      Hi All,

      iam writing this review after personally driving the car for 25 thousand kilometer in Bangalore and outstations like Mysore,ooty,coorg and Goa.

      I bought this used car when it had completed 27k kilometers and this coverage was done in 15 months.

      However it was mantained in mint condition.So first impression when you see the car it looks solid and well built and small.However the space and boot are highest in the segment and i can vouch my life for it comparing it to punto and i20.Interiors are classy and does look like a posh sedan look.

      Far superior than Swift  and punto and cannot compare it with i20 has have not seen the interiors properly of the i20,

      Gauge is of the metal is rock solid and you feel like sitting in a tank when close the doors when u compare it with wagonr,swift and i20.however swift and i20 are far better than wagonr but it comes in diffrent segment altogether .

      Engine performance is very good and is responsive ,...however the rpm should be mantained and proper shifting of gears ...you have shift to lower gears as u slow down .however in swift u can clear in 3 rd gear while in fabia u have come down to 2 nd gear...but once u are above thrid..the engine rips as press the accelartion and you can touch 120 km in 20 seconds practically speaking ....and it glides at this speed at 120 km per hr with wondowns closed and AC on u do not feel u are travelling at that great spped...once u break u releaize u were at that high speed.the car is rock steady even at 140 km per hr but tend feel slighit vibration that is very very negibile and more ompartanly u fele safe even at that high speed...we have over taken scropios and Swift on high ways with relative ease .to mention scrpio is unstable after 100 km per hr vehicles tends to shake because of its aero dynamics.....Swift can be close comettior to race past u but the car will not let u down in case u intend to go past and you the skill.

       

      Mileage:

      13 km in bangalore traffic (AC on )..i travel from banskari to mahadevpura via silk board ....bellandur and BTm ...uu can imagine the traffic...it mighit give 1 kilometer more without AC ..however i prefer with AC because when u close the windows and drive with AC on and soft music it pleaseure rather than the noise outside.

      Highways:16 with AC has given me 17 km sometimes...but average on a highway is 16 to 15.5 on worst roads respectively....

      Power steering is like very responsive and gear box is top notch it glides like knife in the butter ..no other car has this smoothness .....

       

      Go for it and stand out in crowd

       

      Service cost:

      the servicining is for every 15 k .....which like other cars is for every 5k or 10 k......

      cost after 15k  would be 8 to 9 k

      why:

      4000 engine oil (they put shell helix)--4 to 5 litres ..and other minor repairs with replacement...but this would not be there for first 2 years .....

      Average cost for servcing after 15k without oil change 3.5 k to 4 k with minor replacements..just servicing without oil change and minor replacements...2k

       

      As i travel with 100 % Ac because traffic noise and dust and pollution Ac becomes to be not so effective after 10 k ....but after service it quite normal...

       

      Go for it and stand out in the crowd...you will not regret and u will enjoy the drive

      Stay Away from their sales team.I purchased a Fabia on 11-11-2011 and was promised 3 years free servicing if I paid 18K extra. I paid the extra cash and they mentioned 3 yrs PMS on my service booklet.

      After an year when I reached the dealership for 1 service, these crooks come all out and tell me that anyone could have written this on service booklet. I then asked them to talk to their sales team.

      After few minutes on phone, one of them comes and says that they offered me wrong deal as it was not applicable to me. After sitting there for 7 long hours, issue was finally resolved and they accepted my car for service.But, when I asked them for a certificate for PMS or whatever scheme they had, I was told that I should contact sales team. After 3 follow-ups, I still do not have any proof that I purchased the damn thing.

      One more thing, they have 6 months free check-up (which is not free) in which they harass you by calling you 6 times a day to schedule an appointment. At that time, since they turn out to be too caring and annoying. Please stay away from them or be ready to face the consequences.

      As i already mentioned it was a used car..after buying i spend a lot of money in servicing..i changed turbo, clutch plate and now fuel pump.bt still the problem persists..suddenly it doesn't start and after servicing twice. the problem still occurs. its better to get a new car or else you should take a good mechanic with you while testing the vehicle before making a deal.

      everyone said it would cost. 5-6.5 lacs. but it seems its priced at around 8lacs (top end).

      ok so you have the audio jacks inputs, swingy sunroofs, heated hot looking mirrors lolz. cubby holes that are climate controled,and lots of other stuff.

      but i realized today that stuff comes at a price tag. and you have to decide. if you want this gizmos and comfort of just another big car for example the sx4 sedan.

      its a bigger car. dont wanna say it but looks cheaper(cant imagine having said this). gives 100 bhp. has full auto climate control. 16 inch alloys. looks macho. plus maruti  after sales service. and maintainence cost are less i think.

      someone give me a good reson to buy fabia.for 8 lacs plz!!!

      quality, economy, bells and whisltes packed in.(features)expeeensiiiiveeee.!. 8 lakh rupee hatchback omg. tooo much

      Exterior The exterior is very nice as compared to other hatc baks as skoda ppl are master in that.

       

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Provides highest space than all the other hatch.

       

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Had a dissapointment coz hav purchased a brand new car 3 months ago and had driven around 3500 km. had a sudden breakdown and so the car was nt able 2 start and so was in service station for 3 dayz bt the ppl wer nt able 2 find wt the prob waz.had puchased this car due to intension of superior build quality but proved 2 be bid dissapointment.

       

      Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is also good...itz suspension waz a bit hard initially but have becom much softer.

       

      Final Words please see other cars like i20 diesel or swift diesel also just dont go for superior brnad name.

       

      Areas of improvement Have 2 provide good quality cars according to itz name.

       Build quality is excellent.Very strong and rigid body.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

       Comfort is very good. Space and features are really nice.

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

       Fuel ecomony is very good. Clocked 1000km as on date and with one highway drive from B'lore to Chennai, over all fuel average came upto 20km/lt (Max time a/c was on).

       

      Ride Quality & Handling

       Breaking was good. No skidding at 120kmph and also nice breaking.

       Suspension was great.

      Final Words

       Every this as per this car is really good. But if you plan to buy this car in B'lore PLzz,plzz dont buy it in TAFE ACCESS

      Areas of improvement  

       Should have ABS and would have given front fog lamps with rear wiper.                                                                                                                                                                                        

       

      Good Fuel Economy. Nice strong buid. High safety in this segment.Noisy diesel engine. Power is less within city as the turbo need to get charged.

      Exterior and interiors of Fabia and other Skoda models are very good and the car is styled nicely. That's why most of the people are falling prey into buying any of the Skoda car.

      I had been a user for 2 years now and the problem started in Sep 10, with engine head have the problem and needed to be changed. I asked the company to extend the warranty on the changed parts, to which the company has been shying away. I am absolutely not sure about any thing at Skoda, as they can charge any price under the sun. A side mirror, which got broken by an indisciplined tempo driver, costed me a good Rs.10,000.

      All the good feel of driving the smooth car which you get in few months initially is taken over by continuous hassles of maintaining this car. I feel that whether I am working for this car or the car is working for me.

      My advise to all the buyers, The response from company is absolutely poor. Dealers face all our wrath patiently, but do not give a single concession for all the harassment we go thru in the process. Any part can fail and post warranty, you should be ready expend a bomb for the same. Skoda does all good marketing and beautiful schemes, please do not get fooled by it. As one will repent post purchase and again for resale there will be heavy price discount and one will break money to the tune of 60-70% in 2-3 years itself.

      Areas of improvement The staff at Jublee Hills show room are pathetic, they are all experts in giving false commitments. So new buyers be very very careful on this note.

      I have purchased Skoda Fabia Elegance 1.2 (Petrol) on Dt:26.10.2011 from Jublee Hills Show room Hyderabad. Ms. Adithi Gangully was the sales  executive who explained me of all the features and also told of the Diwali offer. She initially said over benifit of 1 lakh rupees on all the variant of Skoda Fabia (Petrol variant). Benifit mensioned to me was split in three break up, 

      1. Cash discount         : Rs 55,000 /-

      2. AMC for 3Yrs           : Rs 30,000 /-

      3. Skoda surprise gift  :  Rs 15,000 /-

                                       ------------------

                     Total             Rs 1,00,000 /-

                                      -------------------

      Finally i have taken my car delivery from Jublee Hills show room on 29.10.2011, Wherein they have given me only the Cash discount and AMC for the 3 years free. When asked about the free gift they said its comming from Germany and will take 5 to 10 days time. I called them after 15 days they told me gift has not yet reached and told me to still wait for a week. I was even in contact with Mr. Jaya Chandra (Show Rooom Manager).On 24.01.2012 one Ms.Praveena (Customer service -manager) has informed me to come and collect the gift. On saturday i.e., 28.01.2011 i went to collect the gift i was shocked to hear from them that they say the gift was only for people who have purchased Ambience model. 

      After an continuous argument for 20minutes they started defending themself saying that they have never told any thing about gift. These kind of service and behavior is not at all appriciated from such a reputed car manufacturer like Skoda. I treat this kind of false commitment to customer as ill mannered and treat it  truly not professional.

      So people, I request all the new buyers to be very very causious of these kind of trap and kindly dont keep any thing pending anything with this people. Also take evry thing they commit in a peace of paper.

      I went to the autobahn dealer in andheri to check on the Fabia and i was greeted by the receptionist, trying to shower me with details of the car, something that she had mugged up from the brochure and repeated like a parrot. I checked the car inside out and after about 10 mins the actual sales guy tottered in with an attitude and air about himself as if he was selling me a rolls royce. i asked for the price list and my jaw dropped and how... 9.5 lacs for the top end diesel on road and almost 8 lacs for the only version of the petrol... I laughed out loud... and asked if if skoda miss-printed the price , but the answer was no. this is what it was.. i was shocked. why would i want to pay 8 lacs for a hatch back. This is India ... yes the car is great to look at but skodas are expensive to maintain with service and spares, and it is competing with the likes of the Honda city in a segment a notch higher. I chked for a test drive an he told me it would take a while and that he would call me after a week, he went on to add that he has 70 bookings and a 2 month waiting period rather sarcastically. After one last look i left the show room. Well here is my conclusion Skoda... remember fiat and their Palio. Great car, bad marketing, bad publicity and finally dead product.. you guys may head that way if you dont look closely. You ve obviously done ur market research and the rest of the stuff, but car buying in india is an emotional deal and works by word of mouth and user reviews . Lets wait for 6 to 8 months and see, may be i ll chk this review 8 months from now and may be i ll be wrong. But for now i dont think the car makes sense at all. what is the deal.... ! its power stakes are barely there, with luke warm engine specs... it may be worth if the top end is close to 7.5 lacs on road.. forget the sun roof.. we dont need it, have it as a customization accessory. Com on guys this is still a hatch back with a regular engine, and not a Golf GTi... and Skoda you're not Mercedes !Looks, Quality fit and finish, space and practicalityPrice, Price, Price. its a hatch god damn it... not a sedan, and why a sun roof

      Perhaps the best way to compare Skoda Fabia 1.4 diesel Classic with the Swift is to look at it as a European car. A good place to get an opinion for a European car is the Top Gear website, which helped me in my decision.

      I arrived at this car after test driving, Fusion, SX4, Aveo, Indigo, Verna and Swift. And was specifically looking for a diesel car. Somehow line extension cars like the Aveo, Indigo and petrol like the SX4 did not appeal. The Fusion just looks dull. Verna diesel blew the budget.

      The Fabia looks almost yummy to eat from the outside (see ad on YouTube) and is delightfully detailed on the inside. It feels like driving in a big car. I felt the rattle of the diesel engine was not an issue inside the cabin, though you can feel the vibrations along the foot board.

      After owning an Indica and test driving a Swift, I finally felt good looking back at the car I just stepped out of. After driving a Swift, you step out of the car and feel pretty ordinary!

      I enjoyed driving the Fabia more as it felt more solid on the road and around bends as compared to the Swift and personally felt the drive quality was much better. A plus on the Skoda for me (for my height) was the steering wheel flexibility which is not adjustable in the Swift.

      When I say the Fabia does everything you want it to, I really mean it. What the car tends to lack in power in comparison and a high torque, makes up for in the responsiveness while moving from 0-60 km/h.

      I've now driven it 1500 kms and it is giving me 17 km/liter of diesel with the a/c within the city. I don't know about value for money, as I was willing to pay the extra money over the Swift for this car.
