We bought an INDIGO CS LX TDI model two months ago.It's the topmost model with reference to features having a diesel engine.At the price of a hatchback it provides the following features - central locking, rear power windows lock, rear door lock, a powerful H.V.A.C.(Heater, Ventilation and Air Conditioner),good - looking interiors, electric rear demister, a L.C.D. panel in the instrument panel, audio warning for - driver's seat belt, key in entry, door open, and also power steering,etc.
BEST NOTICABLE FEATURES - The car's unique centralised power window winding switches' console(located in front of the gear shifting lever) helps to wind up/down windows as desired even when the driver is busy in driving, which is generally done by co-driver.The car exhibhits leather wrapped steering wheel and gear shifting lever(only on deluxe versions). With the built-in antenna, the car doesn't need any external antenna which is an aid to the car's outer styling(unlike many other cars which need an external antenna for catching radio stations, which may reduce their outer styling). There are bright fog lamps, & a number of other lights which are an aid when driving at night.A head-light levelling switch has also been provided; with the help of it the head-lights can be adjusted according to the load on the car. When it comes to shocker response this car does really very well, however, suspension makes some noise. When it comes to ground clearance, this does well like a SUV and is quite manuouvarble on the toughest of the roads. Plastic quality is average. Space in the car is greater than any hatchback's; however, there is not much space in the dicky, not as much as I desired; but that is another aid to the car's styling. Engine is powerful enough for speeding up the car to a maximum of 155 km/ph. The H.V.A.C. system (for reference see the first paragraph) is powerful, and cools down or heats up the car in a few minutes. However, one can hear the sound of the fans, which is at its loudest at 4th level. And when it comes to safety, the lack of ABS, EBD and Airbags make this car a little unsafe, and these are not even an option. Hoever, at such low price we must not complain over it, andthis has been cured with the launch of Indigo Manza.
REQUIRED IMPROVEMENTS - I would like to have- more soft and round edges in the interior of the car, and a choice of bright & beautiful colours both in exteriors and interiors.TATA should promote this car as it is so well built.
This car provides, in short, luxury of a sedan, style, and, the most important, comfort. All this at the rate of a hatchback!! And, when one summarizes the whole features of this budget-friendly family car, he/she gets only one word in his/her mind - awesome!
Buy it, you get everything you desire at a low cost.

I bought my Indigo CS TDI in Nov 2009 and had covered 17,000 Kms without any glitch even minor one. The car is one among the Best styled car's in India, a sheer pleasure to watch......Neighbour's envy, Owner's Pride. you cant hold your eyes on a single location on this curvaceous beauty as you are bound to slip.
Interior space is too comfortable for even five people and the boot space is uncomparable with any other car in the same price range.
The trims makes a lil noise now and then but its a small price for such a big car.
Engine is quite powerfull and will give most of the other cars a run for their money on a highway. takes time to pickup but afterwards u will just wonder where are the other cars on the highway. The mileage is what beats other cars....I am getting 16-17 in city and 19 on a highway...
Ride Quality & Handling are superb, the suspensions are truly designed for Indian road conditions and you will wonder why are the ither cars lagging in this area.
Just dont go by the market rumor's and contemporary salesmen jargons. This car is a pleasure to drive so go for a test drive before deciding.
Quality of trims and service staff (including marketing people) need a lot of improvement.

I bought Indigo CS LX 9th April 09 and clocked 750+ so for.
Wanted to go for big car (with space at back) and CS appealed me with its look.
After lot of debate whether to choose petrol or diesel finally decided diesel (my first diesel car). Feels nothing difference than petrol except the sound from engine (may be due to turbo).
The driving found comfortable except some tough in gear shifting. Also the exterior finish (like varying gaps at doors, improper seating of dicky cover at back, beeding at window glasses) to be improved (TATA has to match this with Maruti, Hyundai).
Interior is okay but (as told in all reviews for TATA cars) to improve to match with others.
The dealer response is good however still I am waitng for seat covers and full floor mats as I wish to buy these only from TATA dealer.
Fuel economy has to check and hope will give around 18 for Coimbatore Traffic. Seem slightly bumby may be due to its height and more ground clearance.
Space at inside can be better utlized for extra things like bottle holder etc similar to i10 or A-Star. Need Foldable center rest at back seat like Chevvy or other similar cars.
TATA can improve these little things to make the CS realy a SEDAN for people of all class.

Exterior Good looks with sleek design front light should be more powerful.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) comfortable, leg space is good, haven't the place for keeping bottles which is necessity now a days.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine performance is very good but have the noise problem, fuel economy is in my budget as it gives good mileage with air conditioner , gear box is smooth for new driver.
Ride Quality & Handling Ok but not very comfortable, power steering make drivers good in parking in small space. central locking is easier for single person as he doesn't have to lock each door.
Final Words Overall its good. taken good decision by buying this car. need some improvement in certain areas as mentioned below. being a TATA product its reliable affordable in terms of everything be it price fuel maintenance . good for long journey.
Areas of improvement Gearbox, back seat Air conditioner should be improved, seats are not very comfortable,power window switch are very down.

Exterior Good.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Fair, cannot say bad as per the price its good.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Fair engine feed back,18 kmpl.
Ride Quality & Handling Fair.
Final Words I had experienced a complaint after the next day of purchase.The gear box failed and replaced witha new one for my brand new car. The power stearing assy also failed after 13000kms and replced and it was in the warranty period and I had struggle a lot with the tata engineers to convince to replace it.After the 50000km service the car is providng only 14kmpl.had checked many times in service centre and now the car is 62000km,till now its not yet rectified.
Areas of improvement should take car about the insulation and rattling sounds. Try to give more sustainable quality parts. The swift in the same category also delivers more power and more mileage, why tata cant? Should take more particular in improving the quality of plastic and other engine parts. The service centres are not at all keeping any standards. Just behaving like a local worshop.
