I took a test drive of the Kwid recently and I was completely impressed with this car. At this price range, it has optimum features and looks really good. No other car in the segment looks as good as the Kwid. The ground clearance is good so driving over bad roads is not a problem. The car is really light and driving it in traffic is very easy as it moves around very nicely. The media nav is excellent and the interior is good considering the cost. The luggage space is also very big. I liked the Kwid and I booked it. But I will get my Kwid in probably two months, thanks to the many bookings my dealer cannot specify perfect date. They could have made the interiors more attractive but they are not very bad. Good small car in an affordable price. for regular city driving it is the best car to buy.

The Gearbox is giving me major problems. I live in the hillside and I often have to switch gears while driving especially between one and two. It so happens that when you are in a traffic jam and changing gears very frequently from one to two and back, eventually the gear will not shift into gear one. It becomes a Herculean task. I have been stranded in uphill traffic more times than I care to mention because the gear does not shift into gear one. Eventually it does but it takes major effort. But to be fair, I should mention that I am a new Driver. The car is my first car, purchased and delivered in December 2015. But the same problem was mentioned by another experienced driver who taught me how to drive. He had also complained that the gear does not shift into gear one. It is very demoralizing. Today the gear box made very stressful sounds while I was testing gears on plain grounds.
Second major problem - the car horns stop working for no reason. This started from yesterday. After having driven 35kms the car horn stops functioning. It happened more or less at the same spot yesterday and today too. How can a car Horn Mal function? Ok maybe the gear box problem is that I am a new Driver....but car horn. Now I have to drive back to town and I am not sure whether it will function or not. This is a QUALITY ISSUE and I am pretty sure the GearBox is also not my doing....How difficult can it be to shift gears? What next - The Brakes!!!!!!
I am dissaponted with this car. Would advise people to rethink purchase of this car. Now that I am reviewing other complaints - it seems this car has quality issues.

Exterior The exterior of the car is really nice. It looks good and certainly feels like it is costs a lot more than it's price. The only remotely negative thing that can be said about exterior looks is that the tyres could have had a thicker profile and look a little skinny.
However quality of parts is suspect. An auto driver hit the front of the car and the entire bumper broke. It is quite brittle.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) This is a disappointment on several counts. Firstly, the passenger seat is cramped. This is because of a combination of the seat design and glove box design, so the knee hits if you are tall.
They have stuck a large looking touch screen. It is cheap and tacky to say the least. For example, there is no way to turn off the radio. How do you do it? You reduce volume to zero if you want to use any other feature. Yes really. The system has navigation but no information to explain how the maps can be updated. Overally really tacky.
There is no internal side mirror adjust. Not even a manual plasticky stick that exists in cars from 15 years ago. I did not even think if asking whether this feature existed and so when I found out it didn't, it was a big surprise. Now the side mirror is also very flimsy. So within a month it broke while trying to adjust it physically. This is a major pain if the car is going to be driven by more than one person. I offered to pay whatever money it takes if they could fit an aftermarket adjustable mirror.. but no luck and no options.
The seats hoowever are pretty good and comfortable. They also offer adequate thigh support.
The boot space is a nice surrpise and actually quite massive considering the dimensions of the car.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox One major thing that isn't advertised is that the fuel tank is less than 20 liters capacity. In fact till date the service center / sales team have not confirmed to me the exact stated capacity. So the range in city conditions is less than 300 kms. I got good mielage initially on the highway ~ 20 km/liter. Than Renault did a 'runing' of the AMT without asking me when I sent for routine service. I find this attitude amazing. The net result is that my mielage dropped tremendously. After pitching a fit, it was tuned back and is now hovering at around 16 kmpl in city conditions.
The car isn't peppy, so don't expect quick overtaking etc. However, the automatic is really convenient to drive. The car doesn't have a crawl function. So especially in cities where the roads aren't flat, you need to keep your leg on the brake at traffic lights.
Ride Quality & Handling The handling is quite good and the high chassis ensures that you don't feel too much of bumps etc. For a car in this segment, the NVH levels are also quite acceptable.
However, again quite a few tacky parts come to the fore. For example, the accelerator lever keeps squeaking and this has not been fixed even after service.
Final Words If you are in the market for a low cost, convenient car that is going to mainly be driven by one person, then the AMT is a good choice. Be prepared to spend about 10 K and slap on a parking sensor / camera. It is well worth it.
Areas of improvement Internally adjustable side mirrors. Better quality touch console. Atleast parts that have more wear and tear or could be damaged, should be of better quality.

Final Words Hello friends, I bought my Renault Kwid 3 months back on march 10th. Gone for three long rides of 400 kms each. The comfort during long drive was appreciable. The Steering seems more stable at higher speeds of 120kmph. The mileage was up to the mark. I am getting around 18kms in city and around 20 on Highways. No need to explain about exteriors, interiors as many of u were aware about them. But I will tell you few points. The Navigation system is suitable for cities but not at all use full for rural India. The touch was little bit laggy, The call clarity over BT was awesome but the music player over BT is lagging severely. We can find Minute vibrations of Gear Rod. The ground clearance claims to be 180 but even the Indian speed breakers breaks the bottom of the car instead of speed. I hope it might be some designing error. There was some minute errors in designing. If you close the front door when the back door is completely opened it will leave some minute rashes on the back door bottom. The accessories provided by Renault are up to mark. The dealer claimed around 5000 for extended warranty.

Exterior Very Stylish.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interior material used is very low on quality. No door open indicator. lesser rear sit space but comfortable. Front sits are very comfortable. Door closing is noisy, many a times makes metal sound while closing all doors. Feels like having no rubber.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Enginge performance is very poor and its very noisy. Requires frequent gear shifts. When we turn on AC, engine performance lowers down more, pickup becomes very low. One can not move vehicle with 2nd gear when speed lowers on breaker.
Very Bad fuel economy 13 - 15 kmpl. Company cheated on that.
Gearbox is not smooth. Gets locked sometimes when shifting to 5th gear.
Ride Quality & Handling Both are good, but suspensions are bad. Sometimes on bad roads, it feels like riding in taxy.
Final Words A vehicle with excelent look but very poor performance.

Dear friends I was purchased a KWID RXT in aug2016 after 15 days I was facing a lot of problems in this car.
1 Engine having a huge sound like a generator while this is a petrol car.
2 sound from fuel pump, then service centre replaced the fuel pump.
3 Low pick up problem still pending.
4 Maximum 14-18 KMPL milage while renault says its milage 25kmpl.
5 Hard clutch.
6 Hard gear shifting.
7 Zerking problem.
8 Battery going to dead, now service centre decleared that battery faulty and warranty of battery just one year,and saying replace the battery your own cost.
9 Car whole body sound.
10 Navigation system not working properly.
11 Side mirrors defaced.
12 Central lock 2 time faulty and replaced by service centre.
13 Break fail frequently in rush area like market and lower speed.
14 Breaks efficiency poor in high speed approx 90KM/H.
15 AC not work effectively.
Friends my car KWID RXT just run 15000 km and i am facing a lot of problem. almost all problem running continue approx 15-20 times I am visited at service centre. But problems not rectified. Many time i wrote Renault but he is not giving me any replay.
Friends Thoes belongs to middle class family they known whats is the value of 3-4 laths.Kwid looks is not bad. I also appreciate its looks but in this car have a lot of problems. and Renault cannot accept its responsibility.
I am again telling friends if anyone want to buy this car please think. Because Renault used in this car very very cheap parts. 2 times my car clutch wires changed,2 times Central lock changed,one time fuel pump changed,one time accelerator pedal changed. also something work done in clutch chamber, after that work my problems is running continue.
Service center teams very hard work done on it but problems can not rectified. Then what is the nessasty of this types car. please thought that after warranty what a middle class family bear this car maintenance cost. I strongly agreed that i was a fool whose purchased that type stupid car.I asked the Renault what is the difference between manufacturer warranty and extended warranty. but they cannot replied me.

Exterior Its the best in its segment.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Very spacious, The AC buttons are made up of cheap plastic.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox AC drops pickup and in 3rd gear takes a while to respond for acceleration.
Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is good, But Brakes should have been better.
Final Words If this is your first car, Have less money in pocket and you dont bother about engine power then this is good buy.

Also I have stange minor problem with my car, around 500KMS i got warning light turned on, Though I did not find any lag or failure in car, The service people were not able to find any issue with the car using their code reader, They reset the instrument cluster to turn the warning lights off and told it might be software bug, after driving the car to another 300 KMS the warning light again showed up, They contaced renault enginers to fix the issue, The reason they gave this time was Brake lights, Hope I dont have to see that warning light after 300 KMS again.

Exterior Beautifully designed car. Love the looks of it. Having chrome grills on the car makes it look tough and bold.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Lots of place to keep things. Seating 3 persons in the rear seat may be a problem.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Fuel economy after running for 3500Km is around 20Km. It will increase as we go along. Gearbox performace has increased after the first service. Happy with the performance.
Ride Quality & Handling Riding Kwid is really fun. Its very easy to move around in city and also feels good when you are going for a long drive.
Final Words Superb car for a fun loving family. Go for it. Those who like to ride safe and not fast (above 120km) then buy it. Only thing I have to say is that it might take around 3-5 months to get your car delivered as waiting period is nuts.
Areas of improvement May be engine noise and fuel meter consistency.
