Review after driving 250 kms
Positives:
Kushaq is nice to drive and feels modern and robust. Overall driving dynamics, ride, steering controls and sharp turn handling is class-leading. Feels too safe and pleasure to drive.
All important security features that we use and are mandatory for safe driving dynamics at 18 lac on-road makes it the best choice.
Skoda & VW group team has done a great job! The great levels of refinement and engineering that you get from this one litre engine is frankly pretty impressive.
Unique 2-spoke steering wheel (from Superb, Octavia)
Kushaq though has 385 litre capacity, it can easily fit the same baggage as Creta/Seltos which claims 400+ litres.
Carbon Steel paint finish looks very nice, upmarket and premium. - 6-speaker audio system is surprisingly crisp and with a decent subwoofer.
Cons you can live with :
The steering feels a bit too light even at high speeds and could've weighed up better for more responsive feel though controlling it is precise.
Yes, hard plastics - but that doesn't bother me.
The rear seat is best suited for two passengers - again who would prefer a 3 people for a long journey.
Cons that are really missing:
Rear disk brake.
Digital instrument cluster.
No 6 air bags other than 1.0 MT - this is illogical and stupidity.
Yes, priced 50k to 70k on the higher side - but performance, safety features (even in base models) and the driving experience of both 1.0 and 1.5-litre TSI variants somewhat justifies the price.
I highly recommend Skoda Kushaq for those looking for premium small and powerful compact SUV for its clean design, driving dynamics, safety features and the Skoda brand.
