Recently bought a used Renault duster rxl 110ps ,which is just in excellent condition ,minding some faults with the doors and power windows ,which I got fixed up from a genuine Renault service centre along with a full service done at a reasonable rate ,which is not at all heart hitting.they fixed all the issues ,even minor issues with the engine which even I didn't know was present buying it from dealer.A big shout out to them.
Comming to the features, mines being a 2014 model lacked some of the features which was present in the latest releasing dusters like touch screen infotainment display ,automatic air-conditioning and seat lifters.from outside it is as bold as 2018 models with a lot of road presence,I have to tell you while u come across someother vehicles in front ,they themselves will provide you way seeing the muscular looks it got..the 4 bulges along the tire fins are also wide which unfortunately makes it more prone to damages at the sides.
As sides cannot be predicted while driving.the front grill looks dashing along with the chrome treatment given. The rear side of the car is as appealing as it's front with no major concerns in designs, ofcource the latest duster comes with a much attractive tail lamps and headlights .but I feel no sign of downsizing towards the traditional ones. Its as appealing as it should be. Comming to the interiors ..we can see a lot of hard plastics and polymers.the dashboard is kind of outdated and could have been much more premium ,but Renault has priced this vehicle, ranging from 7.3lakhs to 13.9 lakhs in blore, thus cost cutting inthe interior is quite acceptable. The seats feel premium, though lacks underthigh support and rear centre headrest.
Comming to safety my model has 2 air bags in front equipped with abs.But sadly misses out traction control which is present in the latest 2018 duster so no worries for people opting for a new duster. The duster has a variety of varients on offer for things to get easier I'll mention some popular varients along with the features it has:- 1. rxe version -diesel model with 85bhp(9.9*lks) 2.rxs AMT:-diesel model with automatic transmission producing close to round 110bhp(11.7*lks) 3.petrol rxl :- producing class leading 105 bhp with petrol engine .. It also has other AWD amt models, I would prefer the reader hook up to the curosponding sites to look through more varients. For the engine performance ,which being my favourite is a beast with 110bhp of power.
Though there is a lot of turbo lag at the low range and the manual transmision is a quite rigid, which is well altered in the 3rd generation duster(2018), but anyways once u blow past the low range and enter the mid range u can feel the goosebumps, the way it picks up, u may not get digged into your seat but it's quite enough for one to know "it's not something other cars in segment can play with " thanks to the turbo charger {(nissan/Renault issued )(only with diesel varients ).as far as bad road are concerned, duster glides through it, which brings us to the fact that it's a heavy duty off-road vehicle which other suv's in the segment struggles with. NOW BIG QUESATION,weather to opt a Renault duster?
If someones concerned about road presence and likes to travel a lot, it's the vehicle for you.for cities I would not prefer neither varients though diesel gives a milage of about 20kmpl in highways and 12 in Bangalore traffic, while the petrol comes with roughly 13kmpl which will reduce to 6 or 7 in cities, the turbo lag with the vehicle may cause an issue and would be tireding for cities.
