Strong engine and excellent DSG gearbox but let down by pathetic after sales service

Exterior The car has a very executive look but has issues with the painting quality. Just after a couple of months I had a rear door with paint buldging out and I have been facing issues to get it covered under warranty for nearly year and a half now.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Well as far as the features are concerned it has almost all the basic features except for the Bluetooth and GPS navigation which is a must have in the present time. It also has other additional features like Tyre Pressure Monitoring(TPM) which is good but can also be misleading sometimes. The 6CD changer can't even play CDs with few scratches on them and the car also misses out on Paddle Shifters which would have been great for the fantastic gearbox it offers. Talking about the space, it has good space in the front but lacks space in the rear, also the central tunnel makes it difficult to seat 3 people at the back. Also the angle of the back seat is very upright making long journeys a pain. Adding to the discomfort is the stiff suspension making for a bumpy ride. I personally felt that it should have also included Sunroof for a car that costs nearly 24lakhs. Also I have faced problems with fuel gauge which used to drop to zero(inspite of the tank being full) out of the blues which can be intimidating at times specially when your out of town(This is an issue haunting quite a large number of people). I guess AC could have been a lot more effective as it fails terribly in hot weather conditions and Lauras are known for condenser failures.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is very strong with 140 BHP at your disposal but the efficiency of power delivery goes down over the period of time. Most Lauras(Thankfully not mine)out there on the road have issues with turbo, they tend to fail after a period of time and cost from 1.25lakhs to 1.75lakhs to get it replaced. Talking about the gearbox, the DSG gearbox is excellent with smooth gear changes and excellent gear ratios.

Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is not so good because of the stiff suspension setup but it has an advantage of good handling. 

Final Words Don't even think of buying a Skoda car, it has horrible after sales service and the dealers swindle their customers. Also the spare parts are very expensve and even though the fit and finish of the car seems good, it's not durable(Remember looks can be deceiving). I had to get my dashboard, headlights and horn replaced under warranty as it was defective and I am still fighting to get the paint defect fixed on my car. If you still want to go in for a Skoda car in Bangalore, it's better you get it serviced by Tafe Access than from Vinayak(not that Tafe's good, it's better than Vinayak atleast).

Areas of improvement It should be provided with basic features like Bluetooth, Sunroof, Paddle shifters and GPS navigation for a car that costs nearly 24lakhs onroad. Needs tremendous improvement in after sales service. Parts should be localized to bring down the cost. Stringent quality control measures should be taken to overcome the above said quality issues.
