- Manual variants contributed 83 per cent
- Domestic sales crosses 19,000 units
Maruti Suzuki has achieved an important milestone with its recently launched fourth-gen Swift hatchback. The new model has surpassed 40,000 bookings in India since its launch. Currently, the Swift can be had in five variants at a starting ex-showroom price of Rs. 6.49 lakh.
Out of the total bookings, 83 per cent of customers have opted for the manual variants. Meanwhile, variant-wise, the VXi trim has garnered the most bookings by almost 50 per cent in manual and AMT guise. Also worth noting is the sales tally, as the Swift has already crossed 19,000 units in India post its launch.
The Maruti Suzuki Swift can be had in five variants, namely, LXi, VXi, VXi (O), ZXi, and ZXi Plus. Under the bonnet, the hatchback gets a new Z-series 1.2-litre three-cylinder NA petrol motor coupled with a five-speed manual and an AMT gearbox. While the motor is said to be more fuel efficient than before, the power output has been reduced to 80bhp and 112Nm of peak torque.
