      Exterior Its a car designed brilliantly.. The design is very simple and will appeal for a decade... The design is not as futuristic as i20 or Jazz or as classical as Punto. Its mixed with future and classic.. A simple word to describe about Polo design is "A CUTE AND NEAT CAR" in the segment.... Build Quality is excellent.. Fit and finish impeccable. No other cars in the price range can't match with Polo in   terms of Build Quality, Fit and Finish. Paint quality is top notch, Note the Wheels are fitted with 5 bolts usually 4 in other cars(BUILD QUALITY).... Enough ground clearance... But the Front bumper is too low as compared to other cars, Chance to get damage.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) COME IN YOU WILL GET SURPRISED, IS IT SMALL CAR?  Yes Absolutely this is not a small car when you see the quality of materials used Brilliant!!! S for this price we cannot get this good quality car from any another manufacturers. The front seats are very good and ideal for long drives. The boot is enough to load some 2-3 days 4 persons trips.. All the Power Windows are one touch operation First in the segment

      NEGATIVES: The main problem lies inside the car, that is rear seat space.. Simply it is cramped.. But it's slightly better than Swift. As compared to Polo the i20,Vista,Fabia and Jazz is better option, Some necessary features like Climate control,Electric Adjustable Mirrors are absent. Only one Glove box is available.. Its big and more then enough.. But its good if they add a small box for coin holders(The coin holder in glove box is not useful, will create sounds in driving) The Dashboard is bit a high and the Steering reach/rake lever touches the driver's leg. The Front Driver side wiper is placed wrongly.. We cannot release it to clean the windshield. The wiper touches the Bonnet.. If we want to release the wiper we want ti open the bonnet.. Which is an irritating one... For Highline spec the tyre is 185/60 R15 but the spare tyre is 170/65R14(MISMATCH WILL CREATE SOME PROBLEM TO CARS LIFE) We cannot place the 15 inch tyre in the spare tyre place.

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The engines available in the car are not the best in the segment... when i test drive the diesel car the engine has large amount of clatter and its clearly audible inside.. Very bad... Even the petrol has Vibrations and noise but the noise is well insulated.. but the vibration is there in the dash and gear lever.

      My car is petrol Only 500 kms driven. The engine noise is there.. But its not to bad. the noise is well insulated. Nowhere near to Jazz or Swift(BEST IN THE SEGMENT IN TERMS OF REFINEMENT) The polo surprises in the way of driving. The car pulls even from 30 in 5 gear. It's very helpful to drive in and around city very little gear changes. 

      Now I drives the car without A/C and below 60kmph.. So it returned 20kmpl.. I reached 25.5kmpl as the top Believe me It's true. Gearbox is an absolute gem very light and precise. other cars are away from Polo. The performance is decent.. It cannot compete with the Swift or Jazz in terms of performance.. Polo scores in the Driving Experience  

      Ride Quality & Handling

      Ride quality is awesome. It has very good handling (not as fun as Swift). The car tackles all the potholes in the road. .What u can feel is that U are sitting in a class above car. As I drove the car in 60kmph I can't say about high speed stability. Its easy to handle the car in the city. The steering is very light and weights when it corners a bit hard. The car is good to handle the Indian roads.

      Final Words

      The VW has a winner in its hands. VW is in the competitive market..  There are so many rivals for Polo, What I recommend for new buyers is wait for some month and get a brilliant car. This car will create lots of memories. U can own this car for life time without any trouble.

      Areas of improvement The Polo lacks in the Engine department and left out some essential features for the price, VW priced the Polo correctly(Diesel Polo is priced high not as good as SWIFT OR FIGO), VW should consider seriously to deliver the car as quick as possible otherwise pupil will go with some other cars as plenty of options are available.

      Need to improve the engine (Add a cylinder and add 10 bhp for both the engines), Rear seat space (improve the wheelbase about 30mm), Correct the diesel car price(A bit high), Deliver the Car quickly, Adjust the Wiper, Change the spare tyre to 15inch for High line spec.

      UPDATION:

                REALLY Super car...  Now I drives the car at 3 digit speeds also... Braking is excellent. At 100KMPH the stabilty of the car is super...(above 100kmph I didn't drive the car) U can't find that the car is going at 100 kmph without seeing the Speedo...  Now my car gives a good mileage  its 17 in full tank check.. The car drives mostly in 4th gear.. For that 17kmpl is excellent....

      Exterior Superb exteriors. I got a black beauty. The truly black one which is absolutely seamless, no breaks in the exterior. Excellent headlights. Everywhere the German engineering excellence shows. The little things - chassis number is visible through a glass in the front, the rear opener thru the VW handle (I found this really cool). Looks like a large car. Tough, heavy doors which give a feeling of security.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Again the little things stand out - central locking which can be opened from inside, nice pleasant colors inside, good seats (not too soft, not too hard). I did 700 km in 3 days and did not have a back pain (unlike the earlier one which shall remain unnamed). It screams functionality and elegance everywhere. The lights come on very softly, without a click. My Son, who is all of 6ft sat at the back for 350 KM and did not complain of cramps, tha is how good the sapce inside is. Whether it is the high speeds on the highway (I did touch 140) or the ball breaking speedbreakers of bangalore, you dont feel a thing, esp the latter. The car handles very nicley. The only disquieting issue was at lower speeds, there is a bit of a noise from the engine, i.e. till about 25KMPH, aftet that you dont hear a thing. The music system is also very finctional and very very elegant.

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox I got an economy of around 11 in the city and around 17 on the highway. The gear is smooth, really smooth without any of the jerks that I have seen in cars of this size.

      Ride Quality & Handling Excellent ride quality and superb handling, esp in the thick traffic in the city, the steering is very responsive, without being too slippery. After the first 100 KM, you can actually feel the sterring responding to every single action of yours almost instantaneously.

      Final Words The only problem with the VW is the absolutely horrendous buying experience. Now, I dont know whether it is by design or accident, but the dealer is the God (not even the company, mind you). They made my buying experience so frustrating and horrible that I was forced to write to the Managing Director of the company and am still waiting for an answer. The staff is rude, untrained and totally and absolutely unprofessional. The other thing VW may want to look at is a process of escalation. For instance, if you want to talk to someone in VW, you cannot.. you get to a call centerwho tell you what they are told to say 'we will get back to you' 'we have passed on your complaints to the appropriate authorities' etc.

      This is one area where VW has stumbled, and badly. So much so that I think committed buyers like me will think twice before going in for another VW (I was considering the Jetta for self), due to the attitude.

      Just to recap the words of a famous ad 'when you make a great car, you dont make a great fuss' in selling it.

      Purchased Polo highline two years back but post sales service is really bad particularly in Kolkata. They promise and advertise good things but never fulfil that. Their service center is in a horrible location where you will not find any vehicle to get back to main street. I was at their service center and heard other customers also and they all have the same problems and complaints. I was surprise to see they rate themselves as five (5)  stars and when when I questioned their supervisor he mentioned it just happended today but my previous service experience was also the same at the same location.

      Volkswagen Brand Name may be good but their product is not as good in India and post sales service is horrible, maybe they do not have any competition and they don't care how harrassed the customer is. I am sure if their service continues like this future does not look good for Volkawagen in Kolkata.

      I normally do not write reviews but really bad experience with their service for third time prompted me to write this and I would warn people to think twice before buying a Volkswagen

      My first drive was really a long drive... from delhi to surat. n did enjoyed it a lot. As most of the time i was driving through highway (although at speeds more than 80 kmph) i got 15.9 kmpl on average. 

       

      Exterior Overall looks and especially the paint quality is quiet good. I love its rear styling and strong lines on the sides.

       

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Dash in night is candy to watch with blue face plate & orange backlit buttons. Cubby holes seems to be nicely designed.

       

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Gearbox is top notch and engine does perform fairly well. Fuel economy is quiet good for a 1.2 L engine. Performance is not as good as new Swift K series engine although you will not feel bad about that and would enjoy to leave others behind on highway with ease.😊 Good news... does not vibrate like swift at 140 kmph.

       

      Ride Quality & Handling Very good at high speeds, might disappoint you in bumper to bumper traffic due to its low clutch. Big side rear view mirrors is a great help at times but internal RVM is a disappointment.

       

      Final Words Just go for it. 'll not disappoint you.

       

      Areas of improvement Space for rear passengers. Should modify clutch for bumper to bumper traffic. Aux/ USB port for Music system.

      I bought the new POLO 1.2 Petrol Highline a month back from BU Bhandari Pune. Just finished 1200 KM. Hope this will be helpfull to propsper buyers.

       

      Exterior Classic exterior especially front spoiler like strcuture at front bottom looks very aggressive. Car is aerodynamically designed from outside.

       

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interior is very cool. Driver space I am not quite comfortable. your knees always brushes with dashboard if you are about 6 feet in height. Boot space is just awesome.

       

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is very noisy from outside. Engine Noise inside with AC is quite OK. At high spped its very superb. even you will not notice the engine noise and vibrations above 50 kmph. The car just changes to flight above speed of 70-80 on highways.

      Fuel Economy In pune city and Kothrud area it gives me about 14-15 and in the morning on highway to Hinjewadi (without any traffic) it gave me about 19-20 kmpl for petrol 1.2. I have observed top mileage of 21.5 on the display which shows mileage for every 100 mtr (off course during morning and on highways). I am quite sure on Pune Mumbai Express way this will give you mileage above 20.

       

      Gearbox Buttersmooth, in the handbook thay have suggested not keep hand on gear knob other than the gear shifts as this may rough its connectors : this tells that how smooth it could be.

       

      Ride Quality & Handling Just Superb. I had ride on road near Sarasbaug Pune during evening on Chaturthi, which was highly crowded but this machine did not created any fatigue. It was just seamless. I have also drove it on village bumpy roads but the suspension is very good and it gives you feel of driving any big luxury car.

       

      Final Words I will say its very good car to own for long term perspective. Its very comfortable and gives rich feeling and good mileage. I am very satisfied with the service and communication from BU Bhandari Pashan Pune. They are very attentive and helpfull throughout the process. They made the car available withing few weeks and well before their commitment. 

      Finally : Few days back I lost (stolen) my front VW logo which gave me feeling of I own luxurious car :)

       

      Areas of improvement Do something about engine noise. I had reported this issue to company through website. I got immediate call from dealer's workshop to see the car. I did visit there but no help. They are saying its due to three cylinder inline cylinder.  Also I had complaint of logos getting stolen in Pune. VW monograms are easily removable. Company is saying they have taken the issue in there continuous improvement process. I was suggested to make it availabe at lower price since it will not have resale value but company expressed there inability to compromise on quality. Atleast they can manufacture it integrated with grill.

      This looks awesomehat his hatch is truly German and it is reflected from its look. Solid build , simple yet stylish.              

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

       As soon as you enter in the car it looks awesome . Class is the word that comes out as soon as you see the cabin. It is not flashy but elegant. The space is a bit less at the back. It also misses out at some of the must features for this segment and at this price point.

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

       it's performance is good, the pickup is nice and pulls nicely. 

      Ride Quality & Handling

      Pure driving pleasure,awesome. The sheer driving pleasure at this price point is something the German is appreciated for. The handling of this car is just like expensive and bigger cars. The steering is very smooth and the gear is butter smooth. Ride quality is the one of the biggest plus for Volkswagen polo.

       if you love to drive and like the quality this is the car for you.

      Nice and attractive exterior. I had compared this one with new micra (Nissan) and I20. finally i booked Polo specially due to VW image in market.

       

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

      Not comoftable (but acceptable), specially space is not enough. I would have appreciated more if its height and space more by 2- 3 inches. CD player does not have usb or Bluetooth. it is important features.

       

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

      VW engine is always good. just bought, not got delivery yet, expecting good perfomance. it is fuel economy. good milage specially when car is heavy compare to other small cars.  Gearbox is standard like rest of the cars.

       

      Final Words

      Worth to buy this car or i would not have gone for it. i had compared with many other small cars and if VW is expensive by rs.50,000 - 100,000 compare to other small car, this one is still better specially due its toughness. you really feel doors and other body parts are tougher then any other small cars.

      The designing of the vehicle is so perfect that it has the look of a real ‘Car’ and not like the funny shaped ones you see in the market these days. It is the very stylish look of the Volkswagen Polo that attracted me to buy one.

      The interior of the car has a very posh and elegant look. You do not have that cheap plastic look. It is very comfortable and the A/c is powerful.

      The 3-cylinder engine gives good power and mileage. I get around 15 km per liter. The gear shifting is butter smooth.

      The vehicle is very easy to handle and the suspension is so good that the ride is so smooth.

      I was very keen and enthusiastic about owning a Volkswagen vehicle for my personal use. Accordingly I purchased the “Volkswagen-Polo –Highline-Petrol” car about seven months back. In fact, I was proud to own such a famous branded vehicle at that moment, even though the cost of the vehicle was very high when compared to the cost of Indian made cars. The vehicle is seldom used, only for my joy ride. But my joy didn’t last long as I have found rusted particles falling down in the rear foot mat as and when the doors are opened or shut, due to corrosion. This is due to the rusted parts under the front seats.

      I don’t know how the German Car Manufacturer can compromise on material quality even though they claim to use High quality materials and attention to details. Having purchased such a costly branded car, you can imagine my anguish and sorrow, and it happened all within a short span of time.

      It has got a Fantastic Style. The interior has got a posh design. Good power with fuel economyLow quality Materials used. Many important features missing even in the High end vehicle.

      Exterior It is just beautiful. The entire shape is so nice, others are all about curves, and special design languages, but this car, IMHO, is just a timeless beauty. There are no panel gaps, no flaw on the entire body.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The music system has been upgraded and design is very nice. A reverse parking sensor has been added and display is on the music system screen. Simple and beautiful. No aux input is irksome as is the USB without an iOS support! The rest feel very classy, loved the feel. It feels like a rich place to be in.

      There are good storage spaces on this car; the boot in fact has more usable space than my dZire though the volume is lesser. A Bluetooth kit supplied with the car and works very well.

      The space however is good. I am almost six feet tall, and even with me driving, the rear seat passengers have decent space.

      The front seats are very good without doubt with good lumbar and thigh support. The seats are slightly hard and it is just fantastic on slightly longer drives and also very good for people with slight/any type of back problems like me. The rear seats are slightly short on thigh support, but still good enough.

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox If you keep an even throttle, then the engine is dead silent, highly tractable too – Excellent!! While accelerating, it almost feels like a sports car and above 2500 rpm also feels like one!!

      Fuel economy: on short drives (less than 3-4 kms), about 11-12 kmpl. However, on longer drives (more than 7-8kms), I have managed to extract upwards of 15kmpl and even 18.3 on a drive of 28 kms. The last full tank to full tank was during my sister’s wedding, during which period, I was always driving in peak traffic with the aircon on, and the average I got was 14.26 kmpl.

      The gearbox on this car is excellent, no false gears, ever. Just a word of caution, do as the owners’ manual says and only engage the reverse gear once the car is fully stopped.  

      Ride Quality & Handling The suspension is just amazing, no bumps felt at all. Drive reasonably and it feels a class above the other hatchback ride quality.

      The chassis is very stiff and rigid, and this translates to good handling. The steering is quite direct too, and the straight ahead position is not vague. The unit weighs up at speed and is quite a joy to drive. The turning radius is also very good, just less than 4.9m. Body roll is also very well contained. I believe in accelerating just after the apex of a corner and also take corners at high speeds. This car really gives me a lot of confidence to do so, the grip of the tyres is also very good.

      Final Words As I have mentioned before, I am in love with this car, and have a wonderful feel for it.This car deserves the high praise I am attributing to it.

      Areas of improvement  

      1.     Kindly add an aux support and iOS support to the music system.

      2.     Since this is a good car to use on the highway, an inbuilt GPS unit would be handy. I have one unit on the dZire (MapMyIndia – vx140) and it works really well.

      3.     Little more thigh support on the rear seats.

      4.     Electrically foldable OVRMs.

      5.     Cooled glove box.

      6.   Seatbelt warning.

      7.   Light in the boot.
