City Tourer

Exterior Has a pleasant exterior, will not offend anyone, but wont excite anyone. This car was purchased for my dad who is 72 years old. 

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) We were looking out for audit petrol and we picked this car over Jazz and polo (for price), grand i10 (no ABS for automatic version), new ford figo (mileage and blindspot), celerio (too crude). This car is adequately equiped but Nissan should have provided tochscreen navigation entertainment unit at this price along with 4 airbags rather than 2. ORVM controls and USB connector are not ergonomically fitted. Strictly a four seater car as rear bench cannot accomodate 3 adults abreast. This is a big transmission tunnel that would disturb the middle passenger. However the rear seats come with removable heardrest that is is a very important safety feature in case of rear ending. Figo and Jazz have fixed rear headrest which is a safety hazard. Micra comes equiped with good tyres (Bridgestone) which offers low road noise and decent grip at legal speeds.

The car has large galss house that aids in wonderful all round visibility. 

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Prominent rubber band effect is felt if you press the pedal to the metal. The car is meant for sedate drivers. Enthusiasts should look at Figo/Polo. Presnt mileage after running for 540 kms is 9.4 Km/L. Hope it improves after the first oil change (6 months from date of purchase or 10,000 Kms, whichever is earlier).

CVT gearbox, once past the initial hesitation, smoothly spools and builds up speed. 

Ride Quality & Handling Does not roll around when the car hits potholes. On paper the GC is less compared to other cars, but in the real world the car is yet to scrape the (in)famous Bangalore speed breakers, aka bone breakers. 

Final Words Great city tourer. Ideal for bindaas stress free driving. 

Areas of improvement Rear seating comfort, Tocuh screen display, Ergonomic placement of ORVM controls and USB connectors.
