5000, third is around 6000. There are some pros and cons of this car as follows:-
PROS:-
1.) Cabin space is really awesome at the front and at the rear and interior design and quality of materials using are good and feels very premium and genuinely top-class materials. Rear seat comfort is really outstanding and it offers best in class legroom, headroom, shoulder room, height, thigh support is best in class. Front seats get lumbar support which enhances better comfort for long drives.
2.) The Harrier large ORVM's and they create massive blind spots in the previous Harrier but this time Tata has reduced the size of ORVMs which are now sleeker and enhance outside visibility from the driver's point of view.
3.) Tata has improved the NVH levels, better refinement, and engine noise filtering has been reduced.
4.) Harrier continues to impress when it comes to riding and handling in good roads, bad roads and no roads, the SUV impresses with its setup that strikes a nice balance between comfort and being dynamically sharp.
5.) 6-speed manual and automatic feel smoother and slick to use but 6-speed torque converter automatic feels more energetic as compared to a manual transmission.
6.) Tata Harrier now gets a panoramic sunroof, power-adjustable driver seat, auto-dimming mirror, 9 speaker JBL system which boosts amazing sound quality, automatic climate control, rear AC vents at the window sides, Android Auto and Apple Car Play, connectivity system with 8.25 touchscreen infotainment system which enhances comfort for passengers.
7 ) Tata Harrier scores too much on safety and it includes Brake Disc Wiping, traction control, ESP, Hill Start Assist, Hill Descent Control, Roll Over Mitigation, Cruise Control, Speed Alert System, ABS with EBD, 6 Airbags, terrain response management (includes three different modes- wet, rough and dry which enhance better off-road capabilities), Corner Stability Control, Reverse Parking Camera and Sensor, ISOFIX child seats, Automatic Headlamps and Wipers.
9.) Tata Harrier is based on Land Rover D8 Omega Architecture platform and this platform derives better driving dynamics and torsional rigidity as compared to older platforms. Tata's impact 2.0 design theme with a higher set LED daytime running lights flanking a large Range Rover inspired grille. Tata Harrier has solid build quality. Doors shut with a prominent thud, good quality leather/plastics used in the interior too.
10.) The suspension, co-developed by JLR and Lotus Engineering, has the optimum balance between highway stability and off-road capability. The Harrier can dampen undulations and potholes very easily while offering enough space for five passengers.
CONS:-
1.) Fit and Finish is not great and we found the quality of some panels and fixtures to be not that great.
2.) Poor Rear Air Conditioning because rear AC vents are situated on the pillars. While they save up some legroom, the cooling efficiency is poor even on full blower speed.
3.) Use of handbrake is like an Aircraft which is chunky to use. Tata should try to come with Electronic Parking Brake in upcoming Petrol Harrier.
4.) The Harrier's Hydraulic Steering Wheel is a weak link. It has the inconsistent feel and is prone to a bit of torque steer. Steering response is not perfect as the compass steering because the compass steering wheel very much balance and feels very confidently on the highways.
5.) The drum brakes at the rear could do better feel too. They lack bite and excessive pedal which isn't great and Harrier stops quite effectively under hard braking. Tata Motors should try to think about the Harrier Braking Performance and should come with all wheels disc brakes.
6.) It misses some features such as all wheels disc brakes, Electronic Parking Brake, connected car technology, 360-degree camera view, front parking sensors, ergonomics could do better, dual-zone climate control.
7.) No petrol engine
