Money guzzler

Bought this car in 2014 August. Has very charming looks and presence. Definitely, a car which can hold its elegance no matter how old. For a family of 3 its barely sufficient, very cramped in the rear. Coming to the drive comfort its good however for someone tall the leg space to operate the clutch and brakes is insufficient. The engine is responsive, does not struggle and can provide the acceleration when required. Coming to my woes it started after 2 years of use. That is when maintenance overtakes you. Visits to service will start costing you 15k, 20k and up . Even small things will cost you big lights, horn etc. Weakest and most vulnerable things are lock carrier which breaks often and is made out of flimsy plastic, given the low clearance you are bound to break it often. Then worst part are the VW service guys they will fleece to the core .I had my gear which was a little bit tight, they diagnosed it as gears worn out and replaced the whole gear assembly and charged me a bomb. Any complaint means replacing the whole part plus few more to make the most it . I just did 90k service refusing any other service recommendations, it still the cost is 13k which is very high. All in all its expensive to maintain, costs keep escalating as years go by. It should have been the good reliable car to keep for years and years but unfortunately, VW service will spoil the name.
