Exterior This car is the first one built to be a cross over (for those who compare this to scorpio, Innova) by one look it seems to be pretty simple to be a 12 lac car but with close viewing it grows on you. The front long headlamps give a rich feel and it feels huge to stand near the car and just watch it grow on u. Stand near it for 10 mins and you are bound to start loving it. The rear is also good given the proper shaped end unlike others, but the Tata's should this time consider changing their indica style.(even though the aria is a different one). Rear wiper and dual exhaust in the first model make it very attractive.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The interior is quite well done with a superb built quality, (if u compare the same with the closest rival Mahindra xuv500).Even though it dsnt have a whole host of features in the basic model like the xuv, still the quality of plastics used is much better in this car space is also a plus point.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The engine is quiet and nice and infact much smoother than the much spoken about Mahindra's.

Ride Quality & Handling It is better quality product giving both the comfort of a sedan and the feel of a SUV.

Final Words Its a grand package from the Tata stable.

Areas of improvement The basic model should have a little more features like the blue connect and controls on steering wheel. the ac should be climatronic for a 12 lac car.

      Exterior

Is tallest ,longest and has road presence , certainly an eye catcher.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

Good on Space , Six people can sit easily , comfortable for long drives, AC present on the second and third row. Reclining seats make the difference.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

good pickup , but mileage is unpredictable , gear throw is a bit hard .

      Ride Quality & Handling

Its a cruiser ,good suspension , but can feel the SUV body roll on turns ,not as prominent as the competitor. Does good speeds even with 6 people and does hold

      Final Words

A must buy car , dont go by the brand ... Tata is improving. leaves behind lot of big boy cars on the highway , excellent pickup

      Areas of improvement

soft clutch , but bit unpredictable , but nothing to worry about. Tata niggles and service are a gamble, initial turbo lag can be improved by using VGT

High speed stability, good breaksunpredictable mileage, right door rattling, Tata Service

With reference to the above TATA Aria Pride 4 x4, purchased on 16/06/11 and running Kms about 43,378, we regret to inform that,

We have purchase the super model car for about Rs. 18,50,000/- . We have believed that the car will be run trouble free for a minimum of 1,00,000 Kms and (or) up to the period of 36 months. We have paid the payment for extended warranty of additional 2 years also.

But unfortunately, we have cheated by the TATA Motors by selling very very poor quality car to us. The performance of the car is very worst. By seeing the history of the service details of the cars, we can understand about the quality of the materials and service provided by the TATA motors. we have done the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Service in time and within the Kms specified by the TATA Motors. But, we have attended the VST Motors, Trichy Service station for the running repairs, repeated repairs and for unsolved repairs as detailed below:

      1. Clutch plate worn out. Clutch smell

      2. Steering Wobbling

      3. Dust entering from Dicky door.

      4. Wiper spray not working

      5. Navigation problem

      6. Slow pickup

      7. Poor millage

      8. Beep sound

      9. Air bag indication

All the times, while we approach the TATA Motors for service, they have taken time of 7 to 25 days of  time and change some spares and deliver the car with out proper solution. With in 43,000 kms, the clutch plates were worn out about 4 times, and we have suffered lot. that is for each and every 10,000 Kms we have to change the clutch plate and spares for the amount of Rs.35,000/-  and wait at VST motors for 15 days.

As such, now the car completing its 2 years with so many great struggles, with a very low running kms of 43,000. Now, the big question raising is, how we have to run the car for at-least further 3 years period or up to 2,00,000 Kms. Now the car kms reading is 43378, and again the clutch plate worn out. The VST Service station, Trichy given an estimate for about Rs.42,000/- to solve the problems by changing the new clutch system. All are well known that the car is under warranty for 36 months or 1,00,000 Kms and we have paid the payment for extended warranty of further 2 years.

As such, we can’t pay the payment for the estimate given by the VST Motors.  We believe that the TATA motors will take immediate and effect full necessary action to solve the problems within 5 days.

At our experience with the TATA Aria car, the defects of clutch system, steering wobbling and navigation system can’t be solved. As such, as per previous requests please taken over the car by deducting the depreciation amount and replace a new such as TATA Sumo. We will very very thankful to the TATA motors, Other wise there is no other way, we have to approach the Honorable Consumer Court to pray justice.

      Exterior Good.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort Very good one can place 12 one lit water bottles at one time in door pockets.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Very good considering the weight of vehicle

Ride Quality & Handling Good and no panic to stop the vehicle at any given speed even at 160kmph.

Final Words I purchased aria pride 4wd in 2012 feb and now i crossed 150000(one lakh fifty thousand) and I may be the only one in entire india who have crossed that mark. so far, I have driven in worst roads of india and at the same time drove the vehicle on the best roads of india at maximum speed. now, I can authentically say this is the best car ever produced by indian auto company. no rattles so far, no problem and nothing,ENGINE still going strong as brand new. I have seen a lot bad bashing about aria in net. i feel 95% might not have at least drove this vehicle for thousand kilometres. so far no body really used aria's potential like me. three people can sleep in back, folding down rear two rows, with comfort like home with all the luggage in long distance travel. now, I purchased aria pride for another comfortable two years journey along with the bonus of best secured safety and vehicle protection in case of accident.

Areas of improvement Bigger wheels for looks.

Good fuel economy, maximum comfort, road handling, 3people sleep folding down rear 2 rows with comforNothing note worthy so far

Exterior premium body line great road presence front needs to be better. Painting job excellent considering all cars in this segment. .really very desirable feel except front look. Tata should rethink on providing indica like fronts for beautiful beast like this, also doors should be made little more sturdy. I had alraedy owned safari..& can see better changes in aria but still improvement needed.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Best interiors compared to any car...black colour of dash helps itself keeping clean...& after 55000 kms no sound from anywhere ...about space you get best legroom, shoulder room head room at all three rows..I had been driving aria myself ..& even after 600kms a day didn't had any tiresome feeling. ..also interior gives you a little feel of sitting inside range rover.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Almost every body is familier to 2.2 L engine from fiat.. but tata's engineers have done fabulous job with some latest gimmicks as you can make this car going in second gear straight way  from idle..also you reach100 kmph very easily at 2100 rpm in ffith gear..overtaking on any road is really pleasing..I m getting overall fuel economy of 15 kmpl in my journey of 55000 kms...on mumbai expy highway i have tried diving aria at different speeds. .& got fuel economy highest at 20 kmpl while driving at constant 90 kmph. Which no other MUV will give..highest speed tried & achieved by me is 170Kmph though aria was able to roar past it i just stopped going further..i have driven aria in all terrains including ooty, kanyakumari, entire konkan, very bad roads of marathwada in maharashtra..further to mention expy ways, ruthless city traffics & arias best engine has always won..

Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality on every terrain is best ...no bumps are felt inside car on any road..at 100 kmph you can take lonavala ghat turns without any doubts in mind...surprisingly you even dont feel high speeds when you see out of window while driving...i have driven this car for 800 kms in single day from karad to banglore to mysore last diwali & no body from my family felt tiredness. ....I had been owning 2013 aria & 2010 chevy captiva since last 1.5 years both vehicles are driven by me ..aria is driven for 55ks while captiva is driven for 40ks...aria beats captiva in every department. ..mileage , driving pleasure, maintenance. .aria maintenance cost of aria for 55ks is  no more than regular service costs i.e. around 50000 r.s. till date while for captiva a total of rs. 176000...

Final Words This is best car under 2500000 bracket...but faced such stringent present time because of some bull shit service dealers...TATA please make ur service dealers more attending & caring for customers cars.

      Areas of improvement NA.

Best comfort..rugged suspension best engine optimisation fuel economy reliabilityBit of door noise.

Exterior Tata has done a good job, but should improve on the door etc. joints the sides, rear shape and tail lights the side mirrors attachment tothe main body front grill.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Not much option in the interior colours, pastel colours would be esthetic, artistic fully loaded features good. The roof cabins are flimsy and one too many and may require frequent repairs.and anything slipping and falling may distract the driver, the second row seats should have been like in sienna with space at one end to reach the rear seats. the rear seats are crampy and not of much use.in long journeys one will definitely develope cramps ets. the controls on the steering rib especially on the right hand side are too close to 2.10 am hand position.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox On the test drive I found it smooth and assuring. Tata has improved on safari. no vibrations, jerks etc...

      Ride Quality & Handling Good.

Final Words It is the finishing that matters. Ofcourse india has started much latter than the west, but indians have proved that they can give better products if they apply mind body. But how many times we apply ourselves without scathing remarks. On road price shoud have been around 15.oo lakhs. for 15.oo lakhs one gets a better finished vehicle in US.eg. sienna.there is a talk in india that resale value of tata vehicles is poor when compared to vehicles like innova. I have a owner driven safari of 35000 km and the market is not even half its purchase price. where as our innova sells for a better price. the difference must be in durability.

Areas of improvement Better finishing exterior, side and rear shape ( could be like safari ), the 2 nd row seats and the rear seats, controls on the sttering, the interior colours. and the price.

      the drive,,front seats,ground clearence,turning radiusthe rear & middle seats, interior colours,exterior joints

Exterior I m very much impressed with the exterior look of aria, its totally a different product of Tata.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Very spacious, enough for two people on the third row, i feel comfortable even after driving 1010 kms on a single day, ac is good.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is very good, it siuts my taste, fuel eco ok it gives me around 11.5, but if u drove on 100kmph u will definitely get 12.5.

Ride Quality & Handling Its very free to handle , excellent road grip and brakes, but riding over 160 kmph u feel slightly out of control till then its really a pleasure to ride.

Final Words Over all its a good product from tata even the price when i bought on december 2011 its ok for me i got it for 11.5 lacs on road during the offer so its ok for that class, the main reason why i bought aria is i wanted a vehicle which should not be gone for taxi as innova will be owned by a millionaire as well as a taxi driver and i have driven around 18000 km in the past ten months very few vehicles (skoda rapid, volkswagen jetta) have overtaken me on NH no innova,xuv500, scorpio, xylo has ever crossed me in that way i m proud to be a owner of Aria.

Areas of improvement Tata should think of improving in the quality of the plastics they use for interiors i feel that they worked on engine, performance etc but they fail to look in areas like quality plastics, roof boxes, rear sensors in the pure version, and the audio controls in the steering wheel (the main reason why i went for pure version on a test drive of pleasure version on every turn the songs changed as ur fingers touch theswitches in the steering wheel).

Exterior is very good, engine performance is excellentPoor quality plastics, toooo much boxes on roof

      Exterior NOT GOOD.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) VERY LESS COMFORT.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox VERY VERY POOR PERFORMANCE.

      Exterior

I bought my TaTa Aria in May 2013. Before buying, i did test drive - Innova, XUV 500 as well as Aria. The Exterior of Aria is best in its categeroy. I believe non matches the same.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

In last one year, i have driven the car approx 20000 Kms. I found it most comfortable car with loads of space.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

Engine Performance is perfect, with fuel economy of 12.5 Km / Ltr on highways and in Mumbai city around 10.5 Km / Ltr. Till now, have no issue with gear box, its smooth.

I bought Tata Aria purely on its merit. I travel a lot and my drives are sometimes Inter State. I was looking for a SUV  car with amazing look at affordable price and rich in feature. I found it all in Aria. Although, I was bit dissapointed with sales people initially, but once i got Aria delivery and with initial drive, I was happiest for my decision. The car got the great presence on the road. in last one year thrice i have driven it from Mumbai to Delhi and I never felt tired or uncomfortable driving my Aria.

I am proud to own it.

      Ride Quality & Handling

Its best and very smooth to handle.

      Final Words

      Areas of improvement

I feel Tata Motor Should Train there Sales and Service people to handle their customer proper, more humanly and address there problems. It need to improve a lot on service front, which is not of world class standard.

Great look, decent fuel economy, spaciousService

Aria is a feature rich crossover from Tata motors. I had the opportunity of driving this beast for about 10 days recently and got to explore it a bit.
Aria’s armory of features: Aria Pride had a series of features
      ·         Cruise control is nice to have on a highway.
      ·         Red colour foot lamps in all doors instantly reminded me of Mercedes Benz J. Useful when getting in and out of the car in night.
      ·         Reverse camera is cool and makes parking easier. This is more practical than Merc’s parking sensors which beep if anything comes too close or Xylo’s mirror mounted indicator which shows the gap between the vehicle and an obstacle.
      ·         Rear door wiper runs automatically when in reverse gear
      ·         Steering mounted audio controls are cool. But this means driver will have to deal with additional commands by the passengers to increase or decrease volume or change track. Accidental pressing of these button can also spoil the fun
      ·         Instrument panel is fully loaded and shows almost everything except may be the latest cricket score. Aria gives very specific indication as to which door is open, while Scorpio VLS I’d tried used to just say “One of the door is open”, forcing people to open and shut all doors till the warning stops.
      ·         Electrically folding external rear view mirrors are also nice. When stuck in a narrow road trying to give way to an oncoming vehicle, I enjoy seeing the expression on the driver of the other vehicle as Aria’s mirrors fold on their own (of course I need to press a button) to get some space
      ·         There’re lot of roof mounted storage bins. My passengers hardly used them.
      ·         Ground clearance is good. At 205mm, it is 25mm more than XUV500, Scorpio, Xylo and Innova, just short of Ford Endeavour by 5mm. With its low body design, Aria is easier for elderly people to get in, compared to other SUVs.
Windows roll up or down completely with one touch. No need to keep it holding till it rolls completely
      ·         Rain sensors are cool. Wiper speed gets adjusted depending on rain intensity.
      ·         Follow me home lamp is useful. You can turn on the headlamp by pressing a button on the remote controlled key
      ·  Top of the line variant gets auto lighting- can adjust light intensity depending on darkness outside. Again sounds like a BMW/Merc feature and is cool to have in a under 20 lakh car.
      ·  Ability to switch between 4x4 and 4x2 on the go is cool. Shift happens without any hitch.
We drove for about 2888 kms and got a fuel economy of about 12kmpl. It is a nice vehicle but the price tag is what could have hindered its sales, besides a proven dislike for crossovers in India. (other crossovers like Skoda Octavia Combi, Baleno Altura, Siena Weekend, Indigo marina etc do not have great success story)
Let me know what you think of the aria
