I took a test drive of the Kwid recently and I was completely impressed with this car. At this price range, it has optimum features and looks really good. No other car in the segment looks as good as the Kwid. The ground clearance is good so driving over bad roads is not a problem. The car is really light and driving it in traffic is very easy as it moves around very nicely. The media nav is excellent and the interior is good considering the cost. The luggage space is also very big. I liked the Kwid and I booked it. But I will get my Kwid in probably two months, thanks to the many bookings my dealer cannot specify perfect date. They could have made the interiors more attractive but they are not very bad. Good small car in an affordable price. for regular city driving it is the best car to buy.

The Gearbox is giving me major problems. I live in the hillside and I often have to switch gears while driving especially between one and two. It so happens that when you are in a traffic jam and changing gears very frequently from one to two and back, eventually the gear will not shift into gear one. It becomes a Herculean task. I have been stranded in uphill traffic more times than I care to mention because the gear does not shift into gear one. Eventually it does but it takes major effort. But to be fair, I should mention that I am a new Driver. The car is my first car, purchased and delivered in December 2015. But the same problem was mentioned by another experienced driver who taught me how to drive. He had also complained that the gear does not shift into gear one. It is very demoralizing. Today the gear box made very stressful sounds while I was testing gears on plain grounds.
Second major problem - the car horns stop working for no reason. This started from yesterday. After having driven 35kms the car horn stops functioning. It happened more or less at the same spot yesterday and today too. How can a car Horn Mal function? Ok maybe the gear box problem is that I am a new Driver....but car horn. Now I have to drive back to town and I am not sure whether it will function or not. This is a QUALITY ISSUE and I am pretty sure the GearBox is also not my doing....How difficult can it be to shift gears? What next - The Brakes!!!!!!
I am dissaponted with this car. Would advise people to rethink purchase of this car. Now that I am reviewing other complaints - it seems this car has quality issues.

Dear friends I was purchased a KWID RXT in aug2016 after 15 days I was facing a lot of problems in this car.
1 Engine having a huge sound like a generator while this is a petrol car.
2 sound from fuel pump, then service centre replaced the fuel pump.
3 Low pick up problem still pending.
4 Maximum 14-18 KMPL milage while renault says its milage 25kmpl.
5 Hard clutch.
6 Hard gear shifting.
7 Zerking problem.
8 Battery going to dead, now service centre decleared that battery faulty and warranty of battery just one year,and saying replace the battery your own cost.
9 Car whole body sound.
10 Navigation system not working properly.
11 Side mirrors defaced.
12 Central lock 2 time faulty and replaced by service centre.
13 Break fail frequently in rush area like market and lower speed.
14 Breaks efficiency poor in high speed approx 90KM/H.
15 AC not work effectively.
Friends my car KWID RXT just run 15000 km and i am facing a lot of problem. almost all problem running continue approx 15-20 times I am visited at service centre. But problems not rectified. Many time i wrote Renault but he is not giving me any replay.
Friends Thoes belongs to middle class family they known whats is the value of 3-4 laths.Kwid looks is not bad. I also appreciate its looks but in this car have a lot of problems. and Renault cannot accept its responsibility.
I am again telling friends if anyone want to buy this car please think. Because Renault used in this car very very cheap parts. 2 times my car clutch wires changed,2 times Central lock changed,one time fuel pump changed,one time accelerator pedal changed. also something work done in clutch chamber, after that work my problems is running continue.
Service center teams very hard work done on it but problems can not rectified. Then what is the nessasty of this types car. please thought that after warranty what a middle class family bear this car maintenance cost. I strongly agreed that i was a fool whose purchased that type stupid car.I asked the Renault what is the difference between manufacturer warranty and extended warranty. but they cannot replied me.

Its not a good car :(
It does not work well when 3-4 people are sitting in it and you are driving uphill. Moreover on a float road also. When AC is on then also its really diffcult to drive it.
Yeah exterior looks okay and fule economy is also okay. No doubt its a value for money car but still when someone is paying 5 lakh for this car then they can pay 1 or 2 lakh extra as well for a much better car.
I could bear all this and wouldn't have written this review but Renault, Silkboard showroom, Hosur road, Bangalore. They forced me to do this. There extremlty bad behaviour with us is really not bearable. :(
The showroom management is extremly bad specially when you go to claim insurance. Even a very small amount also. They will force you to go back without claming anything and then unnecessarly you have to write all these review!
Not happy with Car and not happy with the Showroom services as well!

Exterior is good enough to turn heads. Finish of paint is good (my car is of Planet Grey color) The car looks excellent from any angle. Ground clearance is good enough to give you a peace of mind in indian roads. Please note that the oil sump is made of plastic material which is a serious concern.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) I had been using a Alto till now, this Kwid has got some space inside. Two persons can sit comfortably in the front. There is quite a good space in between the two front seats. That means you are not disturbing your co-passenger when you are shifting gears. Back seat can accomodate two grown-ups and a kid easily. Three healthy people will have to adjust a bit, but it will be not uncomfortable as in alto back seat. The back seat has tigh suppot and a good leg space. I am 5'-8" tall. When I sit in the driver's seat, the person sitting at my back is having a good space between his knees and the back rest of the front seat. On ly problem is that the seat belts at the back are not retractable. Storage is quite good. Ample space in glove box and front door panel. Touch screen infotainment is okay with dash board mounted speakers only. Don't expect very high quality sound from these small spakers. Navigation is good and bluetooth connectivity is an added advantage. You can connect your mobile phone and transfer the phone-book to the head unit. Interior finish is at par with the price of this entry level hatchback. Finish of the consoles and switches are good. Gear shift indicators is of no use since you wont stare all the time at the console while driving. Vocal notifications would have been a boon.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox. Engine is noisy but is smooth inside the cabin. I have watched some people reving high to roll the car in first gear, which is un-necessary. One can hear the noise during idling. Gearbox is okay but shifting of gear is crunchy. Persons using Hyundai I10 will find a bit hard to shift the gear lever. At present my car is giving a economy of 10.6 Km/L with A.C. on and in city ride (reason why I gave 2stars in the fuel economy field). Hoping to get better mileage after the first service- hoping for the best and Keeping my fingers crossed. Pick-up is good but with A.C. on when you are shifting from 2nd gear to 3rd the engine feels sluggish for a few seconds but if you rev a bit the engine springs up to life. This will happen since the cubic capacity of the engine is 800cc.
Ride Quality & Handling. Ride quality is good, suspension is comfortable. Power steering is responsive, notices roll during turnings. Braking is good.
Final Words. Over all, the car is good at this price point, atleast you get the bang of your money except some cons which are ineveitable.
Areas of improvement . Oil sump should be replaced with metallic one. Parcel tray speakers will be a welcome change.

Final Words 305KM I have been experiencing, and really happy with it so far. In all the reviews this Vehicle is being compared with Alto, Eon etc. But in terms of exterior appearance and looks Alto ,Eon will not be a comparison at all. Kwid Looks very elegant. A/C is also pretty good, Steering is very smooth and pleasure to drive.
Digital Instrument cluster with Speedo Meter, Gear Change indication, Trip Meter, Total Fuel.
Real Value for Money. I have RXT Model. 7” Touch screen system with FM/USB/AUX/Navigation/Bluetooth paring & Calling etc. all these features in very much affordable price.
Massive boot space and ok sort of cabin space. Power is not so good but it can be manageable.
Currently im getting 23 KM/L as per the Digital Instrument cluster, long drive and same speed with A/C ON.
totally am happy.
Areas of improvement More improvement on cc. 1000 cc is best.

In compresion to EON, Alto even i10 this is the best exterior.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)
The space & comfort level is very good. The boot space is also very good. Lagague space is more than Swift & i20. Its a dream car in small segment gives look of middle segment car.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
Looking to the 800cc engine, the pick up is good but having some problem in shifting gear between 2 to 1 after start. During shifting of gear, some noice also appears, in appling break, something feels loose even after 1st service.
Ride Quality & Handling
Power stearing during ride feels very comfort driving. Ground clearance is good so feel safe but recently I heart a car burnt near Shastri Chowk, Kanpur is Kwid hence worried about its safety norms.
Final Words
I have purchaged the RXT model 2016 in the month Feb. 2016 and run over 2000 Kilometers. Although Company price of car is reasonable but its dealer at Kanpur is charging so many amount in various head hence it cross over Rs. 4,35,000/- on road. Morover, its service station is out of city hence it is not possible to everyone to go there even if a short complaint arise.
Areas of improvement
I am getting 16.9 kilometer per liter average with AC & hoping it will certainly improve in near future but noice is gear box, difficulties is shifting of gear from 2 to 1 and improvement is break is necessary.
Good style, very good audio system & effective ACSound in engine, break, gear box.

Have to look at Fuel ecnomy after 1st Servicing as initially the IDLE spped is on higher side. But definetly Engine has to work Very Hard if AC is ON.
Didn't not feel the same in Maruti Swift.

Exterior Good and look like suv.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Not much good and very low quality . from begining some items are giving problem. Media nav is not upto the mark and no use of map without latest update. better to use google map rather using useless kwid map.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Fuel economy is very bad, i am getting only 9km/ltr in town and 12-13 km/ltr un state highway with two person load on AC. I purchase this small car kwid 800cc only due to mileage but very flop in mileage even bad from swift car. I realy feeled cheated due to bad mileage.
Ride Quality & Handling Stearing is good and easy to handle.
Final Words Not good to purchase, very noisy and low fuel efficency. Power very low when AC starts.

Exterior is good and well designed & and catches the eyes of the people and they just stair and say WOW.
