I purchased Scala. May be if u add R and rearrange it means Rascal. Truly this is. Four years. Five major breakdowns because of manufacturing defects and the customer complaint department from Renault is non-committal. Hopeless, their design is not adaptable to Indian road; air conditioner cooling coil has been replaced twice; bearings in the car have been found to be manufacturing defective; brake drums within six months have been found to be manufacturing defective AND there is still more. Renault is well known in Europe. BUT in India.the fact that Renaultr team had connected many times justifies that my vehicle had multiple failures.within four years, bearings, brake drums, air conditioner coils, caliper have been changed because of manufacturing faults. On your request I had taken my vehicle last week and the team has given a report that there is manufacturing defects in the vehicle. Please tell me why should anyone buy this product from Renault and what should I do with my vehicle.

Exterior Front grill is masculine. Side contours and rear curves in combination rear brake light cluster provides Scala a delicate upmarket look. A boot spoiler adds that extra lift to the rear hump by which car picks up extra style quotient and appreciative glances. Colour range is restrictive. If a canary yellow or leaf green is added to the colour range then the shade card becomes perfect and attracts a larger number of lady drivers. Renault must consider this suggestion. Turning indicator on the side mirrors, which is now a universal standard, must be added. Wheel cavity and arches are proportionate. Add crome bborder to the arches for the killer looks.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Rear seat confort is exceptional and without doubt the best in class. Seat angle can drop by another 2 degress for better argonomics. A 60:40 provision for RHS rear seat can be considered. Front space is adequate, but copassenger is more comfortable than the driver. Some automation to driver's seat adjustment must be incorporated. Instrument cluster is simple, smart and inteligently placed. Plastic is passable. Door knobs are crome and rugged. Pockets and niches in door cavities leaves lot of scope to improve. Biggest shortcoming is driver's LHS arm rest and USB port. Sound system effectiveness is below par due to high cabin noise.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Fan noise is abnormally high. Engine is also noisy across a wide range of rpm as compared to other Petrol cars of 1.5 litre capacity. Petrol AT is giving 15+ kmpl consistently in Bombay stop-start traffic, a remarkable achievement for this class of sedan. Hunch is that engine oil consumption will be high. AT gear box is nautchy and gear shift is not the highlight of driving pleasure. Steering is leather clad with minimal finger controls (which is good since more controls distract). Road feedback to steering improves with speed. Gear knob is very plastic and the ball is too big for an elegant look and feel.
Ride Quality & Handling Traction is good and smooth. Wheel base sits well on the road and grips it adequately. Car turns sharp edges well which is a big plus in tight parking slots. Suspension is stiff enough. Cabin picks up a lot of fan, engine and road noise. Extra padding is added to muffel it. At speed avove 80 kmph in-line driving is a question. Not safe on off-road and gravel surface driving. Driver's fatigue in long distance driving will build up due to absence of arm rest and cruise control.
Final Words Good ar to own if your choice is Petrol AT.
Areas of improvement Slightly overpriced for the features it offers. Else add 3-4 value giving features in the same price.

Most of the them get confused in side angle between toyota camry and Scala. Wonderful design by renault.

Engine Pick up is good. So far i have driven 2000 kms and I have got excellent mileage. Believe me or not I could achieve 27 kmpl with full A/C on and all five people packed + boot was almost fully packed on NH4 highway from bangalore <--> chitradurga (452 kms driven by just filling diesel for 1000 rs (16.7 liters). I just drove the car with speed maintaing between 90-105 kmp hr.
Ride Quality & Handling
Good absorbs most of the speed breakers , bumbs etc. but I feel steering wheel responding quickly to few road bumbs or rubber road humps which should be handled properly so that driver will not get disturbed.

- Music system of the car should be upgraded as per the latest cars (atleast GPS, bluetooth , USB support).
- Cup holders on the rear doors IS A MUST apart from the arm rest renault offers.

Exterior Its really good looking; but some people have commented its the copy of sunny but its better than it its eye catching ;its as simple as like this. You all gals are same but we choose the gal who is beautiful I dont mind spending extra 60 k than sunny bcoz its far better than it there is no compromissing we r ready to pay 11lakh I hope 60k would not be more for the looks we spend. Features are good space and comfort is awsome
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Performance is good not bad as expected fuel economy is really good in the city I have not gone for highway i will be going very shortly I will let u know the reviews when I come back as of now i am really happy most the people have told me that scala is better than sunny in looks so now i have felt that spended extra 60k did not waste thats were i was stasisfied with ood in city.

Exterior Simple & Good looking, The 17 inch alloy wheel gives stylish look to the car
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Spacious & Comfortable with features like Bluetooth, USB & Auxilary input. The quality of the plastics used for the interior is good. There are lot of small intelligent features built in the car which add decent value to the car.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The proven Renault engine is great in performance with Good fuel conomy (i am getting an average of 20 Km/l with A/c On). Especially the engine performance at the mid range is excellent. The gear shifting is good.
Ride Quality & Handling Ride Quality & Handling is good.
Final Words It is very Good buy considering the cost paid & the comfort you get from the car...
Areas of improvement The body thickness can be increassed & can use better tyre makes rather than JK tyres which gives bit of noice, Seats can be much more comfortable, The front & rear of the cars doesn't looks like a big sedan.

Final Words No Complaints about car. Just annoying with After Sales Service. It's going near about 2 months, but no progress in the service. Service center employees explained us about major problem with renault service.
Before 2 months, When I was driving to my native place. In the midway, oil chamber got damaged and engine was stucked. We took the car to a service center and now they are telling us about spareparts problem. They told to renault about provide the spareparts, but renault dooes not provides spare parts to them. And only because of that I am a car owner but without car.
I have written to the customer care so many times and have not received a reply even after a month. Completely disgusting service of renault. I suggest to buy any other car, If service is important for you. Now I am thinking about sell this car and buy a new one, but not Renault... NEVER.

We have first book Fiat Avventura, But my friend recommend me to check this once, and this was the only car in the market we thought not to buy, except this we had tested every car which is available into budget of 6-10 lakhs, When I booked Avventura my friend who works for Renault requested me to at least drive this car once, I decided to give it a chance, And frankly from the first ride I was so much confused whether to go it or not, But then Renault offered me a handsome discount on this car which was irresistible so could say No, And buy it.
And after this my thinking completely changed about this car, the engine is exception, I ran it on highways at maximum 15-160 KMPH and it was so stable, it crossed big path holes with ease, many time the shock was as much as, at high speed that I thought It broke the suspension but it didnt, If you go constantly at the speed 80-100 KMPH it will deliver max mileage more than KMPL, And yes this mileage figure is not exaggerated.
Now comes the best part is its leg room it just so awesome that no tension in longest route, I went with my family as far as 1200 KM nonstop and we are still not that tired that we could be from this long travels all thanks to above the class leg room and superb quality of seats.

The exterior and interior is quite basic, other thing which I realized is it headlamp doesn’t have much focus and power to see in night clearly which needs to be worked out.
If you dont care for what people say to you after buying this car and only listen to yourself then go for it, I still remember people are making joke on me that why you have invested this much of money when you can easily buy Verna like category, After my first long trip I realized it much much sophisticated and ruggid then any other class near to it, I feel it has much comfort then Honda city, because the same distance I have covered from Honda city I was extremely tired. As a title said if you need combo pack in reasonable price go for it. The after sales service of Renault is very good too.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort). We tried sitting on back seat when we took test ride of all the sedans and large hatch backs as well as SUVs. We found maximum space and comfort in scala when compared to 1.Verna 2.Vento 3.Fiesta 4.Ertiga 5.Amaze 6.Dzire 7.Manza
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox. Pick up is ZABAR ZAST in all gears. If you try to over take a Sedan like Dzire or SUV like E on highway in 5 th Gear, it takes the challange swiftly. Inside City pick up is better than most sedans (gear 2/3).
Ride Quality & Handling: I was fanatic about DUSTER for a year. Took test drive three times, but Scala scored better in ride quality. Every thing is smooth paddles, stearing, doors, wipers etc. Every one sitting inside are Comfortable. Rear Seats has awsome leg space with central arm rest, where u can immidiately streach your self on occupying the seat.

If you want to buy DEISEL SEDAN.. Choice is SCALA ( It GIVES YOU ALL FOUR : ECONOMY STYLE PERFORMANCE COMFORT )

The Car has strong efficient engine; has good built with strong body and is spacious in the segment. There are lot of small intelligent features built in the car which add decent value to the car.
I have used this car for over 41000 Kms in one year. It moves smoothly on highways and handles even high speed well. The boot is spacious and so is the car.
How I wish they had spent some time working on seats as well. I had perennial back ache with the seats. The head rest is wrongly designed ; it forces your back to arch which starts hurting in 3/6 months of regular usage.
My car suffered a tyre burst in 40000 Kms on a rainy day at normal speed which speaks of poor OEM tyres that they are using. Worst is that inspite of massive damages to car from all sides - the air bags did not deploy. Sturdy seat belts and tough body did save me; but I would not rate the tyres , air bags ; sensors high on reliability.
Infact I would not buy another Renault car after this incident.
